Five disc (2CD + 2DVD + Blu-Ray) set. At the end of 1969 and in the early part of 1970, Pink Floyd recorded and mixed their contribution to Michelangelo Antonioni's alternative view of US society, Zabriskie Point. Three songs were released on the soundtrack album, and a further four in the expanded CD edition in 1997. Never released on one Pink Floyd disc, this volume compiles remixed and updated versions of the Zabriskie Point audio material. In the same year, Pink Floyd scored their first UK #1 album with Atom Heart Mother, a collaboration with Ron Geesin, and the audio includes the first performance for the BBC, featuring an orchestra and choir, as well as, on DVD, the original Quad mix. Video material includes a full hour of Pink Floyd performing live at San Francisco cable TV station KQED plus extracts from historic performances of Atom Heart Mother, and material from French TV coverage of the St. Tropez festival in Southern France. This set includes Atom Heart Mother band-only versions, BBC Radio session, Zabriskie Point mixes, concert footage and improvisations, Atom Heart Mother original 4.0 Quad mix and replica memorabilia from the period.

In my opinion this 1970 cd/dvd/blu ray set is the best of all the early years volumes that are sold separately. The cds have a bunch of cool unreleased recordings from the Zabriskie Point sessions and the visual material is almost 2 and a half hours.

Some really great footage of the early Floyd. Wish they would release more.

Floyd's 1970 box is KILLER!! Finally a clean copy of the PBS show in Frisco. Seriously, I waited 50 YEARS for this stuff. All the other early years boxes are great as well. Gimme a spoon, because I just EAT THIS STUFF UP!

Atom Heart Mother quad mix what more could you ask for great sound .great product awesome!!!!!
The Early year box sets are not necessarily the best Pink Floyd releases out there, they’re probably better seen as an archival curiosity. However this one stands out for it’s sound quality and abundance of material. Both CDs are worth a good listen, CD 1 is a great collection of Live Recordings from 1970 and CD 2 is a good companion to the Zabriski Point soundtrack. The DVDs are great too! If you’re thinking of getting just one of these sets then make sure it’s this one.
After seeking 40+ years of bootlegs/ vinyl & video, the estates of all 5 members of The Floyd have graced us with the definitive EARLY YEARS!
great
