This Parfum has a great sweetness much better pulled off and honed in on than in the EDP, with the notes also better blended overall imo. It has an awesome red candy apple-ish top to me that blends really well into the absinthe shortly after and remains on the sweet side but draws back some. I notice the EDP has a good amount more woodiness as it dries with a spice to it as well which doesn’t help it imho. The Parfum’s light spice and woodiness blend much better with its sweetness and the absinthe note is prominent and apparent once you identify it. It’s typically presented in a very sweet way in most compositions and you can smell a similar absinthe note in Invictus Platinum which is also a sweet and sporty fragrance. The Red Parfum isn’t as sweet and isn’t a sweet overdose by any means but it does possess a very likable and tempered sweetness from the absinthe bolstered heavily by the sweet myrrh to my nose deep into the dry down. I find it very pleasant and I am impressed with what Polo has been bringing to the table lately with the Blue Parfum in particular and now this Red Parfum. Also love the aesthetic and form of the new bottles, the Red has a transparent dark cherry colored bottle and looks sleek with the gunmetal cap and accents. It is refillable too which Ralph Lauren is doing more now with new releases.

Ralph Lauren has done something quite special with this release. The note that stands out to me in this fragrance, is the absinthe. After the first stage of the opening, absinthe influences nearly all stages of this profile. The opening is a familiar burst of citrus and sweetness with a peppery texture that is common to the Red line. After the opening, Red Parfum settles into a very absinthe-forward profile that can be challenging. The mid is a bit green like fennel, coming from the absinthe, and a bit musky. The freshness of the opening withdraws completely and you're left with a kind of fougère profile as the lavender and orris mixes in to create a slightly soapy, slightly green accord that I wouldn’t hesitate to call fresh. The freshness of the opening withdraws completely and you're left with a kind of fougère profile as the lavender and orris mixes in to create a slightly soapy, slightly green accord that I wouldn’t hesitate to call fresh. Overall this scent plays out quite dynamically, it is sometimes bitter like a tonic water accord, and then sometimes sweet but green, as woods, opoponax, and musk come forward. In the very late stages of drydown, this fragrance becomes a very smooth, almost creamy wood scent. This is actually my favourite part of the scent's performance, but it takes a good 4-6 hours to get there. Performance is typical of a parfum. It projects 10-12 feet for about an hour or two, and then draws back to an intimate bubble for 10+ hours. That musky-wood mixed with sweet opoponax set of base notes lasts hours and hours as a skin scent that is quite pleasant. Red Parfum is best suited as a quirky pick for someone who wants to intrigue, but not necessarily advertise. The notes here are unusual for such a well-known designer, and I would not say Red Parfum is a crowd pleaser. I found the absinthe-infused middle act to be challenging and wavering in its appeal. I think Ralph Lauren should have gone with an anise or "black licorice" note in place of absinthe to keep the profile more consistently sweet or woody, instead of the slightly bitter fennel/reedy accord that absinthe produces. In a word, the middle act of Red Parfum is "inconsistent." The late-stage drydown corrects the wobbly track, and it becomes a pleasant and appealing skin scent. The question becomes whether waiting 4-6 hours to get the best part of the fragrance to appear is worth it.

Polo Red Parfum is a new iteration of the family of fragrances Ralph Lauren offers. Adding an aromatic and citrusy take to the Polo Red Line, known for having one of the best fragrances from Ralph Lauren, Polo Red Extreme. While this new release does not offer something similar to the fragrance I had just mentioned, it does bring a new twist to the line. For starters, the opening to this fragrance left me scratching my head. Not in a horrible way, but more because I was trying to piece the puzzle together. For starters, the opening to this fragrance left me scratching my head. Not in a horrible way, but more because I was trying to piece the puzzle together. This fragrance opens up bright, with a citric smell from the bergamot and sweetness from the blood orange, sprinkled with a hint of pink pepper, adding a spicy aroma to the already citrusy sweet opening. As the fragrance evolves, notes of Orris, Absinthe, and Lavender come to fruition and take this fragrance down a different path. Orris adds a powdery and earthy take, while lavender adds a clean, aromatic touch to the scent. As for absinthe, this note contributed to the fragrance with a sharp opening which threw me off. Absinthe in Polo Red Parfum reminded me of nutmeg with a sweet, semi-pungent undertone. Polo Red Parfum's base notes include; musk, opoponax, and cedar. While I don't get much of the cedar and musk, I can sense that the opoponax adds warmth and sweetness to the composition. Overall this fragrance opens up rough around the edges, but as it dries down, it becomes sophisticated and clean with an edge of sweetness. All the notes blend to offer a citrus, aromatic, and powdery experience. A clean and classy scent! As a fragrance collector, who is just starting, I wanted to take some time to test out this new release. I believe in always trying out fragrances before purchasing a bottle, so you can see if it is right for you and meets your criteria. Throughout the weeks, I enjoyed this fragrance and what it offered. While yes, it is nothing new, sometimes you have to appreciate the changes a brand makes. Ralph Lauren, to me, always made fragrances that never moved me or piqued my interest. The only exception is Polo Red Extreme. Polo Red Parfum does leave a lot to desire. Performance in this fragrance is one of its weak points, at least for me. The price you are paying for designer fragrances should also reflect their quality. I know it's not a niche scent or that performance is an absolute turn-off. But knowing there are fragrances with a similar profile and better performance, I prefer to keep exploring. That said, I did get around 6-7 hours of longevity with about 2 hours of projection. Again, not horrible, but for a Parfum, I expected prolonged longevity. To answer the golden question. "Do I recommend it?" "Is it worth it?" To me, it is not worth it. But I recommend it! This fragrance, juxtaposition to the rest of the Polo Red Line, is a new direction that Ralph Lauren wants to take. The Red Line consisted of heavy, warm, and sweet profile fragrances with hints of citrus. That was all stripped away with this release and made more mass appealing, which is what brands are doing now. If you want to smell unique, this won't be it. Now, if you want a clean, aromatic, and semi-sweet fragrance that will garner compliments, this will be the one. In conclusion, this is a solid mass appealing release worth trying. Remember to be patient, never pay retail prices and wait for fragrances to be on discounter. Thank you, Ralph Lauren and Influester, for sending me this fragrance to test. Remember that this is just my opinion and that what I like you might not like and vice versa.

I was sent this product for free by Influenster for a honest review. I was excited about polo red parfum because they have been advertising absinthe as a key note and kinda a main attraction of this fragrance if you will. Upon testing and wearing the fragrance the excitement quickly wore off and was left with a feeling of disappointment, confusion, and torn. How that came to be was from advertising and written reviews I had read you already start to try and get a sense of what it would be like some of my pre determined thoughts were correct some mistakenly incorrect. The fragrance is a RED fragrance by heart and fits the category being warm inviting lil spicy, overall the fragrance lasts 6-8 hours it has a lot ofbgreat components to it but starts to loose it in the overall scent. Red parfum opens up with a sweet almost candy like citrus maybe a tad syrupy beggining, that turns to a natural sharp pink pepper spice that smells terrific. Absinthe note then appears Wich if used correctly creates a fresh sweet woodsy smell Wich polo nailed. Now here comes the major letdown Wich is what appears last at the end of the fragrance and that's a very cheap almost fake like lavender that creates a soapy floral off notes that just does not fit and conflicts the entire fragrance. With such natural well used notes as pink pepper, absinthe, Amber, opoponax, blood orange the particular lavender used in this doesn't fit polo should have either used a more natural lavender or just replace the note altogether and went with something else because the ending of the fragrance is enough to ruin it and to keep me from purchasing this fragrance as well easily seen a lot of people who purchase this fragrance being disappointed by the end. My ending conclusion is that this fragrance is not horrible nor is it great it's just okay but had so much potential to be way better

I will start off by saying that I am NOT normally a fan of Polo Ralph Lauren fragrances. I think they normally have that thing that makes a lot of people say the dreaded, “kinda smells like old man” phrase. Their Ralph’s Club EDP and Parfum are great “blue” style fragrances and don’t have that “old man smell” that their Polo Blue and Green line have been known for somewhat over the years. THIS Polo Red Parfum though, I have to say, I actually REALLLYYYY like! I get that burst of fresh/citrus off the top that is really inviting and pleasant. The Bergamot and Blood Orange are really nice in this off the top. I have seen a lot of comments talking about the heavy “spice” that people get from this, but to me it never got to the point with any “spice” where I would say, ... MoreI will start off by saying that I am NOT normally a fan of Polo Ralph Lauren fragrances. In fact, it is 83° today with plenty of sun, and I decided to try Polo Red Parfum again in warmer weather, and I am really pleased. I would definitely recommend this fragrance. I think it will be incredibly versatile. It might not be for 100° summer days, but in spring, and summer days in the 80°’s I think it will work great. This will also be a great fragrance for fall and winter days where you want something with a bit of freshness/citrus to it that can withstand the colder weather. I am very pleasantly surprised by Polo Red Parfum. Great job on this fragrance!

Shout out to Ralph Lauren for sending me this 1.36 fl. oz. parfum! Amongst many other things, I am a fragrance aficionado and I'm happy to share my opinion on this beloved brand's new Red fragrance. Usually I would never purchase a fragrance of this size as it just makes no sense for my lifestyle but they do of course come in other sizes. Which is a great description, I find myself drawn to scents like this because your scent essentially becomes your presence and people can tell its you when your walking in or around a room. Cedarwood derived scents are also some of my favorites, so it makes sense that I enjoy what Im smelling. I feel it's great for daytime wear and it's effects are lasting but it does have the ability to be overbearing, so use parfum's as they are supposed to be used, just a little will go a long way. Price points are pretty average, you can get a 4.2oz bottle for around $135.00 usd and can be found just about anywhere fragrances are sold. I would love to have been able to compare it to R.L. Polo's other RED fragrances but standing alone this one is nice. The QR code takes you to their commericial on youtube which is a cool ad.

* I received this free sample from Polo and Influenster in exchange for my honest review* Ralph Lauren has done something quite different with this release. The defining note in this fragrance is the absinthe. After the initial opening, absinthe influences nearly all stages of this profile. The opening is a familiar burst of citrus and sweetness with a peppery texture that is common to the Red line. After the opening, Red Parfum settles into a very absinthe-forward profile that can be challenging. The mid is a bit green like fennel, coming from the absinthe, and a bit musky. The freshness of the opening withdraws completely and you're left with a kind of fougère profile as the lavender and orris mixes in to create a slightly soapy, slightly green accord that I'd ... More* I received this free sample from Polo and Influenster in exchange for my honest review* Ralph Lauren has done something quite different with this release. The freshness of the opening withdraws completely and you're left with a kind of fougère profile as the lavender and orris mixes in to create a slightly soapy, slightly green accord that I'd hesitate to call fresh. It projects 1-2 meters for about an hour or two, and then draws back to an intimate bubble for 10+ hours. I do not think Red Parfum will be a hit. This is both a good, and bad thing. It's good for people who like this profile, and want that quirkiness to stay off the beaten path. It's bad because I expect Red Parfum will not be widely available for very long, and Ralph Lauren will not see these kinds of slightly experimental accords as worthy investments

This is an honest review of a free product. The first thing I noticed about Ralph Lauren’s Polo Red is that the scent is fairly unremarkable: it’s decent, but perhaps not enough so to justify the price markup beyond mid-tier options. I won’t be wearing this to formal events, and I should note that in the dozen or so times I’ve left the home wearing Polo Red, I haven’t received a single compliment. On the other hand, the smell is pleasant enough. The bergamot notes really shine through, and while I’m not a newly minted believer in Red, it’s certainly good enough for regular everyday wear. I found it to be long-lasting, often noticing it 8-10 hours after application. My biggest hang-up would be the price. There are at least a dozen scents that I’d prefer over Polo Red, but luckily I was given this bottle freely in exchange for an honest review. I couldn’t imagine paying Acqua di Gio prices for something that’s nearer to Curve in scent quality, but that is the case based on MSRP. Overall, this would be a great find on sale, on clearance, or at a discount retailer like TJ Maxx. There is a massive disparity between the price and the quality, but that isn’t to say that Polo Red is bad. If it was positioned in the $20-$30 price range, it could potentially be a market leader. As positioned, however, there are dozens if not hundreds of better options. Don’t expect to wear this for a night out, but it serves its purpose just fine if you’re picking up the kids from soccer practice after work.

First off, Polo Red Parfum is different from past Polo Red releases. In the opening it has a sweetness to it that makes me think of crisp red candied apples or a tart cranberry jam which is balanced by a fresh juicy citrus note from bergamot and blood orange! There are hints of zest and a slight pink pepper spice aswell that lingers in the background. But what really makes this one interesting to me, is the absinthe note! It's very different and adds some unique herbals to the mix that I really like. There is also a clean freshness to it from beginning to end. Then after a few hours, I start to get more of a smooth wood subtle vanilla vibe. Very easy wear and a very versatile fragrance. I think you could wear this during any season without worry of it coming off ... MoreFirst off, Polo Red Parfum is different from past Polo Red releases. I got about 8 hours of longevity and I've already received a compliment from someone that smelled it from about 10ft away! Only possible concerns I have is that it doesn't really feel like a typical parfum. So don't let your expectations ruin this one for you. It isn't heavy or going to last for 12+ hours on skin, but it is still a very good release! I recommend this fragrance if you want something versatile but different from other Reds.
