An amazing all round smoker. Lots of room and easy to clean grills. The front collapsible shelf is an awesome convenient and clever function. The only issue with the Pit Boss is that it does not come with a chimney and that it can't be ordered through Bunnings. But in terms of a smoker, it is awesome!

Does not maintain temperature. Ive only had it 6 months and its 100 degrees off in temp, Pitboss does not honor the 1 yr labor warranty they do NOT service their products they want to send a part and they want me to fix it myself. I didnt spend this kind of money to play repair tech,DONT DO BUSINESS WITH PITBOSS!

Great grill, keeps the temp within 15 degrees without a blanket. Good flavor. Love that this can sear the steak! The only really have 2 complaints. The first is after assembiling the Nav 1150 and 850 is that, there are spots where small screws go in the legs and they have not lined up correctly yet. Secondly and more minor, the sliding grate to go from sear to smoke gets stuck after a few cooks and I either have to clean it or wait for it to heat up before I can move it.

Awesome pellet grill with great bang for the buck. Very east to use and understand. The only issue I've seen was putting it together.Several of the holes for screws were not machined correctly and it was impossible to screw in completely. Maybe 1 is one thing but 3-4 is not good.
Pros:- Very great duty. Seems like it'll last a while and hold heat very well.- Easy to assemble. You pretty much just have to build the legs and then attach the top to them.- So far, works flawlessly. Never had a flame out or error.- Temps seem to get where they are at, even when it's cold out.- The folding front shelf is awesome, a must- have in my opinion. The side shelf is nice too. Both come standard on this grill, whereas other brands charge a lot more for the add-ons.- Comes with a perfect fitting rain cover!Cons:- The handle placement is not great. As others have stated, it's pretty easy to burn your arm when you open the lid all the way. You only have to do it once or twice until you learn to be more careful, but I might try to add some kind of ... MorePros:- Very great duty. As others have stated, it's pretty easy to burn your arm when you open the lid all the way. You only have to do it once or twice until you learn to be more careful, but I might try to add some kind of extender to help.- The heat shield (with sliding part to access direct flame) is already showing a little rust. Not sure if a different metal would have helped, but it's unfortunate. It'll probably have to be replaced annually.- The space between the main grates and the top (warming) grate is pretty tight. It can be hard to flip things toward the back of the main grate without hitting the top one. This only matters if you have stuff on top though, since the top grate is removable.- Very minor, but two of the wheels are fixed. It would be easier to move around if they were all on casters. Really not a big deal at all though.
I got it to use as a smoker. Although it does not smoke as much as my offset it does however give a great smokering. Holding a consistent temp is not as good as an electric. I set it to 250 and it will go from 225 to 325. The built in probes seem off as well. I used an external temp probe along with the pit boss and they were about 50 degrees off. Pit boss probe was always below any other thermometer i used. Cleaning is a pain. In order to clean firebox of ashes you have to take all the grates out and the grease plate to access, and you have to do this every 3 to 5 uses. The firebox is small and in the center so you get uneven temps across your grilling area. I got it on sale and used some rewards money so I wasnt out of pocket much. If i had paid full price im not sure i would keep it. Not a great grill either. Again, firebox is in the middle so as long as your burger is right about its ok, but if you want to take advantage of the 850 sq in cooking area be warned. Even at full temp it wasnt great at just grilling. It is built solid though. Decent size wheels. Pellet grills have come along way but still need some improvement.
This pit fits all my needs, and makes all aspects of cooking meat easy. Although easy doesn't me quick. Some things just take time. My experiences with ACE were very pleasant. I highly recommend ACE and my Pit Boss Navigator.
I’ve had this for a couple of months now and it is amazing. It truly is set and forget for the most part. I’ve done multiple low and slow briskets with beautiful bark and smoke rings, (use a pellet box or pellet tube if you want extra smoke) jerky, hot chillies and even flash baked pizza on a stone. The only drawback is not having a smoke stack but you can buy them aftermarket as there is a factory removable slot. I would love if I could buy an extra shelf for the base of the unit. As far as pellets go, I’ve had great results with traeger and GMG brand. Don’t use Samba; they’re a waste of time. Will be experimenting with the pit boss cherry pellets which my local Bunnings have in stock now.I cover my grill plate in foil and clean it and vacuum the ash after every ... MoreI’ve had this for a couple of months now and it is amazing. Yes it’s extra work but it saves you in the long run and keeps the beast doing the job it should do each and every time. Another hack - if you don’t like the mesh grate that sits on top of the hopper you can unscrew it and leave it uncovered for easy access to move pellets around/refill.All in all I am very happy, just need to invest in another tray, smoke stack, and a cover. couldn’t recommend it enough.
Wouldnt recommend buying from best buy worth going to lowes. I had a missing part and was essentialy told they couldnt do anything. The grill itself felt like it wasnt worth what i paid they seem to give you the single handed worst screws ever invented which left stripped. Also seemed as if craftman ship was poor with excessive black sealant. How ever besides small inconveniences the grill itself works really well and was easy to assemble. Just in case of issues would recommend going to lowes will they will actually help. In case you were wondering the navigator does not have bluetooth pitboss 1150 pro would be better
If you’ve been looking for a smoker and figuring out what one to get, this is the one! It looks great, it’s a breeze to use and most importantly makes some great tasting BBQ! I would recommend investing in an external wifi thermometer however, because pellet smokers are known not to be the most accurate with built in thermometers. I will say the lid does leak a bit of smoke as you can see in the picture attached but it doesn’t affect the flavour too much, easy remedy with a smoker barrel seal tape. I’ve also found the temperature can swing +-20C which isn’t great but you can remedy this via the “P Setting” which takes some trial and error, which is more so why an external thermometer is important. I was also very pleased with the customer support locally as I was ... MoreIf you’ve been looking for a smoker and figuring out what one to get, this is the one!
