I was really hoping (as were most) that this would be NFS Underground 3. However, I had realistic expectations that it wouldn't be at all. The tuning is good for the cars that have it available, although some cars are very lacking in customization. The handling is going to be pretty polarizing for most players. It's still a game worth playing though, and I don't think fans of the more recent games in the series will be disappointed. Graphics wise, it's very pretty, but still not on the level of Driveclub.

I'll give the creators credit, they definitely attempted to revive this franchise. Bringing back the illegal underground street racing world is exactly what we wanted. The all out customization, the running from police and even the cool looking story line even though it's meaningless and boring, it really made an effort to get us back. It's a really cool game but overcoming the physics and the awful story line is basically half the battle, which is where they failed to execute correctly. In my opinion, that's a huge part you need to get right.

It's funny because to hit the apex I just aim for the same posts everytime.When it rains and you have significant lighting in the environment the frames drop to about 10-15fps, what's funny is speed input is still there but steering input gets lost. So, you can't steer or correct steer.Did I mention about the obscene load times also? (This is on hhd/ssd! Not in disc)The sad truth is that the only way to beat this is brute force (ie outpower significantly rivals). So little/no skill required, just grinding.Ive played most nfs games and sadly this one feels very, very lazy. I bought it for ~£1 on sale. Fortunately I didn't buy it when it was new out.I'm doing the time because nostalgic, but as a new comer/not a huge fan of nfs world, give it a miss. Definitely not missing anything.

Also, the integrated constant online feature messes with your single player - as you are racing AI, online drivers could drive into you whilst free roaming, this then messes with your race. Overall, for the price - it is worth it. However, the fun will not last unless you start finding your own challenges. There are only 50 cars in the game which is terrible, but the game focuses on customisation, so this is understandable. It clearly was a reboot of the underground series but it failed but not really bad, just not great. There drift, drags, timed races and regular races. The races are ok. Make sure to tune your car when drifting because if you dont get it right in a certain way it will be challenging to earn points to drift. Haven't tried the drag races yet. Circuit and times races are terrible and boring. They tried to add a live action story mode which is boring and flat. In short this remake is a drag. Try playing the classics or criterion collection both are better than this.
To start off, this is a good game. It it just not a good "underground" racing game like EA said it was going back to. This game is pretty fun but lacks a lot of what I assumed would have been in the game.The racing in Need for speed was a lot of fun. It is pretty easy to get in and win some races. Also the graphics are top notch and game does look amazing. The cars the game has in it have great detail, plus some pretty cool but limited things to customize. It it just not a good "underground" racing game like EA said it was going back to. This game is pretty fun but lacks a lot of what I assumed would have been in the game.The racing in Need for speed was a lot of fun. It is pretty easy to get in and win some races. Also the graphics are top notch and game does look amazing. The cars the game has in it have great detail, plus some pretty cool but limited things to customize. After the trail I have changed my mind and decided to save my money.Starting off, this game requires it to always be online when playing. I find this funny as there is pretty much zero multiplayer unless you are playing with friends who also have the game. Just like the last Need for Speed title, it is a single player game that happens to have other random players driving around the huge open world, so occasionally you might see one drive by you. There is no option to jump into a game room with your customized car and do sprint races or anything else with random people. The story mode is fine but the actual acting is painful to watch with the words bae, dope, monster energy drinks at every turn, and just making the race community look like idiots.My other issue is that apparently you have loads of customization options.. NOT TRUE! My second vehicle purchase I found this out. I was not able to change the hood, front or rear bumpers, grill, or even side skirts. I was left with one body kit, a spoiler and rims, oh and side fenders. Each area you can change has maybe 2 options such as if the car has the option to change a front bumper, you will have two to choose from. Also the car selection is something around 30 cars if I am not mistaken. I would be fine with the small car selection if I was actually able to fully customize the cars in all aspects rather than a very select few.This was a game I really did wish I liked. This is a fun racing game but again, if you were wanting a game like the older underground series or even Carbon, you will be disappointed. With the lack of any multiplayer, very little customization compared to older underground/carbon games, and annoying acting with too much product placement, this game gets a sad two stars from me.My advice, get the EA pass for five bucks for a month and do the 10 hour trial.
