I searched high and low on the internet to find the perfect set of pencils for my husband. I must've read and watched reviews for about 20 different brands, and eventually, I landed on these. The storage case these pencils come in is great quality and very handy. I like that I didn't have to buy something separate to store them in. The pencils themselves arrived in perfect condition. I did see some reviews saying that a few pencils came damaged, but this wasn't the case for me. The colors are vivid and they blend beautifully. There's even a reference sheet that comes inside the case so you can swatch your pencils which my husband and I both thought was really cool. He loves his new pencils and we are both very satisfied. No complaints!

I, like so many others, bought this set during the start of the pandemic. I’m not really artistic but I love expressing my creative side. As an adult, coloring is something from your childhood that you grow out of. Can I tell you about the addiction that started. What a great way to relax. I bought so many color pencils and it wasn’t until I bought this set that I truly fell in love. The blending ability was fantastic. Color choices are amazing. It has given me the ability to express myself creatively with a great quality outcome. Everyone should have a set of these.

One thing I absolutely love about Prismacolor premier pencils is how much the colors pop on the page compared to other budget colored pencils I brought in the past. And in addition to the beautifully vibrant colors, they have a rich waxy texture to them. The colors can be applied in a smooth motion that doesn’t require much pressure on the wrist to get bold pigments. But perhaps one of Prismacolor’s biggest selling points is how well the colors blend. Blending is seamless and often doesn’t require external tools to get pro-level results. Laying the colors over each other smoothly is enough to breed new color options on the page, giving you endless possibilities. A downside to Prismacolor pencils is that they are more delicate than other high-end pencils on the market. They aren’t designed as sturdy, which means its easy to break the tips when sharpening. And if you’re careless with the pencils, you could event end up breaking their cores, leading to a shortened pencil lifespan. As with many premium art pencils, Prismacolor Premium Colored Pencils are available in different quantities, providing options to suit any budget. You can get sets of 12, 24, 48, 72 and 150 pencils. A set of 12 pencils will run you around $25 while a [hard to find] set of 150 is in the ball park of $130. My advice here is to decide which set to buy based on your level of interest in art. If adding color to your art is a serious step you want to take then perhaps investing in a set of 48 is best. Otherwise, if you just want to fill in some coloring books as a hobby I recommend the 12 or the 24 sets.

When you have to make a gift to an artist , Prismacolor is surely the present she/he will appreciate the most. I had no doubts when choosing to buy a gift for a friend of mine who is a talented artist. She was already aware of the great quality of these colored pencils . The packaging has a great variety of pencils: each color is proposed in different hues so, those who use them can easily choose the shade that best match the production of their artworks. The great range of hues makes really easy to create lifelike drawings . Why choose Prismacolor? first of all for the great quality of the material the pencisl are made of. Also the packaging is eye catching and offerst an elegant image of the product.
I love these pencils and they are so buttery smooth on paper. They are easy to sharpen and feel very premium build. They layer on lovely and blend so smoothly. They are a slight pricey but they are premium feel and great for artists as well as children and beginners. I have several sets and make sure I stay in stock because I can’t go without them when drawing or coloring and they last awhile. Definitely would recommend these pencils first to anyone looking for coloring pencils.
I’d consider myself an artist (currently studying art at university) and I want to start by saying that an artist can make amazing art no matter the value of products being used, however these colored pencils really do make life easier! These blend really smoothly, have amazing pigment, and this set comes with just about every color you could need. Plus, since their blending is really nice it’s easy to blend new colors when/where necessary! As true of most any colored pencil, they have to be treated a little carefully, as if you drop them they’ll likely break inside and then every time you sharpen it will only break—but that can be fixed by popping it in the microwave to re-melt and seal the wax inside. Overall a really great choice of colored pencils if you’re a ... I got passed down a case full of prismacolors. I would never pay this much for pencils as I’m more of a digital artist, but they fell into my hands. They’re smooth like butter and the brightest you’ll find. Like literally as bright as the pencil itself. They also blend like no other pencil I’ve tried. I prefer the student version at a cheaper price that has a slightly off texture. They’re the mess ups sold for less. Still better than the vast majority of colored pencils. Go for that if you need cheap, but good. Good, but not the best. Definitely go student ones for beginners.
Prismacolor are the only pencils I use in adult colouring and artistry. They make cokour literally jump off the page. There's no comparison. They need a professional sharpener and professional grade eraser specifically for coloured pencils. The intensity does not wear down with time. They are just as bold now as they were 3 years ago. It is very cool to see so many shades of blue, green, and purple. It makes a major difference when you're shading. Here are some examples of before prismacolor and after. As you can see, the difference is stunning. The lion was mamy moons ago using crayola. Thr dragonfly is prismacolor.
It's still true that Prismacolor Premier colour pencils have earned a bad reputation in recent years for lax production quality control. The possibilities of a pencil lead breaking during sharpening are greatly increased because many of the pencil leads are off-center. Since that this won't change anytime soon, the pencils are what you would expect from Prismacolors. When they aren't breaking, they are beautifully smooth pencils that lay down nicely. If you plan to sell your original artwork, I would suggest separating the lightfast 1 and 2 pencils from the 3-5 rated pencils because only the 1-2 rated pencils are genuinely lightfast.
I don't know who loves this more- my granddaughter or me (she said she does though)! The colors are very vibrant and the bottles are big enough for many projects. Whether she uses a brush or (often) uses her fingers, there's never a worry because it cleans up quickly and completely. I put the water bottle behind the set in the picture just to show you the size of the bottles-- very generous. It goes on easy and without clumps so her projects are always just perfect (from an unbiased grandma's point of view of course☺). You won't be disappointed buying this because you'll get the same Crayola quality as you've known over all the years. We have already ordered more for upcoming Christmas projects and also bought several for church to use on shoebox gifts.
