I am not a matcha expert, but I have had the good stuff. This is not it. Quite bitter, which is not what good matcha is supposed to be, yet it costs as much as high quality matcha. I definitely would not buy it again, and wish I could get a refund.

I have never tried Match Green Tea Powder before so I was looking forward to it and I'm glad I did! I really like it and have read all the great health benefits it provides and how versatile it is. If you go to the Aprika website they give you some great recipes with easy to follow instructions. I can't wait to try the cheesecake. The green color makes everything look so festive on any occasion. I did try the cappuccino and I'm making this my morning drink from now on. I love how you can incorporate it into pancakes or cookies splash it in the middle of a fruit & dip bowl like a garnish. I highly recommend it!

I normally wouldn't recommend such an expensive Matcha product for such a teeny tiny amount of product, but this Matcha is extremely fresh, smooth and potent quality. The packaging however is a fail! The Matcha comes in a foil packet that you are supposed to pour into the tiny tin ( my tin arrived completely crushed/dented on the bottom) the foil doesn't have an existing tear line and any way you open it, Matcha dust wastefully falls everywhere as you attempt to transfer into the tin. For such an expensive Matcha, this is unacceptable. The Matcha powder also gets trapped in the corners of the foil packet; again, difficult to get out without wasting. While I appreciate the foil keeping the product fresh, potent and sanitary, I would prefer all those characteristics ... MoreI normally wouldn't recommend such an expensive Matcha product for such a teeny tiny amount of product, but this Matcha is extremely fresh, smooth and potent quality. The packaging however is a fail! Where matcha tea is concerned, I am most definitely a newbie. I've been interested in it for quite some time, because I have read about its many health benefits, but I will leave that discussion to the experts. So I am approaching this from the perspective of someone making matcha tea for the first time.First, for those who enjoy the cuteness factor, the packaging earns high marks. It comes in a small metal tin, which can be reused and repurposed. Inside the tin is a plastic lid and a package of the precious matcha sealed in foil. Once I had opened and used my first portion of matcha, I poured the rest into the tin and used the plastic inner lid to seal it inside the metal cover.I followed the directions carefully. It suggested sifting 1/2 tsp. of the powder and using water at a temperature of 175° F. I used a small fine mesh strainer to sift the tea into a 2-cup Pyrex measuring cup while I heated some water to boiling. I poured the boiling water into a glass jar and checked it several times with my digital kitchen thermometer until it had cooled to approximately 175° F. Then I added 3 ounces of the hot water to my measuring cup that contained the sifted matcha.Next in the process was creating the foam, and from my reading I had learned that the preferred instrument was a bamboo whisk. I didn't have that kitchen tool, but I read online that one acceptable substitute would be a blender, so I decided to use my immersion blender, which worked perfectly, in less than 10 seconds, to create a thick foam. From watching several videos, creating the foam with the recommended bamboo whisk is a rather intense process that requires a technique where the whisk moves back and forth in the shape of an M or a W, so I was quite pleased with the results from my immersion blender. I first tried using a spring coil whisk that I've had for many years, but I was unsuccessful in creating any foam. So I may have compromised the art of making a perfect cup of matcha tea with my substitution of an immersion blender, but I was pleased with the results. The first taste was very bitter, so I sweetened it with a stevia-based powdered sweetener and then added a bit of unsweetened almond milk to create a latte of sorts. I think matcha is a bit of an acquired taste, but with those tweaks, I found the taste very fresh and quite refreshing. I will probably double the recipe on my next attempt. No doubt this is a bit of an indulgence over ordinary kettle tea, but one that I think might just be worth it as a special treat, and possibly even a daily habit.
I have been doing a lot of looking into matcha because of its amazing health benefits and my husband and I Love it. I have bought a lot off different brands of matcha that have claimed to be premium top grade ceremonial matcha and we'll there not they Are never a vibrant green like how you see on social media they are always darker and some even have a little brown tint to them. The matchas are always also bitter when they are that dark. This is not the most vibrant green powder, but it is not bitter it's a really good tasting matcha. Also it dissolves pretty good. Better than others I have tried. For the price I would recommend.
We got the Organic Japanese Matcha Green Tea Powder - culinary grade that has 30g / 1.05 oz of the powder in the tin. It was easy to make it was sifting ½ tsp of the matcha tea powder into a bowl, add 2-3 oz of hot water but not boiling about 175 degrees, and whisk vigorously with a bamboo whisk (we didn’t have a bamboo whisk so we used our small metal one). The taste was great tasted like Matcha green tea powder. The website lists benefits of the match green tea can be increased focus, can boosts of energy, may help prevent diseases, can boost metabolism and burn calories, may lower cholesterol and blood sugar, is a great coffee substitute without the coffee crash, and contains 137x the antioxidants of brewed green tea. The Organic Aprika Life Japanese Ceremonial Matcha green tea powder is FANTASTIC! I have a Matcha latte nearly every day so I was excited to try the Aprika Life Ceremonial grade. I've had their culinary grade and it's really good too. It whisks smooth with no lumps, has zero bitterness, and has a beautiful color. But of course what really matters is how delicious it is. The cute little tin can packaging is a bonus. And the 1.05 ounce size lasts a while. Highly recommend!
Awesome tasting Matcha. Premium Ceremonial USDA organic. It is phenomenal tea.. It states it is 100% Organic Matcha Green tea powder. It is extremely potent and the taste takes some getting use to. I love that it is made in Japan, confirming its authenticity. It comes in this little cute canister to maintain its freshness What else can I say except that it is good and i highly recommend this delish high grade Green tea. Matcha is known to have exceptional benefits and for those committed to a healthy lifestyle, this should be a part of your daily routine. Highly recommend this Matcha!
I've come to realize, I don't think I'm a Matcha kind of person. I've only tried one other brand before and...well, no thank you. Thought I'd try this as it's ceremonial, premium and sounds like worth a go. Yes, it is an improvement indeed. It's much smoother, blends well, and not quite as bitter as what I've tried before. But, it still has that grassy, earthy undertone to me which I just cannot seem to get used to. I tried it straight up plain, too pungent for me. Then I tried it with milk, and that was far better. I'm not giving up on this though, I believe there are many health benefits that make it worth using, it's high in antioxidants so that's always a plus. My daughter drinks it with smoothies so maybe I'll give that a whirl, I'm just not there yet lol ... MoreI've come to realize, I don't think I'm a Matcha kind of person. I recommend for Matcha lovers.
This tea is so good. I’m a matcha tea fan, so being ceremonial grade, I was looking forward to trying this tea. It’s only about an ounce, but that ounce goes a long way. Matcha tends to clump a little so it’s important to whisk it well. You only need about 1/2 teaspoon of tea. Pour hot water over it, and whisk. It says to use a bowl, and for better whisking you should. It sounds like a process, but it’s not a big deal really. This tea is well worth any effort. It’s very good. Being organic is an absolute for me. I recommend this tea for any true matcha fans.
