We purchased three Ralph Lauren Polo shirts, both mesh and soft cotton, size large, classic fit, June 2024, assuming they would fit like previous shirts from 1-2 years ago. My husband looks weird in the new "classic fit" polo of 2024. The shirts are narrow, straight, short; sleeves are narrow, short. So disappointed in the style. Looks like a quasi classic/slim fit, and he does not want to wear them. Money spent for nothing--he must continue to wear the old sz large "classic fit" polos until he finds a brand that fits.

I am currently fighting stage 4 Ovarian cancer. Our color that represents us is teal. My husband loves polo. He owns so many different colors but he does not have a teal one so I got him this one for Fathers Day. These polo shirts can be washed and worn for years. They are not cheap but they are made to last. I know he is going to love it and he represent Ovarian cancer when he wears it.

It's hard to find shirts that are 100% cotton these days. Like all Ralph Lauren shirts, it fits me fine in the body but a bit tight around the neck compared to other polo shirt brands at the same size (medium). Take that into account if you plan on buttoning it up all the way. But if you don't like to button up your polos all the way, it shouldn't be an issue. It's clearly a high quality shirt and I really appreciate that it's all natural fiber and no synthetic threads. I would highly recommend this shirt.

Bought two of same size and same fit, but one was with lower quality fabric (stiff and rough) and also the size was way small. The difference? One made in Turkey and one in Vietnam. If I have to guess product made in Vietnam was meant to be sold at outlet malls at a lower price. Someone decided to mix it up to make a few extra bucks! That's how corporates work, its all about profits! I am taking the time to write this is because this is second time happened to me in a last three years, meaning this was not one time mix-up. Returning!!!
I normally wear an XL shirt. I bought two polos and the XL is gigantic one me. It's like a dress and the sleeves are really long. I exchanged them for size large. The large length is perfect, but the shoulder width is way off. The shirt is so tight on my shoulders, I can't wear it. I am really disappointed because I really like these shirts. Now I have $140 worth of shirts that will be donated to the Goodwill. And my search for a polo shirt that fits continues. Right now, Volcom make the only polo that fit me.
Most clothing i bought from Macy's online had to be reuturned due to poor quality or fitting and stitching finish. It seems they selleing compromising merchandise to online shoppers, I have been wearing same brands for years and never had this issue, even if i buy in store its completely different. Watch out for last call items as they are not returnable. Very bad business strategy by Macy's. Not to mention giving bad name to top brands as they selling cheaper quality to online shoppers for the same price as in person shopping.
I been wearing the mesh polo shirt for 30 years but the quality in the past 4 or 5 years has deteriorated. The collars either shrink up tight or lay flat but with ends at the front curling up. It looks terrible like a cheap shirt. Also the ribbing on the sleeves(short sleeve) folds up and does not have the elasticity of the older shirts. Again, this is a cheap low quality shirt feature. I bought these shirts at a Macy’s and also at a Polo outlet store. I’m done with polo. They are now low quality and high priced I’m sad to say.
I purchased this shirt in navy (with red logo) in a size XL for a gentleman celebrating his 42nd birthday. He recently wore it to a country club brunch that requires a shirt with a collar. It was perfect. Casual, but fit the dress requirement. I would definitely buy it again and recommend it to others. In fact, I’m going to take another look and possibly buy one for my husband for Father’s Day!
My husband and son have been wearing these polo shirts all their adult lives. We know they shrink a little and are careful of settings when washing. This is the first time the shrinkage was so large so that they are no longer wearable. Such a waste. I also compared a new unwashed polo to a new unwashed polo bought two years ago. The newer one was 2 inches shorter. So disappointed in the brand.
I've been wearing polo shirts for over 50 years, and have had pretty well every brand. But they just don't last like RL: I've still got some that are nearly 20 years old and they're still going strong. So RL are more expensive than most - but as they last 3 or 4 times as long as other makes, they're better value. And because they're THE classic polo, they never date. And. of course, they look good! It's just a shame that so few retailers, e.g. John Lewis, only stock Custom Slim and not Classic fit. Classic is slightly wider and has slightly longer sleeves, but still fits well across the shoulders - so better for the less-than-perfect physique 🤣. I now buy online direct from RL to get them.
