I have two yorkies - one is almost 6 lbs, the other is about 3.5 lbs. I bought two of these harnesses - one in a small and the other in an x-small. The small one fits my bigger yorkie perfectly. It's soft and breathable, and is super easy to put on/take off. The x-small fit my smaller yorkie at first, but he's outgrown it now and the small is still too big, so he's in between sizes. That's my only issue with these harnesses - there's a sizing gap between the x-small and small. Otherwise, they are great. Comfy and convenient and very reasonably priced!

When I've bought harnesses in the past, medium has always been the right fit for a Scottish Terrier and King Charles Spaniel. But when I got them, they were too small. Chewy graciously sent the large size for both my dogs without further charge, and the fit was perfect. I had just made a cross country move and unless the fit is too snug, it is possible for them to spook and in a panic, to yank their way out of a regular harness, so they were in heavy duty harnesses for a few months, which I no longer needed once they got their bearings and knew we were home in our new place. They are much happier with the lightweight but secure fit of these harnesses.

I ordered the harness in a medium for my 15 lb mini pin and it fits great. It is soft and light too. My only criticism would be the release to unhook it when removing could be a little easier to squeeze but it is the best harness I have found for her.I also ordered one for my chihuahua/jack russell and I have to saythe customer service is excellent. I had to call to get a bigger size and they sent one right away and told me to donate the xs that didn’t fit her.
| Small (Chihuahua, Havanese) | 26cm |
| Medium (Maltese, Yorkshire Terrier) | 29cm |
| Large (Dachshund, Pekinese) | 34cm |
| X Large (Beagle, Jack Russel) | 39cm |

Recommended by a dachshund breeder. Easy to use. Wide from to distribute any force. Had this same one previously for 3 years. The old one was just getting shabby and worn.
First, Chewy.com is amazing and their customer service team seriously go out of their way to make sure you are happy with your purchase. With that said, this harness is very difficult to size if your dog is in between sizes. I have a 6 pound long haired chihuahua. Her girth measurement is 12.5 inches and her fur adds a tiny bit more. Per Puppia's size guide, we ordered a size Small. It can buckle, but the Velcro part doesn't attach all the way. And it doesn't sit on her as a vest should, like other pictures of dogs I've seen with the vest; it looks like it's too short for her body. So I spoke with Chewy and they sent a Medium. This looks too big on her. So now we don't know what to do. I suppose we might just keep the Small because I don't want her to accidentally ... MoreFirst, Chewy.com is amazing and their customer service team seriously go out of their way to make sure you are happy with your purchase. I suppose we might just keep the Small because I don't want her to accidentally back out of the Medium harness which is a serious safety hazard. I guess I am not sure exactly how this is supposed to fit on a dog? Should it fit snug like a shirt? Or loose? Other than sizing, I love this harness and always choose Puppia for our little one. The two ring leash attachments do feel a bit big for this small of a harness.
Purchased this harness in a size small for my 10lb dog based on the sizing chart in the product description/photo. She is typically a size XS/S in other brands, and her measurements were well within the size small range. In reality, the size small is teeny tiny, probably better suited for a 5lb dog. Granted, it *technically* fits around her neck, it sits tighter than I even keep her collar and is so short it would restrict her movement. Really disappointed, as it will be a pain to try to return. Will stick to the brand of harness she wears now, and repurchase that elsewhere instead.
My dog is nearly 10 years old and he has refused to walk in countless harnesses that I've bought for him throughout his life. We FINALLY have a winner in this harness!!!! I have a 12.8 pound Coton de Tulear and the size Large fits him perfectly. But... sizing is tricky for this item; like all vest harnesses, it will either work for your dog or it won't. Based on my dog's and the products' measurements I tried the XL first but that was WAY too big on him. Thankfully, however, the large fits him perfectly. I HIGHLY recommend giving this harness a try, if like me, you have a very sensitive dog who hates straps or velcro rubbing against him. The great thing about Chewy is they'll help you with sizing and typically work with you if it just doesn't fit your dog. We tried other vest brands (HK and Voyager but they didn't have a size that was just right for my dog). If the Puppia doesn't have a size that works for your small dog, those brands might. But I hope the Puppia mesh vest harness works for your dog... it has been a true game changer for mine!!!!!
I have a min pin that has been able to slip out of other harnesses. Not this one however. It fits securely and I know it is comfortable because he is happy to have it put on. The first several times I used the harness on him, I also used his slip lead collar at the same time as a backup in case he wiggled out of the harness. I recommend it as a secure way to test harnesses on little escape artists.
I ordered a small, expecting it to fit my shih-tzu and/or my malti-poo, both of whom measure less than 18" at the chest. The chest strap was long enough, but the part that goes around the neck barely went over their heads and there wasn't enough distance from the neck to the chest piece, making the chest strap sit up too far under their arms. Of course in the usual Chewy fashion, they were happy to issue credit for the product and I will be ordering something different, but just to help others looking for something for a similarly sized dog, I wanted to mention these things. The product is nice and well made, but for that size dog, I'd probably order a medium.
I’m on my 3rd harness now. I’m tired of wasting money. I have a 10 pound pug puppy. I started with a small cause she can wear a small in other styles. The small was to small. I ordered a medium. Not much bigger than the small and was still to small. So I ordered a large. It isn’t much bigger than the small or medium. It barely fits her. Now I need a X-Large and I’m not ordering any more. This is ridiculous.
