Quell - QC1500 Caravan & Motor Home Smoke Alarm

With travel restrictions starting to lift across the country, and the weather improving across most states, families are looking to travel across this great land of ours in caravans and camper vans. Built tough The Quell caravan and motor home alarm is built tough and vibration tested, designed specifically for campervans, caravans, onsite vans, park vans and annexes. Protect your family when travelling Changes to the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation have introduced the requirement for smoke alarms be installed in areas where people sleep for all existing and new caravans, campervans, motorhomes, park vans and associated structures. The Quell QC1500 Photoelectric smoke alarm has been designed to face the rigors you would typically expect in mobile dwellings such as heightened vibration, extremes in temperature and the potential of nuisance alarms from dust, bugs and cooking. Fires develop in many ways and are often unpredictable. Photoelectric smoke alarms can provide early warning of a fire giving time for occupants to escape. Suitable alarm locations You must have at least one working smoke alarm in all areas where occupants sleep. Quell also recommends the installation of a dry chemical powder fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide alarm and fire blanket along with ensuring you have a fire escape plan to ensure caravan owners are adequately prepared in the event of an emergency.

Does not have a replaceable battery

I paid extra to buy this alarm because I thought it would be good to have in our caravan with its advertised feature of being more sturdy.Only installed it yesterday, but I’m already disappointed that a $29 alarm has to be thrown out when the battery goes flat. What a waste of money and resources. I won’t be buying a second one when this one is flat.

While recently installed have had no issues. Has a 10 yr battery where our old one needed 9v which continually went flat.

Works and is cheap to get just in case. We bought for our campervan to keep us a little safer. Very loud beep.

Keeps sounding alarm
20 April 2022

I bought this thinking it would be great for our van, while it was fine while on the road, I have been woken up twice in the early hours of the morning by a shrill alarm. No fire, just going off to wake up the neighbourhood!

Too sensitive to dust
13 February 2021

In less than a year it stopped responding to the recommended cleaning, and just constantly beeping. Why sell a long life, vibration resistant alarm if it's easily ruined by dust?

Two have been faulty, third time lucky
25 January 2021

Returned my first on due to it going off randomly without reason and then the test button no longer worked. Second one that it was replaced with has now started going off in the middle of the night at full alarm for no reason. I expected more quality from this brand. I’ll try one more then that’s it.
