Beautiful game, gameplay quite simple and controls a little bit awkward at times but would be great for children and while not challenging for me I'm sure families would have a lot of fun with it. The story is ok, cute but after doing the levels a bit it starts to all feel the same. Recommend for children so Nintendo is doing ok for the target audience. For people like me looking to play for nostalgia purposes the game is too easy.

I was so excited when this was announced during the Pokemon Direct! Easily one of my favorite remakes for the Switch!Gameplay: Plays almost similarly to the original, though recruitment has been made easier through certain rare qualities. Controls are straightforward. Difficulty increases drastically in the post game.Story: It's short but sweet, it took me less than a week to make it to the post game. No changes from the original other than some camera angles being played with during certain eventsArt Style: Adorable! Matches well to the illustrations made for the originalDifficulty: Story dungeons feel easy but post game is much harder. You will need to grind later in the game.Overall this is a great game! The story is identical to the original Rescue Team games. In fact, almost all text is the same. I highly recommend playing the demo. However, you do not get to befriend Pokemon in the demo, which does the game an injustice. As a fan of the originals, I found the following changes very appealing: * You can have a party of up to 8 in a dungeon if pokemon join your team. This is very fun. * Pokemon that were originally unrecruitable, such as Dragonite, can now be recruited regularly. * You can hold many more accepted job requests. You no longer have to pick wisely. * All pokemon gain experience, including those not on the adventure. I did not regret buying this game one bit.

This game has caused nothing but anger and frustration in my house. My kids pooled their money to buy it, and now they both wish they could return it. The game is engineered to force each person to have their own Switch hardware, much like a DS.The problem is that multiple Switch users are forced to share an island and compete for resources. Everything one user does affects all other users on the system, so essentially there is only one save file common to all users. My daughter started the island and started building a village. She laid out a plan for what resources she needed and how to spend her in-game currency. Everything one user does affects all other users on the system, so essentially there is only one save file common to all users. My daughter started the island and started building a village. She laid out a plan for what resources she needed and how to spend her in-game currency. My son waited patiently for his turn and started a "new" game under his profile and began harvesting/collecting resources, but soon discovered that he cannot build any houses or add to the village since it's my daughter's island. Now that he has cut down trees and smashed up the big rocks on the island, she has to wait several days in real-time for them to respawn. Neither of them can progress right now.My daughter rarely plays the Switch, but she was so much looking forward to this game that she decided that the easiest way around the sharing issues was to use all of her savings to buy a Switch Lite. We soon discovered that, unlike with other Switch games, Animal Crossing data cannot be moved to a new Switch! And we cannot make my son the owner of their island, so his progress will always be limited by a user profile that won't get played anymore. Both of my kids are proud of the progress they managed to make during the past week, and neither wants to start over, but it's a lose-lose situation for everyone.
This is a good games but, I have a slight problem with it . The way it controls. The environments are 3d and you can used the joystick to play the game don't get me wrong but your locked in 8 directions of movement. This wouldn't be so bad if the base switch had an actual dpad but since your left with buttons its kinda funky to move around as is. But add the fact the dpad is in a TERRIBLE spot its kinda a headache to play in my option. Like do you go with the controls what give your hand a bit of a cramp but you can get a better sense of the movement or do you go with the one that feels better on your hand but gives you (in my option) worse movement. But besides the controls the game looks pretty and the story (to what I got up to) is really good. i just stopped ... MoreThis is a good games but, I have a slight problem with it . If you ever played the original Blue/Red Mystery Dungeon Pokemon games on the DS this is a must have! Well if you enjoyed those game of course. This is a great updated version of those classic games on a great system. All the main mechanics and main story are roughly the same. The art style has been updated a bit and overall quality seems a bit more rounded for the Switch. I'm really enjoying this game and definitely recommend picking it up and trying it out if you can!
TL;DR nice remake of the original blue rescue team, worth a shot definetely. This is a remake of the very first Mystery Dungeon game: Red and Blue Rescue Team for the DS and GBA, and it does a very good job of retelling the story. It takes about 25-30 hours to beat the game. It's relatively easier than the orginal I'll give it that, but you've obviously not played post game if you think it holds your hand throughout the entire time. Post game is definitely difficult and can give you a challenge, but it does so in a way where it is optional so that it doesn't scare off those who are new to the series. The artwork and design is charming. The music has even more impact than before. Which was never available like this before!, they had the password system but you can't really use it unless you have a friend that owns/plays the game or you know a community that actively still plays (which in 2005/2006 wasn't that big in a lot of places)So the fact that now you can rescue people via online is a huge step, because you can just check the requests as if they are on your daily bulletin. Rescuing people online is also a great way to get more points for ranking up, you get rare items as rewards, AND you feel like a real rescue team for saving someone not just an NPC!
Simple game, but not bad - just a bit too drawn out and grindy. Gameplay mostly involves around entering a set of dungeons with other pokemon, delving on average 4-10 floors down to find a 'lost pokemon' or similar. That process is mostly grinding and not very exciting. Upon doing this, you gain items and in-game money to further expand your access to pokemon and consumable items. The main charming element of this gameplay are the (still basic) cutscenes that follow a plotline surrounding the broken state of the world. Talking pokemon can be entertaining, just know that the core is pretty monotonous. I'd recommend this only to specific friends.
This game is a remake of mystery dungeon red team and blue. Red team is what got me into pokemon. I have a lot of childhood memories playing the original during one summer break. I feel the lack of variety of gummis and other certain items makes this game feel a little easy, but it does clutter up your storage. Boss battles felt way too easy during the main story but the cutscenes leading up and after the fight completely redone and look amazing. Overall I really liked this game, it changed what it needed to the gameplay, that it stays true to the original
i’m not going to bullshxt you here. this game is gorgeous. and i’m not just saying that because i played it in the seventh grade with my friend sara. i’m saying this because it is the truth. the art style has been updated and the classic dungeon crawler with a pokémon tint is HERE and it is here to stay. well, at least until animal crossing comes out. i mean, come on, so they not have a release schedule buffer? animal crossing is right around the corner guys, i can’t finish this before it comes out. and you already know: when animal crossing comes out, everything else goes to the cosmos. i’m talking divine separation from my ability to concentrate on anything else that isn’t animal crossing. alright bottom linethis game is good. it’s pretty. old school dungeon ... Morei’m not going to bullshxt you here. this game is gorgeous. and i’m not just saying that because i played it in the seventh grade with my friend sara. i’m saying this because it is the truth. the art style has been updated and the classic dungeon crawler with a pokémon tint is HERE and it is here to stay. well, at least until animal crossing comes out. i mean, come on, so they not have a release schedule buffer? animal crossing is right around the corner guys, i can’t finish this before it comes out. and you already know: when animal crossing comes out, everything else goes to the cosmos. i’m talking divine separation from my ability to concentrate on anything else that isn’t animal crossing. alright bottom linethis game is good. it’s pretty. old school dungeon crawling rpg game for the switch. it works for kids. it works for me. my dog i’ll eventually grow up and play this game too. if the regular pokémon games were too hard for you then this will bemuse you as well, just in a different way. 5/5 stars. would take a test to become a mudkip only to get totodile like an idiot and then retake the test to get my desired outcome again.
