If I could rate zero stars I would. My daughters barely play our Nintendo switch. Our wired remote doesn’t work. It literally just stopped turning on. They have used it maybe 5 times total over the span of 2-3 months. What a waster of plastic. And now this will be in a landfill somewhere because clearly no cares about making things last any more. And of course we are out of the return window. What a piece of crap. We bought this controller because the controllers that came with our Nintendo Switch bought from target as well, were also faulty (the top bottoms, ZR, R, L, ZL just stopped working within a few weeks of purchase.) Shame on Nintendo for their crappy cheat products.

Hence, any tense or quick moments that occur in my game tends to make me grip the controller tighter, forcing me to press one of the grip buttons. With the Afterglow controller, I do not have this problem.2. Again, the Afterglow controller is preferable because the home and photo button are placed much higher away and further away from the plus and minus buttons on this PowerA Controller.Aside from these 2 reasons/comparisons, this controller was functional and worth it if you are on a very tight budget (under 20 bucks). There were no errors or problems I had with this controller from the 1-2 weeks I was using it (about 20 hours total playtime)

Great product for the price

Before I review the controller, I'll provide some context to my gaming habits to accurately reflect how this product was used and if any previous biases may exist. I mainly switch off between SSBU, BOTW and fortnite. 99% of the time that I play video games, I use a wireless pro controller while other the 1% of the time, I use the old school gamecube controllers. With that being said, I'll get into the pros and cons.Pros:- Responsive: There is no input lag. The gaming controls felt smooth and responded well in regards to what buttons were being pressed. Normally, third party companies make horrible controllers with a lot of input lag, but this one is surprisingly solid. For PvP games, this is extremely important and I noticed no issues with response time at all.- ... MoreBefore I review the controller, I'll provide some context to my gaming habits to accurately reflect how this product was used and if any previous biases may exist. Normally, third party companies make horrible controllers with a lot of input lag, but this one is surprisingly solid. For PvP games, this is extremely important and I noticed no issues with response time at all.- Design: The design layout/ ergonomic feel of the controller is the exact same as the wireless pro controller so it was easy to get accustomed to. It feels good and fits well in my hands so I can game on it comfortably for hours. As an added bonus, there is a fun and colorful Mario design on the controller as well.- Additional buttons/ paddles: This controller has additional paddles/ buttons on the backhand side. No matter how you hold the controller, those additional buttons are placed in easy to reach/ convenient locations on the controller so they add to your gaming experience to make things easier for you. The buttons work well and are easy to operate.- Mic port: The controller includes a mic port which works surprisingly well. I didnt expect for the controller to have this so this was a nice plus/ surprise.- Wired: This is both a pro and con, but in terms of the pros, this controller will never die on you. This is also most likely the reason why the controller has great responsiveness and no input lag.Cons:- Weight/ finish: This is a personal preference so it may not bothers others as much, but for me the weight of the controller and finish on the surface are issues for me. As mentioned, I'm accustomed to using a wireless pro controller so the PowerA controller is very light in comparison. It feels almost hollow on the inside which makes it extremely light. Also, the finish on the controller's surface is a smooth finish all around. The analog sticks has a hint of rubber feel for additional grip, but it still feels quite slippery.- Buttons: The button clicks are not smooth. It feels cheap and doesn't have a solid feel. The analog sticks are also stiff so for FPS games it's harder to aim on.- Wired: As mentioned before, this is both a pro and con. The cons include the inconvenience of having to plug the controller in. The wire provided is extremely long so it's not too much of an issue if you wish to sit 10 or so feet away, but it simply creates more clutter. The other con of wired controllers is that you have to play on a dock in order to use it. You can't plug it directly into the switch if you wish to take it on the go. Also, the controller has a usb port, which is a bit outdated now that everything is usb-c.All in all, I think this controller is great for the price - especially if you're a casual gamer. Most of the cons listed are personal preferences so they may not be too much of an issue for another person. Overall, since the controller is wired and the price point is less than half of the price for a pro controller, you honestly can't go wrong having the PowerA - whether it's meant as a backup controller or your main controller.

Not Bad

For the cost, this is a pretty decent controller. It feels good and solid in the hand and the buttons are nice. I think my main issue is that the triggers aren't analog. In other words, they have two positions - either pressed or not. Most triggers will register how far down you have the trigger pressed which is ideal for racing games for instance. The more you press the trigger, the faster the car accelerates. That's not possible with this controller since the triggers are essentially just buttons. This isn't a huge deal for the types of games I'm playing, but it would have been nice to know before purchasing. My other complaint is the cable that comes with the controller is very stiff. This controller is SO CUTE!!!!It's very light and feels a bit hollow, but honestly that just makes it more comfortable to hold. And while at first I thought the re-mapable buttons were a neat feature that I'd likely never actually use, I was dead wrong. They are super useful, especially if you have issues with certain games causing your thumbs to hurt, you can just remap those buttons to the back of the controller and let your other fingers take some of the strain away from your thumbs. The only downsides that come to mind are that there's no gyro controls or HD rumble (or any rumble for that matter). I tend to keep my Joycons nearby incase I need either of those functions, but people who are looking to replace their Joycons with this: Just know that you won't have gyro controls, rumble, Amiibo support, and if your console is docked you're gonna have to press the power button on the console itself to wake it up when it's in sleep mode.

Personal Love there Switch Pro Controllers

Definitely a nice controller compared to the joycons. The joycons work great when you using the switch as a portable handheld system but when it's docked and your gaming on TV these Controllers are a must have IMO. There are many out there to choose from but definitely worth the investment if your planning to play while system is docked. I personally feel when using joy-cons while they aren't attached to the sides for gaming on the go they feel like I'm gonna break them. Never have felt that way while joy-cons are being used for portable gaming it's just when they are disconnected from the screen and using them just in my hands or connected to that cheap feeling controller thing that comes with the switch. Should come included with every switch!

Lightweight controller that is more comfortable than the stock controller. The stock controller for the switch is sized for child's hands and is way too small for adults to use comfortably. This Xbox style controller makes the games far more playable and enjoyable. It is wired but the wire is extra long so it doesn't bother me. Great purchase. $30-$40 and it fixes the joy con drift issue as well. It's only missing the rumble pack and motion control. But it's way cheaper than the official pro controller so I don't miss those features. And when I do I can easily switch back to the stock controller, for the richer experience.

In today's market for controllers even a wired one is usually in the ballpark of $50+ dollars. But this one is very low price. But because of low price you can expect the drawbacks that would come with it. In my experience the controller is too light weight. At around 6 oz maybe? And maybe for some of you that's fine. But I have large hands and this make it feel like I'm going to break it.As for durability however, I'm not rough with my equipment but since I bought this about a month ago it has yet to degrade in any way. Buttons work fine. The thumbsticks don't have drift. My largest complaint is the weight. It's cheap and you get a controller that works! And if it does happen to break? It's not going to be a $70 hit that a pro controller would dish out.6.5/10 you get what you pay for and it works, would recommend heavily if you're in a pinch
