This is a must have accessory if you like gaming for long sessions. The dual sense battery life is abysmal, so I’ve paired this with 2 controllers and hot swap them when the battery warning pops up. This is very convenient, but not cost effective. I wish the batteries lasted longer like the Switch pro controller, but here we are.The one real complaint I have is that you need to be deliberate when placing controllers on the dock. If you place them at the wrong angle they won’t connect and charge.

It plugs in to an outlet itself and is not connected to the system in any way. I've only noticed it charging when the system was in rest mode, but I have yet to read the manual it came with. Getting the controllers in just right can be a hassle.Given that this is made by Sony For Sony you'd think they'd make sure that this little detail wasn't an issue. It's not like they couldn't customize both items to work very well and fit snugly together. Design decisions were made. Bad ones.It still works pretty good but -2 stars for not being well-thought out.

The pro is that it makes it much easier to replace the ends that either plug in to the dock or the end that goes to the wall which is also the same connector that has been in use since the PS2 making replacement cables easy to find if you have an older console. And it adds extra length to the power cord making it easier to place your charger. The con is that it's not USB C or able to connect directly to your PS5.Nothing takes away from what it does though which is charge your controllers and gives a nice way to display them, and takes up less space than laying the controllers flat and charging ... Definitely a no-nonsense dock.Pros:-convening to use-keeps controllers topped up-relatively inexpensiveCons:-to controller doesn’t locate itself into the dock as easily as one might assume, it takes some fiddling with it on occasion. Minor but worth noting.-it’s powered via AC cord to the old DC barrel connector, would’ve preferred to see USB type C on both ends.All things considered it’s a nice dock that compliments the PS5. In short it’s a slight quality of life enhancement. For 30 bucks, I’d definitely recommend.
Given its price, I wasn't sure if this would be the official charging station but when it arrived I was pleasantly surprised.There's no need to click in the controller like you had to for the PlayStation 4 models. This is simply a case of resting the controller in the dock and letting the metal contacts on both parts do the work.The white metal fins match the PlayStation 5's wavey metal fins perfectly. It's stupidly cute, almost as if the PlayStation had had a baby :DThe official controllers don't have the longest battery life in the world so this is a must-have.I'm genuinely happy with this purchase which is rare—nothing to find fault with at all.
