I replaced my old Rainbird controller which was not WiFi compatible. Installation of the controller, WiFi module, and the App for my phone was straightforward, and all components worked the first time. No installation issues.

Replaced another brand with this one, the other brand was glitchy and would trip about half of the time when the pump tried to start up. This one works great!
This unit is easy to install and program. We thought it included WiFi when we purchased the unit but it did not. Sort of deceptive advertising. We added the WiFi and it worked very well. Now I can change run times or set a rain delay from my smartphone.

Once completed, I attempted to cycle through all the zones and test the sprinklers, which hadn't been used in several years.The controller indicated that all the zones were opened, with no feedback on issues, but no sperinkler heads popped up and no water flowed. I began to dig up the zone valve box to try to find the issue, but decided to call a local sprinkler repair guy. He figured out that the problem was that the rain sensor installed on the system ahad shorted out and wouldn't allow the main supply valve top open and feed the zones.It would have been helpful if the controller had indicated an issue with the rain sensor, which was wired to the auxillary screw on ... Very easy to replace older model. Some difficulty getting it to go thru wifi, but eventually it did work as expected.patience is the key word with set up. Directions are good, and help contacts are also very good. But wifi connecting can be a bit nerve wracking.Overall, a good item to install and have controlling a sprinkler system.
Well, there it was, my shiny new Rainbird sprinkler controller. Would I, a white, old, neanderthal deplorable (see Hillary Clinton) be able to install this thing myself & actually have it work? I did it! It works. Hurray! And, since I haven't had the Covid vaccine, I may even live to use it.
This is by far the best Controller Rain Bird ever has made. It is built better and is easier to program and install then all the other Rainbird controllers available. It looks like Rain Bird has decided to drop the model and I am very sad about that. I have installed their other controllers and I do not like them near as well as this one.

This forced me to move where I had to mount it compared to my LAST Rainbird sprinkler controller which this replaced.I often use my sprinkler system on manual. This way, I can accommodate mowing, unexpected rainfall and other things I do with my own lawn work and gardening. The instructions in the owner’s manual need to advise users AFTER selecting which section to water and the duration for watering gardens or lawns, WAIT about five to ten seconds, then press the right arrow.
