I’ve been using manual toothbrushes my entire life and I thought I was doing a good job. After a long mental health episode that left me not caring about my teeth I knew I had to go to the dentist, at my initial consult I asked the assistant what the best electric toothbrush is, she said philips sonicare diamondclean. Now the diamondclean line is very expensive and has some features I don’t care for (I don’t need an app). So I bought this instead. The way this brush feels is wild, you will never be able to go back to manual. This leaves my mouth feeling like I just got a cleaning. When I went back for my cleaning my hygienist was very happy that I bought a philips and told me that oral-bs don’t work very well (can’t verify but I imagine its because of user error). ... MoreI’ve been using manual toothbrushes my entire life and I thought I was doing a good job. My cleaning was very quick, no longer then 20 minutes, with very little tartar. Now I have 6 months till my next cleaning in December but I hope I will get even better results. I did change the head to the A3 because soft bristles are better for your enamel and gums.

This is my second time trying this product. It works well—until it doesn’t. The battery quickly dies, this time it won’t hold a charge just 6 months after purchase. Do not buy this product. For the price point, this should be a stable product to use for at least a couple of years to get your moneys worth. My other one was past the return policy and the manufacturer wouldn’t do anything for me. Waste of money. Sad because I know it is quality in regards to cleaning teeth but not with the high price for a product that fails after just 6 months.

Wish the Q or HSN had done a special deal with Philips for this incredible toothbrush. I just purchased a dual pack through a shopping club, but I did want to highly recommend this product, because it is worth every penny because of the technology features in this model. It has a smart brush head sensor that you can get a variety of Philips Sonicare types (depending on your care needs). This has 3 settings and 3 intensity settings. It has a pressure warming, a quadrant alert, and will time out after 2 minutes. This holds a charge for 14 days and the travel case is brilliant, I use it daily for at wok or perhaps you are going to the gym. This is a very powerful sonic toothbrush that truly cleans, whitens and is a great supported of your gums."" I've used Philip's Sonicare toothbrushes for as long as I can remember - a long time, thirty, maybe forty years. Yes, I'm THAT old, lol!I like their 'action', and even though the other well known type seems to be in favour at the moment (You know ... the one with the round brush and circular motion?!) I prefer the Philip's Sonicare. I had to purchase a new one back in December, and chose a 7900 series, the Hx9631/18. Its great, does the job beautifully as expected. It was on offer at £168.00, and although I think that's a lot of money, nothing is too much if it keeps my teeth in my head!I thought it would be a good idea to leave one at my boyfriend's/partner's house to save taking mine backwards and forwards every weekend, and at my dentist's recommendation did ... MoreI've used Philip's Sonicare toothbrushes for as long as I can remember - a long time, thirty, maybe forty years. I hated it, my teeth didn't feel clean after using it, so I realised I was going to have to invest in another Philip's one. Loathe to pay out another huge sum as in my December purchase, especially after splashing out on the now unwanted O*** B one, I chose the one featured in this review - the Hx6871/47. It was a reasonable £110.00, what could go wrong, I thought. A Philip's Sonicare is a Philip's Sonicare, right? Wrong, apparently.Seriously, this recent purchase doesn't compare to the Hx9631/18. It's not as powerful in any way at all. I feel that with just a tiny bit too much pressure it stops brushing. I'm not heavy handed with it, but it's really not a match for my December purchase. Possibly okay for a child? I don't know, but I'm just so disappointed with it, and wish so much that I could return it, and purchase a second Hx9631. I suppose I've left it too late .... watch this space ... I'm going to try!
I am on my second Philips electric toothbrush. It seems that there is a fatal flaw that makes the toothbrush fail after about three years. The link between the "motor" (driver) and the toothbrush head fatigues and cracks. Once cracked the "motor" can no longer drive the brush head. The replacement toothbrush has some new features, it allows the operator to change the mode the toothbrush operates in, and the other modes extend the operating time. The toothbrush under mode 1 vibrates for 2 minutes. Every thirty seconds it pauses for just a moment indicating you should change the area being brushed. As an example, brush the top outer teeth for 30 seconds, then brush the top inner teeth for thirty seconds, and then the same for the bottom teeth. As an example, brush the top outer teeth for 30 seconds, then brush the top inner teeth for thirty seconds, and then the same for the bottom teeth. The problem is unless you are paying close attention it is easy to miss the pause in the brush motion, Philips should use a beep to indicate change. This has been a problem with both my new and my old toothbrush so Philips is not going to change their product to make it better, that would cost money. The feel on the buttons is the same so it is easy to hit the wrong button, Phillips should change the texture so you can tell what button you are pushing.Phillips recommends changing the brush head every 90 days, their heads have a chip that will cause the toothbrush to beep when it is time to change the brush. the problem is their brushes are very expensive $10 to $15 each depending on the type you buy. I use third party which are much cheaper and just as good. To make it simple for myself I change brushes at the beginning of each quarter, for the cost of a single Phillips brush you can get 6 to 8 third-party brushes. The Phillips Sonicare does do a good job cleaning my teeth and that is why I bought a second one, but will be looking to see if there is a cheeper, better alternative.
I am upgrading from an older Oral B electric toothbrush. This is my first time trying Sonicare, and so far I love this toothbrush so much more than my old one. My mouth feels cleaner, and I also appreciate the quality of brush head included with this particular toothbrush compared to my Oral B brush heads. I find the timer useful to make sure I am brushing for an adequate amount of time. The toothbrush also feels like it will last a long time. Having great dental care is important, so buying this felt like a good decision, and I am not disappointed!
This Protective Clean replaced my older Sonicare which died after a useful life. I am very happy with how clean it gets my teeth, and would highly recommend it. There are so many varieties of Sonicare, and after some research, I determined that this one met my needs. I especially like the understandable interface to add extra time, and my husband appreciates the easy option to decrease intensity -- this is making him use it more. One thing I am not happy about, and this is why I only give 4 stars: the LED lights are *incredibly* bright. I try to monitor how much light I am exposed to close to bedtime, and wow, these are like someone is shining a flashlight into my eyes; I have to make sure I am covering up the handle before I turn it on. I try to monitor how much light I am exposed to close to bedtime, and wow, these are like someone is shining a flashlight into my eyes; I have to make sure I am covering up the handle before I turn it on. Please, Philips, consider dampening them; there is no need for that level of brightness in a toothbrush handle. I am currently seeking out stickers to cover them up, or might try a Sharpie. Also, the first handle I bought malfunctioned within about 2 months. But the customer agent was very helpful and friendly, and after a few questions, very quickly sent me a replacement, which is working well.
I purchased this toothbrush to replace an older version. I love this new version. It has 3 different settings to clean and whiten your teeth or gum care. I have not used the whiten setting enough to know if it makes a difference. However, I really like the clean and the gum care settings. The clean setting is strong enough that it feels like it is working, but not too hard where it hurts. The travel case if also improved. With the previous version, it did not allow you to have the toothbrush head cover. This will allow you to keep the cover on the toothbrush head, which is so much better.I highly recommend this toothbrush.
I have been a Sonicare user since the 90s. I purchased this brush to replace my Diamond Care that broke after about two years of use. The Diamond had multiple users in my home and I cannot say with certainty that its early demise was d/t poor quality or the result of careless teenage users. This one however was all me. The brush worked great the first few times. Then it became loud, I mean real loud and basically stopped vibrating the brush. Oddly this is also how the Diamond-clean ended. I went to the store and purchased a replacement head hoping it was just an off connection. Nope, no difference. The handle vibrates well and the post the brush attaches to moves all over the place, but almost no movement is transferred to the brush. Tostado time from purchase to demise… less than a month. My first Sonicare lasted so long that i never had any issues shelling out money when a improved model was released. I'm sad to see the quality have declined so sharply. After all theses years I think I'm breaking up with the Sonicare brand. Their are many new brands with the same or more brushes per minute, greener manufacturing, additional technology, lower price points, and fingers crossed better quality.
The first time I started using the 6100 it was a little strange as I’ve never used an electric toothbrush before. But one of the standout features I really like is the built-in pressure sensor, which alerts you if you're brushing too hard, helping to protect your gums from damage. It also includes a smart timer and pacer, ensuring you brush for the recommended two minutes. I would have preferred a little longer on the timer. The toothbrush comes with a long-lasting battery that provides up to two weeks of use once charged. I actually have gotten over 6 weeks on a single charge.
