The RAILBLAZA Rod Holder R is the baby brother of Rod Holder II. Designed to hold fishing rods with baitcaster, spinning or fly reels. The Rod Holder R is a light-duty rod holder, great for fresh water and inshore fishing but not trolling for large fish. It will fit into any RAILBLAZA mounting port. The stretchy strap at the front of the holder wraps around the top for baitcaster and fly reels and around the bottom for spinning reels, keeping your reel and rod secure. Not really suitable for my Sage fly fishing rod and reel. It sits very loosely, I had to make adjustments to ensure appropriate fitting... this rod holder was suggested to me by Marine Deal staff, but I think it’s better suited to jigging rods, although it would fit a 8-10wt rod well

I already had the Rod Holder 11 with mount, but needed a smaller holder for light rods. It was good that I could purchase it without having to get another mount. Well done Freak Sports & Railblaza.

Top section of the rod holder snapped clean off when a small kingfish took the lure. Highly recommend using a really loose drag if using this rod holder and tying your rod off to something other then the rod holder eye as the lanyard did nothing to stop my rod falling into the water.
Haven't used these yet but they look to be super functional and well made. Fit really nicely into the TracWedge that I installed in the gunwhale of my Quintrex 390 Outback Explorer.
I have other, older identical railblaza rod holders on my boat but wanted 1 more. I bought 1 rodholder, and 1 base. The older rodholders wont fit in the new base, and the new rodholder wont fit in the old base. They look identical but must be different tolerances. The new ones were made in new zealand.
Railblazer products are the most durable and easy to use products on the market. Fitting the Railblazer rod holder to existing Railblazer multi-use ports on gunnel rail was so simple, cant wait to now have 2 of these fabulous rod holders in use on our next trip!
Most new kayaks come without extras so you buy only what you need. This rod holder isnt especially cheap but it looks solid and well-made. Untested as yet but it looks capable of doing what I want.
Easy to use and strong. Works with every combo of Rod and reel. Railblaza make awesome products that makes good use of space on a small boat
works fine and is held securely in any rail blaza mount - adjustable angle and a small hole underside of the rod holder to secure a tether to if you want to play safe attach to rod/reel . nice solid feel
