I bought this last week and installed it over the weekend. I like the overall look and feel of the unit, its quality and the fact it has (wired) carplay and android auto. The menus are pretty straightforward to use and the remote control is a nice, unexpected bonus. I combined it with the Aerpro fascia kit + primary harness and also a secondary harness. In general very good unit, Android Auto works great, display is bright enough. Volume buttons are a bit hard to adjust (as in the nature of touchscreen buttons). Sound quality and Radio reception is OK, but not great. Missing and Double DIn mounting frame (not included). Over all good unit for the price.

Great mid-priced head unit that’s easy to install. The unit has easy to connect Bluetooth with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto that works smoothly on a bright, clear screen. The sound quality is great with the ability to add a subwoofer easily and comes reverse camera ready. All in all a good unit, nicely featured at a good price.

I just installed and been using it for 24 hours. It’s good BUT… I cannot work out how to turn down the brightness for Apple car play. It doesn’t have setting for it and I’m getting half blinded driving at night. I’ve tuned it down on normal pioneer screen but as soon as it’s Apple car play it brightens up. Cannot work out how to do it, looked YouTube, user manual, gone through all the settings and have to turn the screen off. Even pioneer screen is bit much. Maps are useful with the screen off 🙄
This was pretty much a disaster. The unit was faulty from the outset.Pioneer did replace the unit under warranty but it took time and was somewhat stressful.The replacement unit is fully functional but the sound quality is worse than expected.
I’m a total pioneer fan don’t know why people can’t work it out if a double sun head unit is too much for you to handle or simply you don’t know how to work move on to another head unit it’s not hardI’ve never had problems with pioneer systems as long as you match up the same speakers etc your sound will be wicked and that’s what the trick is don’t go hooking Sony explodes up to it cause those speakers are not tuned for that head unitWith the CarPlay settings you have to check the settings on your actual phone as well not just the head unitRecommendations for speakers for pioneer head units would be the pioneer series 6x9 or 4” and 6 “ if your using stock speakers I highly suggest using different speakers or lower quality head unit
Had nothing but trouble since installing this a year ago. My partner and I got one each for our cars. They both shut down for no reason and won't turn back on unless you turn your car off and then back on. In some cases I have had to disconnect the car battery for it to even turn back on. The screen will randomly go white with coloured lines all through it, and again you can't use it without turning the car off and then back on. Apprently pioneer are aware of these issues. Makes my normal radio aerial signal really bad and apparently a signal booster is needed to even listen to normal radio or certain cars. Phone calls make you sound like you're in a fish bowl and make it hard for people to hear you. Lovely lady in Tuggeranong,very knowledgeable. Had a JVC double din deck. This unit slotted in with the right cables and bingo looks and works great for both our android and iPhone users. Great sound out of the box.
Been hell from day one, work through what I thought were all the issues after multiple firmware updates, replacement looms...now microphone has stopped responding and Bluetooth is distorted(tried multiple phones and applications and files types) android auto sounds good though.Pioneer start off helpful and then once you push for repair/replacement you get ghosted. Not worth it even on sale.
I recently purchased one of these units about 2 weeks ago after the great experience I’d had with my pioneer avh-a205BT i wanted some of the newer features such as CarPlay that my other unit didn’t supportWhen I installed the new pioneer I had issues with my RDS not working like it was supposed to which wasn’t a major issue but was annoyingThe most major issue was that it would randomlyRestart completely and sometimes remain off for several minutes at a time I’ve also had occasions where there was no sound at all until I restarted at the car I ended up putting my older pioneer headunit back into the car because of the issues this one had
