There are plenty of reviews of this particular QNAP NAS enclosure to discuss here. If one needs a NAS with 4 disk bays, 2x M.2 pcie gen 3 slots, 2x 2.5Gb/s network i/f, standard Celeron CPU with 8GB of (non-upgradeable) memory, then this is for you.

So, there are quite a few pros to this NAS. First, the UI is pretty snappy once all of the underlying tasks of the initial build are complete. There are a myriad of options with this NAS for which you will need to have some IT knowledge. QNAP is still testing Seagate drives which is what I normally use and I was able to us the same family of drives with no issues even though they were not on their compatibility list. QNAP seems to be a bit more tolerant in that respect than Synology. It is easy to get the device up and running in its basic configuration. I was able to load data at a good clip and do LAN-based Rsync's easily between it and Synology NAS's without issue.Things to think about: Definitely not as intuitive as Synology but has more granular configuration ... MoreSo, there are quite a few pros to this NAS. If you are a technology geek, you will probably love it. The big burp for me is that I cannot remote replicate to the NAS over an encrypted port, leaving my credentials and data in open text over the internet. I can't find any information on the internet that states otherwise. Also, Photo Station again is much more intuitive on other NAS brands. I thought maybe QNAP had fixed some of the issues in later QTS builds, but not so. Please keep in mind that my rating is based on my use cases and your use cases may vary. The NAS looks great and has NVME capabilities for cache. I'm glad they stuck with Intel CPU's with embedded graphics where other vendors are going to AMD with no embedded graphics. If you are using this as a storage only device, you will be pretty happy with it. If you need to remote sync and use your phone to remote display photos on the NAS, you may like some other NAS brands better.
