I want to start off by saying my hair is actually a natural, cool blonde, and not brassy or dyed blonde, so I can’t say how well this purple conditioner works at toning brassy/dyed hair. The Pureology Strength Cure Blonde conditioner has a nice smell that isn’t too strong. It’s a pretty purple color that seems like it would do a good job toning brassy hair. It’s also vegan, which is something I look for when buying haircare products. As I said before, my hair isn’t brassy, so I can’t rate how well this conditioner tones brassy hair; my review is just based on how well it works as a regular conditioner. As a conditioner, I thought this product was just okay. It made my hair a little smoother, but my hair actually felt softer and looked shinier when I used the Pureology Strength Cure Blonde shampoo by itself. My hair had more fly-aways after I used this conditioner. I also noticed that this conditioner contains amodimethicone, a silicone that can build up in hair and cause it to become brittle over time. The shampoo has the same type of silicone in it, so I would be afraid to use them together for an extended time. In the past, my hair became brittle from extended use of shampoo/conditioner with silicone, so I’ve switched to silicone-free hair products and noticed a big improvement. Overall, I thought the Pureology Strength Cure Blonde conditioner was just okay. It didn’t work as well as my regular (silicone-free) conditioner, and this one is much more expensive. It wouldn’t be worth the money for me to buy it, but it was nice to try it out. This condition would probably work better for someone who needs the toning aspect of it. As a regular conditioner, it’s just not for me.

I have had my eye on this for a looong time. I’ve heard great things but the price point had always been a deterrent. Let me preface that I’ve tried (several different brand drugstore and professional purple shampoo over the years) and currently use professional purple shampoo and conditioner. Right off the bat the smell is great. The consistency of the shampoo is thick. Which is great for application especially with purple shampoo when it comes to bottle - hand - head and when the consistency is runnier, you’ll see splatter all over the shower. The conditioner is creme like (probably the thickest conditioner I’ve ever seen) very dark violet and directions say to leave on for 5 mins. The results. I honestly wasn’t wow’d. I hyped these products up in my mind possibly due too 1) being the price point expensive = better 2) reviews swaying me saying that it’s the “holy grail” when reviewers perhaps haven’t tried competitor products or are “upgrading” from drugstore purple. I didn’t notice my hair being any “different” from what I’m already using. I’m sharing a “before” picture which is my normal pro purple shampoo/conditioner. I waited 5 days in-between, then washed with Pureology which is the “after” picture. I didn’t see any “toning” effects out of the wheelhouse of what I’m already using. The product is definitely luxurious, smells great, and clean my hair efficiently. But I didn’t notice any standout toning or brightening effects and at double the price point as the competitor, I do not see myself repurchasing.

My hair after using this conditioner was very different and I loved it. I would def recommend this Pureology Conditioner and I do see a difference in the strength of my hair. Another good thing about this brand of conditioner is since my hair is fine it didn't leave my hair feeling weighed down with no body or volume. So I was very happy with that also. So to the ladies looking for a purple conditioner that actually is going to help your hair needs after all we do it this is a great product. I will purchase this product and I have found a Conditioner that actually helps my hair.

Best Ever for Blonde Colored Hair!
20 April 2021

I received both the shampoo and conditioner products free for testing purposes from Influenster and Pureology. I'm going to give a completely honest review as well! Even if I had purchased these products, I would still give both 5/5 stars! They smell amazing and left my hair feeling so soft and healthy! I have long, wavy, fine hair, my natural hair color is brown, but I get full platinum blonde highlights approximately every 2-3 months, so my hair is damaged from the bleach and chemicals. I noticed right away, after just one use of the shampoo and conditioner that the brassiness and warm tones were nearly eliminated, which was exactly what I was hoping for. I noticed right away, after just one use of the shampoo and conditioner that the brassiness and warm tones were nearly eliminated, which was exactly what I was hoping for. They worked so well to tone my hair back to the neutral, cooler tone I originally had when I last got highlights. I was amazed at how well it worked for that. My hair tangles very easily and the conditioner greatly improved the dryness of my hair and scalp, my hair doesn't feel as brittle or "like straw" from the coloring process. It didn't take me as long to comb out my tangles and once my hair was dry, it felt so much softer and healthier immediately. I also noticed the more I used these products, the more improvement I felt and saw as well! I wash my hair about 2-3 times/week and these products do not dry out my hair like other "purple" shampoos, etc can do. They actually moisturize your hair and scalp and improve everything. I highly recommend both the Pureology shampoo and conditioner for anyone who has blonde highlights, brassiness or damage! They work amazingly and I will continue to purchase and use these, even after my samples are gone! They've made a loyal, lifelong customer out of me now!

Cuts Brassiness And Frizz
17 April 2021

I received the Pureology Strength Cure Blonde #VoxBox complimentary to test from Influenster in exchange for my honest review. This review is for the Pureology Strength Cure Blond Conditioner. I'm tossed up whether to give this a 4 or 5 but will go with a 5 due to the fantastic results. This is a thick conditioner and it's purple with a wonderful scent. Just like the Pureology Strength Cure Blond Shampoo, I felt that it plumped up my hair strands which make them feel thicker. The conditioner cuts down on brassiness and it also cuts down on frizziness too which is an extra added benefit I was pleasantly surprised with. My hair is damaged and it is visibly healthier as it has started to heal and repair it. I've used it 5 days in a row and would continue to buy it. Now for the reason I almost went with a 4 instead of 5. The directions say to leave the conditioner on for 5 minutes. I usually condition my hair last and it's on 1-2 minutes max. When I did this, my hair was very hard to comb through. Thankfully I've used Pureology Color Fanatic Multi-Tasking Leave-In Spray for a few years and quickly sprayed that on my hair which let me easily comb through. Had I not had the spray, it would have been difficult since my hair is long and naturally tangled after a shower. The second time I used it I actually applied it in the beginning of my shower and let sit. When I did that, I didn't have a problem combing through my hair. I also love that this is sulfate free.

Decent toning conditioner
1 May 2021

I received this product complimentary from Pureology and Influenster in exchange for my honest review. I recently highlighted and toned my naturally dark blonde hair and got the opportunity to try out this Pureology Strength Cure Blonde Conditioner. This conditioner is meant to tone brassy color out of blonde or highlighted hair, and also add smoothness and shine for healthier hair overall. It is deeply pigmented purple and the instructions say to apply after shampooing, wait 5 minutes and rinse. After using this conditioner a few times I noticed my hair is smooth and soft and it is a great conditioner overall. One thing I will mention is if you have never used a purple shampoo or conditioner, it can stain your fingernails or towels so be careful even after rinsing. ... MoreI received this product complimentary from Pureology and Influenster in exchange for my honest review. I noticed that after using this conditioner my hair seems to be in pretty good shape, but I wouldn't say it is a deep conditioner or anything. It is smoother and shinier and this conditioner definitely tones like it should but I only like to use it once a week because I don't feel like it moisturizes as much as I like. Another thing I didn't love was the smell. I don't like a lot of fragrance in products and this had a weird scent anyways. Overall I think this product does it's job and tones brassy hair and nourishes, and I'd recommend it for blondes looking for toning options.

Good alternative until the “non-blonde” versions comes back in stock!
21 April 2022

I recently visited my parents place and used this product (non-blonde version, I have dark brown hair) for the first time in a couple of years for the 3.5 week visit (it is not easily purchased where I live atm except from Look Fabtastic!). When I returned home, my hairdresser commented that my hair looked healthier than usual and suggested I continue using the same products. My hair feels stronger throughout and fuller through the ends (which usually become “ratty” quickly) even 6 weeks after my last hair appointment. Where I live has very harsh water that has weakened my hair over the last couple of years, but this really feels like it has helped repair some of that damage. The product covers the hair easily, I always make sure to emulsify the product in my hands first before applying and use a wide tooth comb to evenly distribute. I actually like the purple colour for this step because I can easily see that I have applied all the product from my hands into my hair! I have noticed I need to take a little more care to wash the product out otherwise I get purple marks on my towels (they wash out in my washing machine) but that is definitely my issue, not the products! I have fine, straight hair.

Great for highlights too

I received this product complimentary from Influensterin exchange for my honest review. I was so excited to receive this in the mail because I am already a fan of Pureology and use the hydrate sheer shampoo and conditioner everytime I wash my hair. However, since my hair is not totally blonde I wasn't entirely sure this product was even meant for me and as such probably would never have bought it. My hair more of a medium brown base with a golden and blonde balayage throughout. This product really could not have come in the mail at a better time bc I had a hair appointment the following day to touch up my color. So I figured what the heck, if it messes up my color I'm seeing my stylist tomorrow so let's try it out. The blonde highlights in my hair always tend to fade to a more brassy orangish color from the minerals in my water between my hair appointments. I washed with the shampoo and then left the conditioner on for 5 minutes like the bottle said. This product removed the brassiness and left the blonde with a cooler color just as if I had a toner done at the salon. It was also so shiny and soft. I talked to my stylist about it yesterday and she said that this type of product is great for highlights too. She also recommended only using once or twice a month as a treatment. I would highly recommend this for anyone that has blonde in their hair. I will continue to use it twice a month to keep my blonde highlights fresh.

Hard to use properly with no instructions...

Disclaimer: I received this product for free / complimentary in exchange for my honest review. OK, so they aren’t kidding when they say this is a purple shampoo/conditioner. It is PURPLE, lol (especially the conditioner, which is extremely highly pigmented). And from the warnings on the back of the bottles, this product means business. I found it interesting that it has detailed instructions on each bottle on how to do a skin patch test to check for an allergic reaction, but there is zero instruction on how to actually use the product on your hair. So without any instruction, I did the best I could, which may have affected the results (or lack thereof). I found it interesting that it has detailed instructions on each bottle on how to do a skin patch test to check for an allergic reaction, but there is zero instruction on how to actually use the product on your hair. So without any instruction, I did the best I could, which may have affected the results (or lack thereof). I wore rubber gloves for the application and I used both the shampoo and conditioner on about a two-inch-wide swatch of my hair near the front of my head. My hair has been very color-treated/bleached/kind of fried recently, so I thought it would take the color well. I shampooed and rinsed out the shampoo pretty quickly, but I left the conditioner on for about five minutes before rinsing it off. I was unable to tell that it had done anything to my hair color-wise, unfortunately. I’m thinking I probably would have had better results 1) if I had left it on for longer and 2) upon repeated uses. Also I think this product is intended for true light (cool-toned) blondes. My hair is currently more of an orange/ginger/rose gold color (which is one reason I didn’t want to use this product on my entire head, because I didn’t want to mess up my current hair color too much—the other reason being I’m scared to use the product on my scalp after seeing all the warnings on the back of the bottles!). So would I recommend this product to a friend? If I knew a blonde who is willing to drop 60 bucks on a shampoo/conditioner combo to use for toning down their brassiness, sure. I’ve always had a good experience with Pureology products and a little does go a long way. Would I buy this product for myself? Probably not.

Left hair soft and shiny, no color change

I received this item for free from Pureology and Influenster in exchange for my honest review. I’m not sure that I can fairly rate this product, as I have natural hair. I have not dyed it for a couple decades at least. My hair is strawberry blonde, and I thought that perhaps using this conditioner would bring out the blonde and maybe make the red a little less brassy, but I did not notice a change in color after using it. To be fair though, I really don’t think I had enough time to use the product before the due date of my review, because I also had another brand of conditioner to review in the same time frame, and I don’t shampoo/condition my hair every time I shower. Perhaps if I used it more often and for a longer amount of time it would be noticeable? I did ... MoreI received this item for free from Pureology and Influenster in exchange for my honest review. Perhaps if I used it more often and for a longer amount of time it would be noticeable? I did notice after using this conditioner that my hair felt healthier and was more manageable when styling. It was shinier than normal and less frizzy. So that was a plus. I also liked the scent of this conditioner. It is very lightly scented, not overwhelming like some scented conditioners can be, and that’s saying something, because I’m extremely sensitive to fragrance. It also smells better than other purple conditioners I’ve smelled (my daughter has used purple conditioner before). My teen daughter does have home bleached hair, so she has been using this product. It definitely took out a lot of the brassy tones in her hair, some of her hair ended up looking extremely platinum. So based on this, I would say it works well on color treated hair. But I’m not so sure it will do anything to natural hair based on my experience with it. I say this with all my reviews, and I’m not going to stop now: I would love to see all beauty companies come up with more environmentally conscious ways to package their products. Plastic is so not cool. I’ve been seeing a lot of companies putting their products in metal and cardboard packages. I think it would be great if Pureology would do the same.
