We came to the store to check out this beautiful guitar. We were originally looking at the SE Standard and SE Custom, but really liked the way this played and the toggles to control the pickups. We probably tried out 20+ guitars in the same price range and kept coming back to this one. The sound and feel are great.

I had my eye on a PRS and finally managed to get one. I was not disappointed, this guitar has an amazing tome and the pick up selection options make it a good all rounder for the guitarist who likes to try many genres. It is well balanced and I don’t get fatigue which I have had in the past with some guitars when playing for a while. You can’t fault the look of these guitars, they really are easy on the eye.

PRS SE STANDARD 24-08.Wow, what a great guitar. It plays really well, with a clean fretboard (no sharp fret ends). Having played a few PRS guitars, this certainly equals them in terms of tones and playability. The switching is great and give better options than the non 24-08. The only thing I would have liked was the transparent blue to be more transparent.It played perfectly straight out of the box.
Lovely instrument which would have been priced well even had it not been in the sale, which made it irresistible. It has a warmer sound than my ancient CE24, which means i have the contrast I was looking for. The bound neck's a little chunkier, but that's not a bad thing, just different. I like the single-coil tap switches better than a pull-pot too. I also like the fact that 'student/entry-level' guitars nowadays are as good as anything I could have bought at any price in the 1980's.The durability score is an unknown because it's brand new.

But from the moment I tried to strum the first chord I have been progressively more disappointed. Terrible fret buzz. The tremelo springs were anchored so poorly that the entire guitar buzzed. Then while at rehearsal I couldn't play in tune, no matter how many times I tuned up, so I played while still connected to the tuner and discovered SEVERE symptoms of tuning instability from the 5/6th fret down. He blamed my lack of understanding of how to play guitar and excessive neck relief for the issues, and kindly offered to charge me $150 to set up the brand new guitar properly. All in all you should look elsewhere for an affordable, middleweight guitar. If you're lucky enough to get a guitar that's good quality, awesome. If you aren't so lucky, good luck to you.
I needed an "everything guitar". This did great and had a great price as well. The two switches up and middle toggle will give an amazing 4th position strat duplication which I really like. Very easy to have a single coil on the neck and humbucker in the rear, but I've found I love single coil settings on both pickups the most, even with metal, it has this crazy attack to it. I played it next to an s2, the s2 had a fatter neck, but the sound was nearly the same (there is a slight difference). S2 seemed to have crisper switching, but that was really all. I liked the slimmer neck on the SE, so that's what I ended up with. Tremolo fluttering can definitely be done on this and it stays in tune after going wild on it.
This is my 4th guitar I bought sight unseen, (I have 8) and this will be my go to guitar, my spalted telecaster was my go to guitar but this ones got it beat. Both sound different so Ill still use my Tele but for Music videos and recording, it will be this one.also it fits in my Tele case.Thanks again Sims Music.
