Featuring extended protection zones around the temples and the back of the head, the Tectal ensures trail riders stay protected in key risk areas. Thicker zones in the helmet liner enhance protection where it is needed most, yet it's easy to keep the helmet on all day thanks to an innovative ventilation design tested in the wind tunnel, which ensures optimum cooling even at lower speeds.

Absolutely brilliant helmet design, fit, function, and appearance. Comes with spare padding! Comes with a storage bag to protect that silky mat finish. I've used mainly Giro throughout my 30 years of riding. This thing puts to rest any Giro I've ever had.The visor adjustment actually makes me giddy. The visor is infinitely adjustable on a micro rail system with adjuster knob (very nice!).This Piece Of Cake takes the cake.

I initially purchased an XL which was my error in converting cm to inches. I returned the larger helmet and ordered the same in a M-L size. That one fit perfect and I have been using it on rides in S Orange County and Big Bear. Fantastix helmet. Feels great, excellent air flow. Looks great. Get one for yourself, you will not be disappointed.

But not with this helmet. My problem is that I can't seem to resist buying helmets. I actually have two Tectal helmets currently. I also have 5 other POC helmets. As well as countless helmets from other brands (all of which are currently collecting dust in a closet). My point of this isn't to break my arm patting myself on the back as an owner of many helmets, but instead to drive home the fact that I've been around the helmet block a few times, and my opinion, there is no better all-around MTB helmet than the Tectal. Enough coverage, but not too much, I always feel like I'm covered in a crash. The visor is just the right length, with enough adjustability to get low when you're racing the sunset (or sunrise), and high enough to get out of the way on the steeps. And while helmet fit is certainly subjective, the Tectal has enough adjustment to find that perfect fit.To sum up, finding a better helmet than the Tectal is a tall order, especially when one factors in POC's exceptional customer service. The Tectal never disappoints!

So far i’m enjoying the helmet, i could’ve gone bigger but i settled for M/L it feels a little tight around my side of head but not too bad. I followed the sizing guide but everyones different. It does hit my oakleys eye protection but manageable like the other reviewer mentioned. the dial adjuster in the back is easy to access for flush feel and to lock the helmet down. The helmet straps feel great around the neck. It comes with a bag for storage and extra accessories to interchange inside padding. Great buy, paid $150 shipped to my doorstep on Black Friday. Cheers!!
Read the prior reviews saying it was an odd fit, but gave it a try anyway. The helmet is indeed an odd fit. It pushes forward on the forehead and sits on your eyebrows, so didn't work with any of the 3 sunglasses types I tried. And beyond that, it wasn't as comfortable sitting that far forward. Head sizes and experiences may vary, but this POC option sits much differently than other helmets on my dome.
The Tectal and Tectal SPIN are super lightweight, very ventilated, size adjustable helmets suited for trail riding and light enduro. I use my POC Tectal SPIN for just about anything from cruising around town to just short of a downhill course. The fit and finish of the seams and pads is impeccable and the design looks very appealing. This is the 4th POC helmet I've added to my arsenal and I'll continue to buy and recommend them!
Solid and well thought out design from POC. I have a Trabec but my son and daughter both have Tectals and really like them. No sloppiness and dialfit to adjust quickly and easily. The strap system is very simple to find the perfect lengths of each of the "Y" on each side which was historically frustrating for kids. The adjustable visor feature is a nice touch (compared to my old Trabec). POC will continue to be our go-to helmet brand.
Helmet is great in general, v-comfy, no hotspots on long rides. Took a couple rides to realise you could adjust the back height. I couldn’t see this any any of the literature with the helmet or online. The tensioner still the back is also quite hard to twist/adjust, there’s just not a whole lot of room around it. I like that the peak is the same colour all the way through and doesn’t show scratches. This is a quality helmet and the fit is top notch.
This is a brilliant piece of gear. It's one of the only helmets I can wear without having pain in the upper neck / lower skull on longer distances. Yet it delivers full side and "upper neck" protection. Since I'm pretty sensitive to light, the fact you can adjust the visor is also a great feature. Maybe the only tiny downside : I'm missing two sticky rubber parts to prevent sunglasses from moving once I don't want them on my face.
Super comfortable helmet; definitely the best fit I have ever had in a bike helmet. I had a high speed crash this morning when my pedal hit a stump hiding in the grass. I flew through the air and landed on the back of my head. There is a sharp rock embedded in the back of the helmet and the back of the helmets shell is all broken up. I put it on the bench beside the helmet it replaced and where all the damage is on the new POC helmet the old helmet has no protection. The new helmet's extra coverage definitely saved me serious injury.
