I’ve seen these types of products around and tried one that was a dud. I expected it to be a clear runny serum but this one is opaque, I left it on for 10 minutes in my fine colored blonde past shoulder length damaged hair and whoa. My hair looked glossy and gorgeous, feels like it helps retain that smoothness after styling. My color looks brighter and my ends feel like they’ve been bonded. Has that lovely sandalwood type smell that pureology does so well. Colored or not this would be great to just give you hair a boost of glowing weightless shine! I used it right after shampooing and skipped conditioner but you can follow up with one, I’ve tried both ways but feel I really don’t need the conditioner on these days. Lasts thru shampoos. I received this product for free from Influenster for review. I found that the topcoat+ sheer Did seem to make my hair shinier and made the color in my hair seem a bit “brighter” and revitalized. For reference I have some balayage highlights; blonde from last summer and red from Fall. I have not colored recently but the highlights are still clearly visible. I am considering dying my hair back to one shade it since the colors are a big grown out, but I think this product would work well if you were trying to make your hair color stand out. This product is scented, I would describe it as a strong gardenia scent. I only noticed to send upon application, but not at all after my hair was dry. My curl pattern, I believe, is a 4b and 4c, but at the nape of my hair, my curls are a lot bigger, and it is a 4a, but the top/crown of my hair is straight. Not only because of how amazing it smells, but because of the fact that it literally feels like it MELTS my hair and makes my hair so silky, smooth and soft. I mean, like literally, it was so very soft and manageable that I truly was able to detangle it with just the shampoo alone!! Usually, I would have to pre-poo, but for the sake of this review, I skipped the pre-poo and only used the products that were sent so that I could get a true, honest opinion. I panicked because it said there was no need to condition my hair afterward. All you do is shampoo, and then apply this top coat product that you leave on for about 10 minutes and rinse off, and then apply the leave-in conditioner that also smells divine. All in all, it left my hair so, so, nice and soft, and the smell is absolutely amazing. Now, I never was good with wash-n-gos before because my hair would poof out into a dry-looking semi-afro, but with this line, my curls are popping, and it's not like a Q-tip like it usually is. This top coat provides SO MUCH shine luster! With it being Covid and with me not having anywhere to go, I do not wash my hair nearly as much as I use to, because it's not like I'm out in the elements of the world, nor am I sweating or anything -- so as I'm writing this review, it's been three days since I have put ANYTHING else in it, and my curls are just as prominent and lustrous as they were the night I washed them. So, I am totally in love with this line of products and will totally implement them in my haircare routine. They say that when you find something that works, you need to stick with it, and since this product has been so intensely and utterly satisfying, I will continue to use it. As my middle picture attests, clearly I am a certified, bonafied, qualified, and quantified product junkie! I have been around the block a time or four thousand dealing with these different products, so I have the experience to know various products, and this line of products seriously ranks amongst the top of them all! It is my pleasure to proudly confess and state that from this point on, I will continue to use Pureology's hair products in my hair care regimen from here on out! I can confidentially say Pureology might just be one of my go to brands now. I love that this brand uses no sulfates, parabens, formaldehyde or mineral oils to name a few. The smell is divine, which I believe is the aromatherapy blend of rose, floral ginger cedarwood according to the product description. My hair does look vibrant but to be honest I’m not sure if it’s a result of this top coat or the deep conditioning mask I use and is suggested to use in conjunction with this topcoat. I've tried countless shampoos and other products to reduce the brassiness of my blonde hair and haven't been fully sold on the results. I've tried the least expensive to high end salon products. This one works great, so far. After using twice, there was no need to rotate it in as frequently as the others. It's not as drying as many of the lower end products and does a better job in achieving the tone I want compared to the higher end products. I like that's it's not a shampoo, you should use after shampooing and let it sit for about 6-10 minutes, then rinse. The applicator tip is a nice touch for targeting certain areas closer to the scalp. Initially, I used this twice during the week but think the directions call for using every 6-8 washings. After the first week, that's been accurate for me. I have long hair and do go kind of heavy on the application but this will last at least a few months. I'll definitely buy again.

Hair has a mere gleam

I really wanted this to work. I have box dye black hair, but my hair texture remains the same as my virgin hair. I have mostly straight hair that's slightly frizzy and lightweight were my hair doesn't lay flat. I followed the instructions and my hair is not shiny or glossy, there is a slight gleam to it, SLIGHT. It's really not worth it, the effect is so minuscule, you can just use hair oil. I'm not upset about buying it, but I wouldn't rebuy for sure. Still trying to find that effective shine at-home hair product.

I have received this product before from influenster and Pureology in a previous voxbox, but the last gloss was tinted, purple for blondes. This version is a clear gloss. The glossing effect was the same for both. It’s effective as a gloss. My only negative is that I’ve noticed my ends seem a bit damaged and dry once the gloss begins to wash out. The amount of time you get out of an application where the gloss effect is noticed depends on how often you wash your hair and what you wash your hair with. Pureology CLEAR GLOSS Coat.

This Works PERFECT. It is a clear gloss and had a light refreshing smell. No harsh chemicals. My hair looks shiny and thick & healthy. Last week, I used a product by Madison-Reed, that was miss-marked CREMA, which I took to mean cream. Oh, no, it turned my light blond hair, into a purple & grayish mop. I SCREAMED. I called Madison-Reed, they said to use a Deep Cleansing Shampoo. It finally came out, but stripped out my Highlights that I had paid $250.00 for two weeks ago. EXPENSIVE LESSON. For NOW ON, I will ONLY use Pureology Clear Gloss.

Renewed my hair!

My hair is wavy/curly, frizzy, thick, and long. My hair used to be soft on its own but I realized over the last couple years that my hair has gotten wirey, overly frizzy, damaged, and wouldn't even hold a curl or straightening. I have been on a really long journey to try to fix my hair and restore it to how it used to be. I have tried almost everything. I tried this for the first time and my hair was almost 100% back to how it used to be! Shiny, soft, way less frizz!!! I couldn't believe it! And it says it lasts for up to 8 shampoos which I was a little skeptical about, but it actually does last through about 5-6 shampoos for me!

THE BEST EVER!

I tried this as a sample on my fine, curly hair which is now my natural color (thanks to COVID and my salon being closed).This incredible product turned my long silver hair into super soft, shiny curls that look gorgeous. Yes, I am young and have a full head of silver hair. Go figure!Needless to say, I already have a backup bottle in my closet. I will always have this fabulous product on hand. Due to the price point, I was considering other brands; however, I'm skeptical. And Pureology is worth it.Definitely hooked!
