This is by far one of the most feature packed, high audio quality, single ear headsets I’ve ever used.First off, one of the most important things to consider is comfort. This unit is not bulky, and not weighted- or I should say that any weight it has is evenly and comfortably distributed over the ear. It doesn’t move when shaking my head, and I can easily see this as a device to use while running or biking.I am not a huge fan of the ear tips, however. The flat edge of the ear tip sits awkwardly at the ear canal entrance, it’s edges pressing against the sides at the opening of my ear canal. I am using the medium tip, and might have to go to the smallest one.The volume starts at about halfway by default, and most people will find this to be a very comfortable ... MoreThis is by far one of the most feature packed, high audio quality, single ear headsets I’ve ever used.First off, one of the most important things to consider is comfort. If you need that “extra” when in a noisy setting, this definitely will provide additional volume. The buttons are easy to use and manipulate. No problems finding them to answer, hang-up, or activate Siri.I also used the accompanying BT USB dongle to connect with my PC, and it performed flawlessly with MS Teams. The range is a bit further than standard Bluetooth, which is plenty when you’re working around your desk. Or in the car driving. The accompanying case is where this already great headset goes beyond! Not only is the case a nice pocket sized place to store your headset, it also can store the dongle, AND, recharge/top off the battery from the internal case battery. You get more than 1 full charge from the case, so you’re looking at over 15 hours of talk time on average.Over the years I have had many BT headsets for my phone, mostly for using in the car, and this just excels in nearly every category for car AND office. Extremely versatile and long life. What more can you ask for?I gotta run now, but I can tell you that I’m in the car, on a teams call , and the other participants can’t even tell. I hear them loud and clear over traffic and road noise, and then hear me as if I were sitting in my office in front of the mic.

I was very impressed by the performance of this Bluetooth headset. Setup was very quick and painless, and I was connected almost instantly. Seriously- you will be connected to your device almost instantly when you turn the switch on after pairing during daily use. Taking it out of your ear and switching to your handset works as advertised as well.Dedicated volume buttons are very welcome here. The buttons seem meant to be used and do not feel flimsy. They are close to my ear, so if they sounded hollow and cheap, I would definitely notice. My only concern would be that muting from the headset is a little confusing and I'm still getting used to whether or not I'm supposed to just touch or hold down one of the buttons.I stood in front of a large fan and carried on ... MoreI was very impressed by the performance of this Bluetooth headset. None of my friends knew I was doing this until after I told them. You will definitely notice a positive difference when using this device outside compared to what you are using as a Bluetooth headset right now. Music and podcasts sound great while you wait for calls, and when you do get on one, communication from either side is top-tier according to my online and cellular testing. The ear inserts are of very high quality and meant to last. Changing them out is a very deliberate process and it would be nearly impossible to have them disconnect from the headset accidently. The additional case/battery is fantastic. I wasn't sure it was going to be included, but it is. Replacements are readily available online from a few sellers for a reasonable price in case you lose it. I haven't come close to exhausting either the headset or the battery backup, but charging before initial use seemed to be quick. The documentation provided does a great job of setting expectations. Make sure to charge the battery case before use so it can "wake-up" after it has left the manufacturing plant! All in all, it is larger than other headsets, but not cumbersome. I never notice it once I get going. This headset is now my go-to device when working and in professional settings. If this is in your price range, get it.

Fast forward to the Voyager 5200 and there are a ton of major improvements. Any complaints I may have had from my old one have been addressed, along with upgrades that I hadn't even thought of. Pairing is super easy and the Poly Lens app makes setup a simple affair. As expected, audio quality is fantastic for both incoming and outgoing, even in noisy environments. The ANC has been vastly upgraded both, as has operating range. Talk time is also notably improved to the point where you wonder how such a tiny thing could have such a robust battery. The positioning of the controls was never an issue for me, but I like them even better now. The layout is very intuitive and I was using them by trained instinct almost immediately. The charging case is another area where a great feature has been made way better, although it really should be using a USB-C connector at this point instead of the antiquated micro. Aside from that, I love having the option to charge either from the easy access mount on top or while the device is enclosed within the case. The little storage pocket for the dongle is very handy. My only real issue with this product that keeps it from being a 5-star is the comfort and fit. The main body of the headset is relatively unchanged and continues to work quite well for my ears. However, I do acknowledge that the lack of adjustability means it may not work for all. The problem that I have here is with the 3 included silicone eartips (S/M/L). All are the same shape and none feel good in my ear and none form a proper seal to keep out interfering sounds from the outside. There should be some alternative shapes and sizes and maybe even some foam covers to help with comfort/sealing.

Both the same...poor if any connectivity.2" PC Dongle... according to the Plantonics hub application on my PC, I am connected. However, the dongle no longer lights up, and you guessed it...I'm not connected. Cant even play music on my PC and hear it in the headpiece even though I switch my PC audio output to earpiece. IF I shutdown my PC, unplug the dongle , reboot my computer and then plug in the dongle it works. I shouldn't have to do that.OA rating a 2. Would like to give it a 3, but it falls below the operable standardsUpdate 2/2023Save your $$ and find an alternative to this product...In the first year I had this unit, I had it replaced and spent countless hours on hold to try and get the issues resolved. Also in the first year I was told to go into the app and TURN OFF all sensors to prevent calls from dropping since they believed it was caused my my head being cooler than the average person ( I work in Construction Contract Administration and Inspections, I have ANYTHING but a cool head!) and the sensors in the earpiece believed the it had been removed and would switch it to the phone in mid sentence....VERY annoying while driving.Earpiece that fits in ear broke at the base in year 2 and I had to order new ones....Also in second year, the stem between the body of the unit and earpiece/microphone started to separate. I have been gingerly putting the earpiece on in the morning to avoid any more damage, however we are just over 4 months into year 3 and? ( see photo)Plantronics was the "goto" company for my predecessors earpieces.Since Plantronics purchased Poly in 2018 and changed it name to "POLY" and then in 2022 was purchased by HP, one can only assume this was due to manufacturing or financial trouble, which, has ultimately affected their product.DO YOUR RESEARCH 1...these units are made as cheaply as possible with less than adequate customer service.

The battery life is great, using during the daytime normally i still have 65 to 70 percent left at the end of the night and recharging time for the headset is very short. While talking on the phone the noise cancelling is remarkable, people i'm speaking with say they hear no background noise at all.The buttons are very convenient, the power button is on the backside and the volume buttons are on top of the headset, the pairing button is on the back of the boom mic with the mute bottom in the middle of the boom mic.Once paired to a device whenever you power on the headset it will connect automatically to previously paired devices when there in range,The call quality is excellent and crisp. I recommend this headset for anyone for work or pleasure.

Great Concept that fails for ease of use

When I learned that I would be able to review a single ear 5200, I was excited as I wanted a device that would leave me available to the world around me while I take on a conference call. In the end, it is leaving me wanting.I've been using this headset for a little bit more than a week on a MacBook M1 Air. It paired easily enough once I found instructions on how to setup the bluetooth pairing. While on conference calls, I find myself being dropped approximately every 10 minutes or so. I believe this to be a case where the ear piece doesn't think I am actively/passively using it so it powers down or loses connection. Perhaps if I use the fob that comes with this, it will keep me engaged/connected.2 things bother me about this.1) The device should be able to poll the MacBook Air's bluetooth and still keep the connection alive as this is a pretty well established instruction set by this point.2) A device shouldn't be dependent on a USB-A port to connect the FOB. Granted, there are adapters for USB-A to USB-C ports, but that introduced an additional layer of failure point. When I am on a conference, I need to stay involved even if my talking is going to be minimal. I have begun to look for information on why it is disconnecting, but I am really rather disappointed in this particular device. For these reasons, I need to lower my rating for this particular product. I shouldn't have to spend a day trying to figure why my connection keeps getting dropped. I would've returned these already if it wasn't for reviewing the item.

Great headset that needs a few upgrades

I wanted to make sure to use this product in multiple different scenarios to get the full breadth of its capabilities. It's perfect for my usage while on the road or in the office. I also loved that the sound quality of the meetings was very clear and that there are buttons for different functions(volume, call answer, mute) in a very accessible area. The things I think needed some work, i didn't like that it doesn't have a more updated cable connection. I would have liked for it to be a usb C connection only because it would be more convenient as to not have to carry more cables than necessary. I would have also liked a slightly better fit for the headset. I tried the different ear pieces and felt that while the earpiece fit , it wasn't very comfortable. It was kind of hovering in the ear for me. Despite that, it was comfortable and the sound was fine.

I could hear people great, and they could hear me as well. I was able to walk around my office room and still hear very good. I would say I could go around a hall and about 30 feet and still be connected. The case for the earpiece and USB dongle were perfect! I love how it allows for two ways to charge, either inside or using the top portion. The slot for the dongle was nice as well, I did not have to worry about misplacing the dongle when I went between the office and home. I work from home about 90% of the time so keeping everything together can be a hassle at times but this case kept everything where I needed it. Also charging was perfect and the battery life was great. I do not have more than 2-3 hours of meetings and the projected time was about 5-6 hours, more than enough for me during the day.All in all I give this two thumbs up and 5 stars even with the few items I had an issue with. This earpiece is worth getting and using.

The Poly Voyager 5200 is a feature rich headset, which I tested on Zoom and MS Teams conference calls.Pros- Mute button - very important if you ever want to walk away from your computer during all day calls- Volume controls - also important to adjust varying audio intensity from different meeting participants- Boom mic - brings the microphone close to your mouth for clear audio transmission- Better range in my home which has many thick walls. Does a very good job of staying connected- I was able to pair this quickly to my computer without needing the included USB Bluetooth adapterCons- Behind the ear headset is a larger than I prefer and can interfere with eyeglasses until you get the placement just right- The earphone cover doesn’t have a nub to keep the ... MoreThe Poly Voyager 5200 is a feature rich headset, which I tested on Zoom and MS Teams conference calls.Pros- Mute button - very important if you ever want to walk away from your computer during all day calls- Volume controls - also important to adjust varying audio intensity from different meeting participants- Boom mic - brings the microphone close to your mouth for clear audio transmission- Better range in my home which has many thick walls. Professional Sound with Comfortable Design
6 March 2023

As someone who works 8 hours day at the computer receiving and making phone calls, I need a headset that I can wear all day without discomfort. The Voyager 5200 UC provides both comfort and sound quality. This headset is ideal for mobile users and office workers who are constantly on their computer and/or mobile phone. The design is great as it is not too large and is quite lightweight at 0.7oz. As mentioned, the comfort level is excellent as I can easily wear it for extended hours without being bothered. The swivel microphone allows headset to be worn on either left or right ear. The charging stand case is nice and includes a USB Bluetooth dongle for computers that may not have Bluetooth connectivity. The charging stand case is nice and includes a USB Bluetooth dongle for computers that may not have Bluetooth connectivity. Other than that, the package includes a USB-A cable to Micro B cable, different size ear tips, and a quick start guide.I have not experienced any issues connecting via Bluetooth and using it with Microsoft Teams and Zoom. The headset uses triple-mic active Digital Signal Processing and wind cancelling. The users on the other end of the call have all said my mic sounded clear and there was no background wind or static noise. The audio quality is good for the size, but not the best, especially when listening to music. The battery life has been great and easily last well over 6 hours. The Bluetooth range is rated at 100 feet, so you freely roam a good distance. Some aspects I would have liked to see in this product is for it to use USB C as a majority of my devices use that connection type. Active noise cancelling would also be a nice feature since outside sound does still come through. The MSRP is on the more expensive side, but I feel the features and design make it worth it. Overall, I found the Voyager 5200 headset to suit my needs and would recommend it. If you are in the market looking for a over the ear headset that provides good sound quality, the Voyager 5200 Office and UC Series may be for you.
