As a performance athlete who needs added protein to get through my day, as well as someone who loves all things Quest, I picked up a 12-pack of these on Amazon for $24.72 (usually $29.99, but they often go on sale). At 180 calories for 20g of protein, these have some of the best macros out there (not just among Quest bars, which are usually 190 calories, but among all protein bars on the market), and the 60g weight makes them a filling snack to help me get through my day! These bars are definitely chocolatey and dense, in a fudgy brownie way. I did appreciate the real chunks of minty white chocolate in the bar, as well as the crunchy cookie pieces that added a nice textural contrast! It tastes like a thin mint in a protein bar, really capturing the flavor. It tastes like a thin mint in a protein bar, really capturing the flavor. One thing that you can do to minimize the denseness of the bar (if you don’t like the heavy protein-bar taste - I actually really like it) is warm it up in the microwave for about 15 seconds - the bar becomes a bit melty (especially the chocolate chunks), and you can eat it with a fork and knife, almost like a warm brownie! One disclaimer is that if you have an intolerance to artificial sweeteners or large amounts of fiber, this may not be the product for you. Quest uses a lot of erythritol and prebiotic fiber to bulk up their products, which can make some people bloated and uncomfortable. I have no such problem with this, so these are totally fine for me! Overall, I think that this is one of the best Quest flavors out there. If you want a cheaper alternative, the Costco Chocolate Brownie Protein Bars are a great option, and taste fairly similar to this flavor, at less than half the price, but there’s really nothing that can compare to this minty protein bar!

Double Chocolate Chunk was very, very bland. The merest hint

Double Chocolate Chunk was very, very bland. The merest hint of a taste of dark chocolate but not totally bitter. I've previously had Cookie Dough, Cookies and Cream, Chocolate Peanut Butter, S'mores and Brownie flavours. Honestly, none are great. Most with barely a hint of the flavours described. The most palatable to me were the Cookie Dough and Cookies and Cream. The Cookie Dough edged it. Texture and flavours of all seem to vary and sometimes batches of even the best flavours become bland. Texture of the Cookie Dough is sometimes similar to actual cookie dough but other times it's like Blu-Tack. 🤢 Cookies & Cream sometimes appropriately slightly crumbly. Too inconsistent to guarantee anything really.

Get the chocolate chip
8 January 2024

The cost of Quest products have risen astronomically over the past few years. I really only buy the chocolate chip cookies now when they are $18/12pk on Amazon. I just can't justify the prices any longer. Over $2/cookie is just insane and not worth it. If you do splurge, I recommend buying the chocolate chip and skipping the others. 1. Chocolate chip 9/10: great texture, chewy, no artificial after taste and a ton of great tasting chocolate chips. This is the clear winner due to ratio of cookie to choc chips. Spread a little peanut butter on top and thank me later. 2. Double chocolate chip 5/10: bland choc flavor, not enough chocolate chips, decent texture but underwhelming flavor 3. PB chocolate chip 6/10: very little peanut butter flavor, not enough chocolate ... MoreThe cost of Quest products have risen astronomically over the past few years. They should have left out the peanuts and added more choc chips or PB chips. 4. Peanut butter 5/10: very little peanut butter flavor, bland. Should be called peanut, not peanut butter. There is a difference; think pb mm vs pb cups. 5. Snickerdoodle 6/10: ok flavor and texture, missing something, good as a topping; crumble in protein ice cream or yogurt

Good but the peanut butter chocolate chip flavor is much better

As far as a baked desert type item, these are great option for a low carb, protein treat. It does taste like a Baked cookie and not like a protein bar These are great for grab and go travel snacks because they don't get all crumbly in the package and don't cause crumbs or sticky hands when eaten, and it's fulfilling enough to satisfy when you want a desert taste but it's late night and you want something quick. Actually the only such protein cookie I've found that does taste like a cookie and not a bar. That said, the peanut butter chocolate chip flavor is great. It's really has a cookie flavor that's more true to the peanut butter- milk chocolate taste and substance where as this one is more like a dark chocolate semi-but not really-desert with that slight bitter ... MoreAs far as a baked desert type item, these are great option for a low carb, protein treat. It's really has a cookie flavor that's more true to the peanut butter- milk chocolate taste and substance where as this one is more like a dark chocolate semi-but not really-desert with that slight bitter taste that dark chocolate has. It's not as bitter as eating dark chocolate but it's not rich sweet like milk chocolate. The other flavor had an overall sweeter Richer desert taste, making these seem kind of bland by comparison. Those had the perfect amount of balance between the peanut butter and the chocolate too - not overpowering on the peanut butter. I'll keep these but writing about that other flavor makes me want that one more now. Sigh. Lol. But I can't complain too much - it's still a decent cookie, protein or not. Tastes like eating a slightly less sweet soft baked cookie with dark chocolate chips which is pretty decent when it's without the expense of excess calories or higher blood sugar destroying nerve cells and adding to fat cells so rather pay more for this cookie than pay health costs or feeling sluggish later. Or that's how I'm trying to reframe that sugar sweet taste one can get from full sugar & fat ladened regular cookies & deserts. it's starting to work.

Good option to try variety of items
23 May 2024

I purchased this to try some new to me options for protein. First off, the hot & spicy chips are super spicy. As in, hadn't been that tongue-torched since a Nashville-hot OG sandwich I finally tried. The peanut butter cups are alright; just don't expect them to taste like Reese's cups. The birthday cake cookies are good, and I'm not usually one to gravitate towards birthday cake flavored anything. The cheese crackers taste just like Cheeze-Its to me, so probably the best likeness item in the bunch. I'd order each of the items individually, except the chips. Think I'll be using these as breading for some chicken to see if that's more manageable. A few chips are pretty hot, but trying to finish an entire bag in one sitting was a task!

My favourite quest bar. PROS + So so fulling +

My favourite quest bar. PROS + So so fulling + the lowest calorie Quest bar + avoids use of toxic ingredients other brands use + relative low fat + good fibre count + good protein count and overall good macros + packaging is discreet and compact, easy to store Cons - texture may not be ideal for some people. It is very chewy, however, this problem can be averted by popping the bar in the oven or microwave to soften it up. This actually makes it delicious and almost brownie like - very indulgent! - Small in size, considering cost and if like me you are using it as a meal replacement - Expensive! That's the only major con with this product, it is good quality but even still I feel it is overpriced. Update: Quest has changed the formula of all their bars, replacing the soluble corn fiber with polydextrose.I like the Double Chocolate Chunk Quest cookie. On the one hand, Double Chocolate Chunk is my favorite Quest bar flavor, but the cookie doesn't taste like it nor is the texture like it. Let's start with the negatives to get them out of the way. I agree with some of the reviewers that this cookie is on the dry side and isn't exactly bursting with flavor. The calories and fat are higher than a Quest bar, too. The bar has 180 calories and 7 grams of fat where the cookie has 240 calories and 16 grams of fat. And I find the bar better for bringing along as the cookie breaks into pieces when carried in my bag. But for me, there are positives, too. The chocolate chunks are awesome and protein and fiber are there. The texture is like a semi-hard cookie, not like a Quest bar, and if you use small pieces, it tastes great dipped in milk. And even though the flavor of the cookie material isn't powerful, there's something very satisfying to me about this cookie. It gives me that chocolate feeling even though the taste isn't that strong. After eating one, I feel like I've had a treat. I like 'em. They're not perfect, but they let me indulge a little while giving me the protein and fiber I look for from Quest. They're the size of a big cookie, so I'd consider each cookie to be the size of 3 or 4 normal cookies. And the bottom line is I've bought them several times and will be buying them again.

These Quest Bars are Ridiculously Good!
10 May 2024

These things taste better than most candy bars, especially the Peppermint Bark! I would feel guilty eating them, except for the fact that I only eat them when I am shy of my 200 gram daily protein goal at the end of the day. They make for a good last meal, quelling my urge to snack late at night. In addition to providing 21 grams of protein with in a 180 calorie snack with no added sugars, they include 12 grams of fiber. Very handy snack for long outdoor bike rides, canoe trips, hiking, and backpacking as well because they are nutrient dense, compact, and not easily perishable (but I don't recommend leaving in a hot car!).

Really good product. It actually does have high protein and low sugar. This is how it should be, of course, but numerous high-protein bars have more sugar than protein you might as well buy a Snickers bar or some peanut butter cups. They also taste good, the only high-protein bar or cookie I've tried that I really LIKE; it's not just a protein delivery system. I wish they were less expensive, but compared to other brands they're reasonably priced. I should probably make it clear that I am talking about this particular flavor, not the other kinds, or the brand as a whole. Altogether, it's really nice to have a dependable product for those days you really need the extra protein.
