Since we've order this product we had the issue from the start untill actual building it self.Wood has been dumped and not straight which kept causing splits whilst putting screws in. The screws are unfit for purpose as bearly hold parts together as well as few missing . Luckly for us husband holds a lot of spares. If you are not with good supply of tools and screws then GOOD LUCK TO YOU.

Excellent quality from Plum

Excellent quality, easy to follow instructions. Second man makes construction smoother and easy to add extra safety with a little DIY skill. Comes with an adult/older children’s swing, plum and other companies supply baby swings like the one in the image separately

Good sale price but not worth the money full price

I got this in the Easter promotion and it’s reasonably good and sturdy. I changed the ladders to the side to give a bit more room off the end of the slide. It took two of us around 4 hours to build. I had to use some of my own screws as I found some of the screws porpoises didn’t bite too well. For reference you need an adjustable spanner, a 13mm and 17mm socket set and an impact driver to put it together. Oh and a mallet! The rubber pavers I used are from Homebase. I just made a 4x4m base from treater timber.

Good set, terrible instructions
2 May 2023

we purchased this a week ago and were thrilled it showed up much earlier than expected. The product is exactly as advertised, but the instructions are horrendous. It was so hard to follow because none of the sides of the wood were labelled. Most beams were numerically labeled so you could sort which was used at which time, but the support beams look remarkably similar, and two of them had swapped numbers. This led to multiple pull aparts and redos. Some of the wood is cracked in portions already, but the structure style itself seems sturdy. We likely will add a couple of extra support beams in the future. It’s a great size for a kid to grow into. Our extremely active 4 year old is challenged with the climbing wall and finds the slide large and exciting. Good value and lots of fun.

The delivery was a bit hit and miss as it was delayed without notice so I wasted a day at home waiting. Then it arrived in two parts. Once we had everything though, a couple of pieces were damaged but we carried on with the build. The main reason that the build takes so long is because the instructions are not very clear. You have to carefully check the images to see which way the holes go, and if you do it wrong, then you end up having to undo and redo, which we had to do a couple of times. But once built and tightened, it is actually pretty sturdy and definitely suitable for 2 - 3 kids at a time up to 11 years old. Our kids love it, gives them exercise and hours of fun. The water hose attachment on the slide is a great idea. Pity it doesn't fit standard hose ... MoreThe delivery was a bit hit and miss as it was delayed without notice so I wasted a day at home waiting. Then it arrived in two parts. You will probably have to paint/re-stain it after a year, but otherwise, good value.

Great Play-set to keep little ones entertained
16 April 2023

My 4 year old loves this play set. Plenty to keep him occupied, love the extra touches of the phone & binoculars. Tricky to put together full day event, instructions could be clearer, but well made, sturdy, & looks great. Years of fun to be had, & the price from Very could not be neaten.

Lots of fun while it lasted.

I have just disassembled this unit which has been used by my grandchildren throughout CoVid, so just less than 3 years. It was assembled by a contractor as Lockdowns meant I could not do it but contractors could. All the bolts & screws have rusted badly as they were not of outdoor "galvanised" quality. Although the timber was initially oiled or treated for outdoor protection many pieces have cracked badly and the unit was becoming unstable which is why I have removed it. I am looking at trying to repair and restore it but it will not be a cheap exercise needing to purchase 42 galvanised bolts and over 200 galvanised screws plus various pieces of cracked timber. While the children enjoyed playing on it you can not look at it as an investment but rather, ... MoreI have just disassembled this unit which has been used by my grandchildren throughout CoVid, so just less than 3 years. My autistic grandson just loves it!
15 July 2023

As he can’t go out to play, like other 8 year olds, my autistic grandson has loved standing on an old slide looking over the fence, so we bought him this. Instructions not too clear at first but ok once it started being built. Solid! We bought a round swing to go on it, g.son loves to ‘twirl’. He loves all of it. I’m very pleased with it.

Plum tower and swings
19 June 2022

My children absolutely love this swing set and tower. Having three toddlers who fight over every toy this has been magic for us. Theres plenty of fun to be had by them all at the same time and they play for hours on it too. Its definatley a 2man job to build and set yourself out plenty of time as it took us 2 evenings to do. It comes in small packages with just the slide and 7 long planks so delivery is easy and can fit inside. All the parts comes numbered so putting them in order first helped save us a lot of time. The instructions are sufficient but could be a little more detailed as we had to go back on a couple of bits to adjust so it pays to look a few steps forward before you screw anything in. For example it didnt specify if the slats on the roof shoukd be in ... MoreMy children absolutely love this swing set and tower. So we had to go back to move the planks down in order to fit them all, small details like that are missing on a fee occasions. Now that its up its strong and sturdy but I will be doing some kind of treatment on the wood as it is unfinished.

complete disaster- don't buy at all

Avoid!! We only got part way through construction on this but there were loads of problems and we're both pretty competent with carpentry. A number of the pieces were already splintered, and the construction was a disaster from the get-go. Some of the items were mis-labelled - basically, they updated a previous version of the product, replaced those planks but then didn't change the accompanying parts so it is disjointed. One of the pieces was completely twisted so it is really impossible to sort it out.I deliberately ordered this item from JL rather than elsewhere because of the JL reputation for good quality products. I did see the previous review and assumed that they would have sorted it out with Plum Toys but they clearly haven't. I realise now that the ... MoreAvoid!!
