Really disappointed with this mini dish which I used for the first time today in the oven went to take it out and it broke straight down the middle into 2 halves Waste of money as not that cheap and Ive got the bigger one which I also bought last week thought they were ok for oven use. Not this one P.s. why cant we give a no star rating

As probably the most well known in this space Pyrex have been producing a range of dishes suitable for the oven for quite some time. These however, take the whole ease of use one step further being able to snap a lid on and take them for a ride. I took some time to check it out.As youd probably expect from Pyrex, this is a good quality glass dish, somewhat deeper than some of its counterparts but also a good size to be able to feed at least at few people from what you cook. Its safe to go in the oven apart from the plastic lid and cleans easily, including in the dishwasher. If you want to simplify your cooking as well as your leftovers, this is a good option.

This is a small pyrex dish with a leakproof pyrex lid that clips on securely, rather like the clipboxes that have become so popular. The best thing is that this will take a lot of use in a microwave less fixed lid whereas the plastic clipboxes tend to distort over time. The same applies to the dishwasher. You can also use the base in a convection oven just as you would any other pyrex dish. It holds 1.1 l and measures 23 x 15 x 6 cm. There are two clips that slide inwards to lock on to the handles on the base. The seal on the lid is silicon and firmly attached with a simple push and the clips for extra security. The upshot is that you can cook with it as well as store food with it in a cupboard, fridge or freezer.

I've always heard you can never go wrong with Pyrex.

Now I'm also telling you - you can never go wrong with Pyrex. The lid seals tight to retain moisture during microwave cooking but the vents/red ducts provide sufficient steam outlet.The container is dense and heavy which I like because it feels solid enough that dropping it would probably break the floor tiles rather than the container itself.

Microwavable but the design has many flaws.

I've recommended it because it was the cheapest large dish with microwavable lid that I found, but it has many drawbacks: - It is not liquid tight when fully closed, so packed lunches can leak. - The clips don't fully disengage from the dish, so the lid must be bent to be removed, which will reduce the lid's lifespan. - The lid becomes immediately and permanently stained by food, making it embarrassing to use in public. - There is only one, very tiny ventilation hole under each clip, instead of multiple holes. Very tight lid could be difficult for elderly to get off when full with hot food.However, first time I used it to reheat a casserole the lid came off at one end whilst in the microwave even through the vent holes were open so maybe not so difficult.Just be aware not to overfill it.

Nice product as it can be used in oven freezer and microwave. In the microwave it vents meaning perfectly reheated dinners
