So over the moon excited that I tried these Prismacolor sketch pencils. The fit perfectly in my hand. I can sketch for prolonged periods and not have my hand/fingers get fatigued. I am able to really control the shading of my sketches with these pencils. When I sharpened these pencils they sharpened prefect. I had a nice point with smoothness around the tip.the pencil container is a great idea.

please do not buy these and waste your money like I did. I was excited about these especially because they’re my favorite color lol. So they don’t come presharpened so I started sharpening them and got to where it was getting sharper and the whole lead fell out. So I kept sharping and it just kept falling out. But the time I got it sharp and it didn’t fall out it was three inches shorter than the rest. I thought maybe it’s just this one. But nope. They all did that. I tried using them anyway but they don’t draw good. They’re very rough looking and they don’t blend out. It’s sad

The wood casing has a small diameter so these pencils feel more delicate than most. The lead is nice enough. However, when you buy one-at-a-time, or even whole boxes, each pencil has a paper barcode sticker wrapped around it. Removing these ugly stickers is not easy, and requires the use of a strong adhesive remover such as Goo Gone to clean off the sticky residue. (Unhappily, I bought 48 pencils, so this was tedious!) I recommend buying some other brand, such as Kimberly or Faber Castell or Staedtler, which arrive clean and ready to use.

My daughter is really into drawing anime characters. So when I got the opportunity to try this new said I took a chance on it. My daughter says the pencils work really well on her sketchpad and she came up with some really pretty drawings. My daughter also has a YouTube channel where she creates anime characters as a comic book and that first starts out when she’s drawing. This pack is perfect for anyone who likes to draw a sketch. My husband also use them to draw out tattoos recently. He is a professional tattoo artist and he said these are one of the best pencils that he has used.
I got these for my daughter who is showing an interest in art, and so far we’re very pleased. They sharpen easily and don’t break off without mistakes being made. The lines they draw are smooth and even, a little wider than a standard pencil. She really made some fine art with them already, and this set should last her a long time considering they hold up well and there’s 12 in the box. The tin they came in is nice storage too.
I've loved these turquoise Prismas since I was a teenager. The creaminess is the leads; (especially the softer ones like 6B and up,) is truly excellent: especially for portrait work. They're a solid value for the price , and if you buy them in bulk, you get an even better discount. The 9B could stand to be slightly more intense, but overall, these pencils really deliver. The 3B is a nice hardness for linework and fine detail, and a light touch is all you need to lay in a great foundation for some seriously amazing artwork.
The upside of these pencils is that they are probably okay for high school students because at this level, quality makes no difference. The downside is everything. Ferrules that fall off and do not stay put, junky graphite, horrible paint, varnishing and imprinting, and lastly the wood is light...it's not a good hardwood. I'm a big fan of the TURQUIOSE pencil but until the Newell Corp. brings them back to the USA for manufacturing, Mexico will continue to make rotten TURQUIOSE pencils. The first TURQUIOSE pencil was made by the great Eagle pencil Co. in 1901 right here in the US. These were some of the best drawing pencils made. Superior in every way and manufactured until the late 1960's. A serious artist and drafter will seek out these pencils.
I bought this set because it had more B pencils and those seem to be what I use. Sadly when I sharpened them the wood shredded and broke the graphite repeatedly. Even my pack of Dixon Ticonderoga sharpens perfectly so it's not the sharpener.Next time I would buy a different pencil. This is a nuisance to sharpen.
I love Prismacolor products typically, but I am not a fan of this turquoise set. The sharpened pencils scratch the paper, as in it's not a smooth glide on the paper and that's really annoying in my opinion. The pencils come unsharpened, which is fine but other sets come sharpened and with a sharpener as well. As far as the hardness of the lead on these graphite pencils, I can not tell a difference between them. They all scratch the paper, and they're all the same darkness. Overall, they're okay but you can buy a pack of no. 2 for a lot cheaper and the same outcome.
I enjoy using this Prismacolor Sketch Set of 12 pencils for sketching. This set comes with a variety of pencils meant specifically for drawing lines and shading. These pencils all write smoothly on the paper and do not crumble. Overall, it's an affordable yet quality set of pencils to meet any sketch artists needs.
