The hose reel retraction works ok, but can take a little finesse sometimes. Hose hasn't leaked yet but kinks easier than my old Nylex one. I like the idea of buying multiple mounts and moving the reel between front and backyards.My largest issue by far is the terrible quality of the spray nozzle. Spray patterns are fine, but I have had both the original one and a replacement break inside and now water sprays out everywhere. Both failed within a month or two of getting them. I won't bother trying to replace it again, I'll just get another brand. Haven't had an issue with any other nozzle or tap so don't believe our water pressure is high.

totally waste of money! I hope I have read the reviews before buying it. It was leaking at the second time!!! How ridiculous!! I can’t uninstall it to return since the it was a hard work to install it! I’m so mad!! Piece of garbage “pope “

Did not even last 3yrs without issues. Just before 3yr mark the retraction stopped and hose kinks and cracked in multiple places and lost water pressure. Was great for initial 2.5 years but totally frustrating at constant kinking and lack of retraction. The plastic cover also cracked and powdered and it’s not even in full Sun… it’s in shade 80% of the time. After talking with friends with the same hose and discovering they were having the same issues I bought an alternate brand and couldn’t be happier. Don’t waste money on this frustrating hose! Would not recommend.

Just today, bought 20m Retractable Pope Hose.Rewind mechanism does not work properly, already it does not retract fully, after 1 day!!The only reason anyone buys a retractable hose is so they can retract it.Interesting that it was in a taped up box (clearly been ripped open previously).This is even worse, if Bunnings is repackaging faulty returned products and selling them again.Unacceptable Bunnings.
Purchased this after returning a new Holman 30m retractable hose reel which shook and jumped around when retracting and was poorly manufactured with flimsy plastic. This pope 30m retractable hose reel is much better than the cheap plastic crap Holman. The hose winds in much more smoothly and the unit and bracket is far more solid and robust and much better made than the Holman. I also found this unit swings flush with the wall, whereas the Holman stuck out about 40 degrees which can be a problem if installed in a narrow pathway. Thankfully the pope unit sits nice and flush with the wall. Poor design - not serviceableWe purchased a new 20m Pope Autowind hose reel 6 months ago. Stupidly, I recently nicked a hole in the hose with a garden tool. Unfortunately Pope do not have a repair joiner kit that will fit through the winder guide.... so I thought I would just replace the full hose. BUT this unit is NOT serviceable in way! I have verified this by speaking with the Pope Customer Service (which is actually now Toro Australia). The Toro person was very helpful, but when I asked if Pope intended to makes these serviceable in future designs it was advised that there was no intention to change this in the future.
I thought Pope was a good brand, so. Tried it, after one day, I'm returning it. Doesn't roll back in properly, mechanism is super dodgy and doesn't feed the hose in our out properly. Needs to be reworked and put in a larger m ore sturdy housing. Nozzle is cheap and nasty too. Prefer Gardena.Really disappointing product.
Please do not waste your money on Pope brand hose reel. I bought it from Bunnings couple of years ago. It started issues with it's retracting system right from the begenning. Wouldn't last for three months. Since then we have been using it as un-retractable condition because of not been able to spend so much money for another one.Bunning were not able to replace it for us under year of purchase as it was bought in cash and we kept no receipt. Since it was nearly $250 plus at that time we thought it would last atlease for a year...
I bought this hose reel and several additional wall mounts. After a month it became apparent that the orange end connectors are designed to fail. They're not the tried and true connector with a screw on collet to grip the hose - no. Nor are they a metal crimped connector. They've gone for a one piece push-on connector that of course blows off under pressure. Which end will fail? Nobody knows, it's a surprise. Now each use I have to press the ends back on, and half the time I come back inside with wet clothes. Do better Pope, you're supposed to be a premium brand. I have not had any retraction problems. The retraction is just right in my opinion. I bought this today set it and the rewind mechanism is very poor - takes many attempts to get it to rewind the hose, and rarely "fully" rewinds the hose. I have another band of this item that have worked for years without these problems. Don't recommend and will avoid all Pope products as the quality of this is unacceptable.I took it back to Bunnings and they were very helpful and gave me a refund.
