Positive Grid modeled the best-sounding guitar amps down to their individual electronic components, including the transformers, tubes, resistors and capacitors. The result is a stunning response to your feel-whether you're picking hard or soft, tapping, doing volume swells, or using a slide or wah pedal-that sounds just like you're playing through the original amps. BIAS Head's Amp Match function also lets you easily capture the exact sound of any guitar amp, including rare amps owned by your buddies and amps recorded on rock's most iconic records. Once matched, you can go into further amp customization right on BIAS Head's front panel - swap out the preamp and power amp tubes, change the tubes topology, tweak gain stages, and more. Load any amp model, and then instantly modify its design with the simple turn of a knob or by flipping a switch on BIAS Head's friendly front-panel. It couldn't be easier. Twist a knob to immediately switch from an ultra-clean solid-state head to a velvety tube amp-or create hybrid versions of classic amps. Completely change the tubes' circuit design by turning just one knob to make the amp distort smoothly or break up immediately. Twist another knob to add up to four additional tube stages for extra gain on soaring solos. Adjust the balance of power amp and preamp distortion by turning two knobs. Flip a switch to add a cabinet sim. Awesome tones ranging from glassy to overdriven-and everything in between-are yours in a heartbeat. And BIAS Head's tone stacks for Bass, Middle, Treble and Presence change their tone with each amp model you play through, sounding like the tone stacks on the original amps. The Amp Head features a 600 W power amplifier.

This amp is incredible. Having pretty much any sound at my fingertips, in a unit which can go from whisper quiet (but still great sounding) to stage volume is awesome. The knobs/switches etc all feel like very high quality, and the added software licence is a nice bonus. It may seem pricey, but it is way, way cheaper than buying all those classic amps, and the sounds are indistinguishable. Can't recommend highly enough.

I ordered a positive grid 600W head it arrived defective and I returned it the next day I then ordered and paid for a second one because I didn't want to miss out on the deal. Well today I called them because the second head was not being shipped and I was told that I would not be getting the second amp because they were out. They are refunding all my money that's not the problem the problem is I was told they had another to sell me which I was find with even though they should have set one aside because they knew the first one was being shipped back. I was not even offered a deal a a rack one which they have in stock I think I should have been offered a deal on one of the other positive grid. I guess I won't be coming back terrible customer service.

I was very excited to get the Bias head after many reviews online. To my disappointment, it seems that this amounts to a midi controller for the Bias Amp software and pretty much nothing else. Unfortunately, I was not able to get any kind of usable tone out of this (possibly due to my own lack of understanding or maybe it needs to be run out of a cab) but, the thing that made me give it a two star rating is that I found out the Bias FX software cannot also be used with this head. There is so much more that could have been done with this thing. I am very disappointed with the execution of this product and had hoped for something more than the bare minimum amount of functionality.
You could literally sit in a room for the rest of your guitar playing days and just dial in amps that other P Grid owners have created. The options are endless and that is just what guitarists love the most when it comes to gear. I love connecting to it via iPad, but the Apple 12 does a great enough job of dialing in while playing out. There are too many variables to describe but for instance you could just play Marshall amp downloads and be happyIm digging on the VHT simulators these days. At 600 watts the amp does need a suitable cab so make sure to do research before buying it. My 4x10 Budda does a great job of transferring the exact tone when dialed in but again the options are endless considering you could spend a lifetime just looking for the right cabmaybe a ... MoreYou could literally sit in a room for the rest of your guitar playing days and just dial in amps that other P Grid owners have created. I ran it through an Orange 4x12 at the rehearsal studio but I wasnt into this particular closed back amp. Plenty of outs in the back to play with and the amp also accepts Bass guitar and Vocal preamp. Headphone out for me has versatile use and one of the biggest reasons I bought it was because next to Master Volume is Output Volume so that you can turn up the cab but keep your sound from the amp the same. Its a great feature that you think many other amp sims have but this one was done right.
Bought a spark in 2020 loved it so I thought I’d buy the bias head 2022. company takes a minimum of 2-3 days for a response CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS waited a whole month without my amp because it got shipped elsewhere in a different state (600w pwr amp) then resent it again only to get the wrong amp again (Black amp is only a processor)Asked when they would be restocked and they have no clue, then asked if I can get a discount in the future for a month of no amp & horrible service & experience but got denied and they said it’s not in their power to give discounts.. Spend a few more dollars and buy a Kemper or any other profiling amp!
Always wanted to try one, but was too expensive, in case I wanted to return it. But, with an extra $30 off of an already low $599, why not? Not disappointed! This amp is worth every penny, and more! Could not be happier!
