"Try these drives. They are great!"

The drives are fast. I run them through a Thunderbolt external PCI-E enclosure in a Raid-0 setup, so I expect to not get the full speeds as advertised. Regardless, the write speeds exceed 3000 MB and the reads reach about 2850. MB. I know...the writes are faster than the reads? Yes, and that's fine with me. Feel free to purchase these drives for whatever configuration you need. You won't be disappointed!

Good DL/XL Blueray Burner, but needs two USB 2.0 cables

This is a good SL/DL/XL Blue Ray Burner. I have been using it to burn DL Blue Ray disks. It is doing a good job. The only problem I have with it is that it needs two USB 2.0 cables, one for the data and the other to provide extra power and the cables that came with it are so short that you have to buy an extension cable to reach the USB port on my computer. This was apparently done so that it could be powered entirely by a Laptop computer somewhere that AC power was unavailable. I am using it with my Desktop computer at home, so the arrangement is a little awkward.

Good Drive but Feckless Bundled Software

The drive has good functionality and uses an additional USB port to offset its power draw during some applications. It also has an external power input socket. I would prefer its included instructions include mention of appropriate input power so that users could use external power at times instead of tying up two USB ports on their laptops. The provided software is useless as is its "free update" in WIN 11. Buyers are advised to buy the drive and appropriate software separately.

Great portable disc player/burner
5 July 2022

The device is great, and works as advertised. I've been riooing CDs and watching blu ray movies. I do have a prroblem with the Cyber software. It hangs, glitches, runs multiple instances and has to be managed through task manager frequently. I would recommend a different player/burner software. Nero used to be good. Don't know what its turned into lately.

I bought this SSD to add to my new Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 15.6" (2021 model). The Galaxy Book Pro has an M.2 2230 SSD by default, and it's hard to find a 1TB with 2230 or is expensive if it is available. Good thing the laptop has an extra M.2 2280 NVME slot for upgrades. So instead of replacing the SSD, I just got this PNY CS2130 1TB as an additional drive. The installation was quick and easy, the laptop was able to recognize and formatted it without any problem. I won't go over the details of the read/write speeds of this drive, but I can tell, this one is very snappy. I was able to open up 64 megapixels RAW images in Adobe Lightroom really quick, and exporting these images into jpegs to the drive is fast. Before, when I am exporting a hundred images to a spinning drive, I can stand up, get some coffee before it gets done. But with this setup, I don't even have time to stand for it to finish exporting a hundred images. I've been using this drive for barely a week now, and I am impressed. If this lasts me at least 5 years, then it's worth it. Highly recommendable.

It runs as described, its fast! but if you intend to use this with heavy IO and run it under very heavy loads this thing runs blazing hot. I have a two of these M.2's with: https://www.Home Essentials Direct.com/gp/product/B082VTVP51/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and so far the highest temp they got is 51c in a server case running 7 fans at 7000RPM You might want to try a better Heatsink out. UPDATE! - Speeds diminished by 50% when the drive is 75% full. this is a huge disappointment. I'm just fed up with these drives.... For $30 more you can get a much much better performing drive.

The product overall is amazing and it worked so well I returned the 1TB for the 2TB. These companies that make the advertising artwork are misleading as the speeds vary with the sizes you buy. The pictures show the 3000mbps write speed for both sizes when you can see it says only 1800mbps on the box. I'm sure I'm not the first to buy the 1TB and see the wrong speed on the box compared to the promotional advertisements shown. As a gamer I got this for a laptop and usually it takes 40-60 mins to write a copy of GTA 5 which is 95gb. This magical unicorn does it in 2-4 mins and saves me so much time, I've posted a video so you can see the speed. This is lightning fast and a great product, im very pleased and you will be too.

Update: read speeds are only 1800 MB/s, which is very disappointing since this drive is advertised to reach up to 3000 MB/s. Have to knock off 2 stars for that. Better than a SATA drive, but spend the extra money to buy a Samsung 800 or 900 series. Works flawlessly on an ASRock Z170 Pro4. Installed Windows 10 to this drive with no issues. File copy speeds far surpass those of my old sata SSD (and especially my old HDD too). Bought mainly because in January 2021, this 1 TB NVME SSD had the fewest top critical reviews on Home Essentials Direct. Will update if I have any issues.

When I first installed the SSD, the sequential write speeds did reach up to 3000MB/s. Now that it is nearly full (88%) the sequential write speed has fallen to ~1000MB/s. I used to have the Samsung 970EVO 500GB and that drive was fast but I was struggling with the capacity as you can tell since I have already used up 88% of 2TiB. The performance difference to me is not perceivable so I would take the 2TiB capacity over the fast and consistent speeds. (1000MB/s sequential write is still good enough for me). I don't do any photo/video editing or any I/O heavy tasks, only use the drive for my OS, games, web browsing/e-mails, discord, etc. Using the Final Fantasy XIV Shadowbringers Benchmark, my average total load times were about 14.5 seconds which is extremely good ... MoreWhen I first installed the SSD, the sequential write speeds did reach up to 3000MB/s. If the price difference isn't too much, probably go for the XLR8 or CS3030 drive instead for the consistent write speeds. I'm assuming that drive will perform better as it fills up (they have the same specs at 2TiB). All in all, I am satisfied with my purchase

You can find equivalent for less
23 February 2023

Misleading description. Yes, the HW supports BD, but the (very) outdated Cyberlink SW that comes with it does NOT. You will have to spend an additional $50 to $200 to get software to use this optical drive to play blu-ray discs. Quite honestly, I haven't had time to do any recording with this drive, but the reason I bought it was to play blu-ray discs. If you could read the fine print on the front of the box you would see "UltraHD, 4K, HD Media Playback" and then in fine print to the left of that text is "This drive is not supported to playing UltaHD Blu-ray Disc"(sic). RED FLAG
