The Pro 500 is not only visually appealing but also user-friendly. It features a large cup tray that is completely removable, making it easy and convenient to fill the water tank. There's no need to clear away cups. The nostalgic rotary valves are wear-free thanks to a spring pull technique, preventing any over-rotation. The Pro 500 is equipped with the high-quality, solid E61 brew group, which has a total weight of 4.5 kg. The "No-burn" steam and hot water pipes ensure that only the steam and hot water nozzle get hot. Additionally, the steam wand is easier to clean as milk hardly sticks to it. The dual circuit system allows for simultaneous espresso preparation and the dispensing of steam or hot water. The thermosyphon system uses fresh water from the tank for espresso preparation instead of boiler water. Pure enjoyment.

Bought this from whole latte love, after 6 months the static relay broke. Whole latte love sent me instructions how to take the machine apart, go buy a electronic multimeter and start troubleshooting it myself. Totally ridiculous. But I have some electronics knowledge so I did it because I didn't want to pay the freight to ship this machine all the way back to New York. I replaced the static relay under warranty. Through months later the static relay failed again. I finally had to go to whole Lotte love and tell them I was afraid this machine was going to burn my house down and they decided to replace it, with the same manufacturer and same model. Fingers crossed that I get a good one and not a lemon. I'd stay away from a whole latte love, and I'd stay away from ... MoreBought this from whole latte love, after 6 months the static relay broke. This is a saga that went on for 7 months and the interior components had actually and literally burned, which is of course a terrible threat to my home and family safety.Research your machine and buy it from a local reseller that can support you because these things are heavy and complicated and when it breaks you'll want somebody nearby.

A year ago, I purchased a Breville Barista Pro and enjoyed making expresso so much that I decided to upgrade to a Prosumer machine. After reviewing and watching a lot of Youtube videos, I decided to go with the Profitec 500 PID w/Flow Control. The whole process buying through WLL was relatively easy and my machine arrived a week later. It is a beautiful machine and clearly 1000x better than my Breville. I've have pulled some amazing shots which made this purchase a worthwhile investment. The part that is giving me a headache is the flow control unit is not functioning properly. I submitted a ticket and WLL responded right away with a video to self diagnose the issue. Turns out it is not a simple fix and I have to actually take the whole flow control unit apart and ... MoreA year ago, I purchased a Breville Barista Pro and enjoyed making expresso so much that I decided to upgrade to a Prosumer machine. I am not a handy person, so let see how this goes.... :(

This replaced my dying Breville as my first "real" espresso machine. It has taken some learning to dial in, but I am now extremely pleased with the machine!Good:- Flow control is a must have! I've been able to save out of control shots using flow control many times when changing beans or grind.- Extremely heavy and solid construction. I can tell this machine is built to last.- Cool touch wand protects me from burning myself.- Group head pre-heats and doesn't require pre-flush before brewing.- Large water reservoir- Large and deep drip tray.- Multiple pressure gauges and PID automatically shows temp and shot timing. Super useful!Bad:- Can be a bit awkward to refill water reservoir if you store this machine under cabinets.- Takes roughly 20 mins to heat up ... MoreThis replaced my dying Breville as my first "real" espresso machine. It was expensive for me, but it feels worth it to be able to make great espresso at home every day for the next 10 years. I highly recommend getting this one with flow control as I've been able to save many shots. If the flow starts too fast, you can just restrict it and if it goes to slow, you can open the flow up more. It's a game changer.

We upgraded from a Gaggia Classic Pro that served its purpose of introducing us to the world of espresso, and we could not be happier choosing this beautiful machine. Not only does this machine look gorgeous with its shiny mirror finish in our kitchen, it also pulls delicious shots and is easy to use with its separate brew and steam gauges. Say good bye to temperature surfing and various hacks used to guess the approximate temperature to brew espresso and steam milk thanks to the PID temperature control that turns into a very useful timer when pulling shots. Being able to brew espresso and steam milk at the same time as well as pulling back-to-back shots especially for milk-based drinks thanks to the heat exchanger and large boiler is an absolute game changer!!! We also want to thank Maryann and Mark for being very personable, offering great customer service and for their patience in helping us with this purchase as well as a grinder to pair with this machine and other accessories.
This was a replacement for my 10-year-old Rancilio Silvia. This is a step up to my Expresso game. It is nice to be able to pour shots and steam milk simultaneously. A great improvement for multiple people. I am still refining my shots. I think the double shot portafilter in the bottomless is larger than expected. I am finding that I need to put about 22g of ground coffee in it. One thing to note, if you are placing the machine under a kitchen cabinet, make sure you have clearance and can move the machine out. The reservoir for water is on the top back of the machine. You have to remove the warming tray and either remove the water reservoir or fill it directly. Either way, I must pull my machine out from under the cabinet to provide enough clearance to gain access. ... MoreThis was a replacement for my 10-year-old Rancilio Silvia. Amazing quality workmanship in this machine. After a year learning on a cheap espresso machine I took the leap and bought the Pro 500 with pid and flow control. I did a lot of research and finally settled on this. I really did not want to spent this much but it is worth every penny. Amazing espresso and total control to experiment with using flow and pid. If you are on the fence about buying this, just get it, you will not be disappointed. WLL also did a great job to carefully protect it in shipping, it arrived safe and in perfect condition. Looking forward to many years of amazing espresso from it. The only negative I would have to note is that I wish the OPV adjustment was more easily accessible.
My old, but trustworthy Espobar Office Lever finally bit the dust in a most expensive way, so rather than spend a month waiting (and sleeping) for the repairs we splurged and got the Profitec 500... it came with the flow control valve.Setting up the PID was a breeze. I suppose the fact that I read the instructions first made it easy.Being used to the E61 grouphead and with constants in the mix, grinder and coffee roast, made it very easy to start pulling shots with lots of crema. I started by setting the flow control about midway... 6 atmospheres and played a bit up and down, but 4 to 6 makes the best crema and the best taste. Played a little bit around it, but all in all I got it dialed in one day.The pannarello wand has two holes at the bottom, each shooting ... MoreMy old, but trustworthy Espobar Office Lever finally bit the dust in a most expensive way, so rather than spend a month waiting (and sleeping) for the repairs we splurged and got the Profitec 500... it came with the flow control valve.Setting up the PID was a breeze. Played a little bit around it, but all in all I got it dialed in one day.The pannarello wand has two holes at the bottom, each shooting about 45 degrees from the vertical, 90 degrees from each other, so I had to train myself to keep it a little deeper into the milk that with a single hole machine... but after 10 seconds I was used to it and I must say the microfoam is faster to achieve now.Other than that, I'm very happy with it. I love the simplicity and industrial looks of the old Expobar and I find the Italian jobs to be overly fancy, chromed and priced. The Profitec looks very nice, elegant in its own German way and surely made to last a while. My only concern is the small volume of the drip tray. I wish it were deeper. It will take a couple of drains when I backflush the machine, but since that's not something I do daily, weekly at most, it's not a big issue.Nice, great coffee. Wonderful cappuccinos ( that's for my wife, I don't much go for that newfangled stuff, I like my cafe's black with lotsa crema).El Rey is dead, Long Live Das Kaiser! ;-D

This machine replaces my two previous heat-exchange machines, an Isomac Tea which was followed by a VBM Junior. We've had the Profitec for just a few days now and I'm still getting it dialed but so far, I'm very happy I upgraded, and this machine is indeed an upgrade. Although it's an HX single boiler like my previous machines, the PID and flow control change the character and versatility a great deal. Whole latte love's video library has been a fantastic resource for getting all the coffee parameters figured out to get consistent and exceptional results. The consistency of the brewing temp is very noticeable, even with the single boiler style setup. I'm super impressed with how the flow control allows for profiling your shots to get great results. The consistency of the brewing temp is very noticeable, even with the single boiler style setup. I'm super impressed with how the flow control allows for profiling your shots to get great results. The vibration pump on this model is very well isolated from the machine itself, making for noticeably quieter and smoother operation than my previous two vibration pump machines. The Profitec looks incredible, the case is highly polished and flawless. The top grate/warmer tray as well as the drip tray are exceptional looking and have a hefty, solid feel. The reservoir is easy to fill and access if you need to remove it for cleaning. Everything about this Profitec says 'quality'. Quite honestly, I was a bit reluctant to make the investment in another single boiler, HX machine as I did not think there could be such a performance jump unless I dropped $2.5 to $3k or more on a double boiler. Happily, the Pro 500 PID proves otherwise. I'm getting better, more consistent shots than ever with an absolutely beautiful, well designed, quality espresso machine.
After a lot of research I decided to purchase the Profitec Pro 500 PID. I didn't want to purchase something too cheap and lacking features, but also didn't want to spend a super crazy amount of money. I am very satisfied with my purchase, as the product is beautiful and is not as difficult to use as I had feared. There are always great YouTube videos that have helped inform me, as well as taking the time to read the instruction manual that came with this machine. Making espresso and lattte art is very challenging, but I am really excited with this new hobby that I have decided to tackle. Customer support at Whole Latte Love is also excellent, as they answered a few questions that I had after purchasing this product.
