A bit expensive compared with the same jug without the lid, but its good quality and is just what I needed - a versatile measuring jug with a cover.
I bought this Pyrex jug to replace an old one I'd been using for well over 20 years, which was looking a little scruffy. It's my utensil of choice for cooking vegetables in the microwave. It saves cooking time, helps retain flavour, colour & nutrients and is easy to clean afterwards. Unlike cheaper plastic microwave pots, it doesn't become stained from the food it is used to heat/cook. As can be seen from the lifespan of its predecessor, it is also durable. What more can you ask? Highly recommended.
Jug is as described - capacious, strong, microwavable etc. Lid v useful and will save the need for cling film or a saucer to act as a lid substitute. The sticker took ages to get off as it left a residue. So irritating. Otherwise, great product.
Needed a heatproof jug for pouring in hot stuff like vegetable stock, sauce, from the pan when cooking. Fits the bill as it's sturdy, wide so easy to pour into and heat proof. The addition of the removable lid is a great design feature, as it seals tight to protect the contents, and helps keep them warm if needed. Nice clear measuring guide, easy to pour from and to clean. Great cooking aid and you could even serve sauces and gravies direct from it if you wanted. Fridgeproof. Can be put in microwave WITHOUT LID. I got 30% off so I'm very happy but it's well worth the money at full price. Can't go wrong with PYREX!!!
Very handy stackable jug with lid. Pop it in the fridge without having to bother with clingfilm, then take the lid off to microwave! I bought three of these earlier in the year when they were 30% off and haven't regretted it. Also available without the lid quite a bit cheaper if you just want a microwaveable jug that won't stain.
Does what it says on the jug. As other reviewers state, the sticker takes some effort/swearing/magical incantations to remove which is annoying. The lid is not watertight but good if you want to store something temporarily in the fridge or keep flies off on the counter. It's pyrex so I'm expecting this jug to outlive me by several generations.
is this item pyrex, yes its heavy, when half full its very heavy and hard to hold the handle, when cooking and your tipping very hot water it is not safe and it dribbles down the jug onto another suface. if more than half full as i req when baking you need a cloth to hold it. sorry about my comments but it is true. i have been forced to by a plastic one now.
