As I am still a new player, I didn't see majority of cons yet, but from time to time I encounter some silly bugs and disbalances between different characters.Overall, this game is gorgeous in its own unique way.

It's retained its realism and practicality while also bringing the series more fictitious settings, themes, weapons, gear, characters, etc. Now, it's mainly a hero-based shooter with narrative-driven seasons of content. If you like the sound of tactically driven gameplay along with everything else I mentioned, then this is a perfect game for you. Also, this title is often on sale, so make sure to look out for the right time to make the purchase.

A brutal multiplayer game that you’ll love

This game is fun, to say the least. To say the most, it’s fun, but could be better. This game is brutally hard. There is no campaign, just multiplayer. Be advised, you need a PlayStation Plus subscription to play. The multiplayer aspect can be brutally difficult at times. The game gives you a newcomer mode to play in as you begin. This mode however, has long queue times to find match. Therefore, you must play a Quick Match or Deathmatch to play and level up. These two modes are incredibly hard, as you are not playing with fellow newcomers, you are playing with veterans of this game. Be advised, I play Call of Duty frequently and still had trouble. My next problem is, that this game frequently requires updates. I like playing my games right away, not waiting for a 2 hour update. The price that I got the game for, $10, is a steal. Keep in mind, this is the Deluxe Edition, which comes with some added in game bonuses. So, for $10, I would definitely buy it. However, for $40? Not for me. So, at the time of writing, the price is $40. Unless you adore throwing money away, I would wait for the next sale, as $25 is what I would price this game at. If you are a parent looking to buy this game for your kid, don’t. Like previously stated, its hard to play. Also, this game has voice chatting with strangers. So, to summarize, 4 Stars, a brutal game, which you’ll enjoy. Needs more content though.

This new feature is a huge part of the game and is essential to being a tactical and needless to say, the primary reason why RB6 Patriots was cancelled. Not to mention, adds a level of realness that is a cut above the others, including EA/DICE titles.Tactics rule. The developers said that experience, tactics, and communication with teammates were going to be important, and that is more true than I can express. This game relies on each of those for a team to be elite and work cooperatively to achieve victories. With a group this game is insanely fun. When played enough together you learn each other's strengths and weaknesses and grow off of that to develop your own skills and share tricks of the game with each other.Sound and Communication are probably the biggest strengths Operators can have in Siege.Siege is NOT the type of game, where an Operative should go at it alone, doing their own thing or rushing through. Those types of Operatives will not last long. The team must stick together and leave NO wounded Operator behind!!! Operator’s communication, planning and execution can be the difference between the team living or being KIA.Having a good team can determine the overall outcome of your experience in Siege. If played with a team of friends, who all communicate and play the game, how it is supposed to be played, this game will be one of the BEST multiplayer experiences, ever.On the other hand, playing with randoms or players, who just do their own thing with no communication, will make this one of the worst multiplayer experiences. Working as a Team IS vital to your survival and victory, due to the nature of the game.Such as, when a teammate is down, the team should help him back on his feet to get back in the action. Leave no man behind!!The sounds of everything in the game are solid. The visuals, from wood splinters flying when a bullet sizzles through a wood wall or barricade, to the detail in overall destruction of the rest of the interior of the buildings creates new entry points or distractions to help eliminate the enemy or reach an objective. There are 20 different Operatives in Siege, which are grouped with 10 attackers and 10 defenders, representing Counter-Terrorism Units from across the globe. To name a few, there is American FBI SWAT, British SAS, French GIGN, German GSG-9, and Russian Spetsnaz. In addition, each Operative has their own fully customizable primary, secondary weapons and gadgets that their force actually uses, including a signature unique ability. With that being said, depending on the mode, each Operative should be chosen, wisely. They also have a body armor and speed rating, telling how fast they can move and how strong their body armor is. Body armor is rated from light to heavy, which shows how much the armor can take bullets, as well as certain types of explosives. On the in-game HUD, the integrity for the armor starts at 100 and can deplete, VERY rapidly, depending on how many shots it sustains.Once the armor has depleted, it makes an Operative increasingly vulnerable to gunfire, meaning an increased likeliness being KIA. With that being said, there is no revitalization of health, nor body armor. In some instances, an Operative may take a certain amount of bullets and become injured. There will be a health insignia above them. Meanwhile, the injured Operative's health level will rapidly decrease. When this happens, the injured Operative can hold the square button to slow down the bleeding and drag themselves to cover, which can allow time for a nearby teammate to heal him. If not healed in time, the Operative will be KIA. Once an Operator is healed by a teammate, this process cannot be repeated. The next time an Operator is downed by gunfire he is down for good. In addition, if the operator initially takes too many rounds at once, he will be instantly KIA. When and if an Operative is KIA, a skull and cross-bone icon will appear. In a round, once the Operator is KIA, there is no re-spawning. Therefore, making survival more essential. The terrorists group introduced on Siege are called the White Masks. Their motivation for their deadly ways are unknown, but these group of terrorists are no joke and provide some very challenging AI, especially on realistic mode. The graphics are above average for a PS4 game. The Realblast engine and physics in Siege is amazing. The sound in Siege is awesome. The game is equipped with STS surround sound, which can be enhanced with the use of a mic. This game does have a single-player mode, but NOT a campaign. The single-player mode is called Situations, which is played solo.Situations is a mission-based training mode to familiarize players with the game play of Siege, as well as Operators.Situations has 11 different missions. Keep in mind, the first three Situations will have to be completed, as a recruit Operator. The last eight will be played as a primary Operator. Each mission will be for a specific Operator. Prior to each mission, a cut-scene will come up and the Operator will be briefed of the objectives they must complete by Six, who is the leader of the Operatives and played by Angela Basset. Each mission has various primary objectives that the Operator has to complete, such as disarming a bomb or rescuing a hostage. During those missions, the Operator will be presented with various scenarios, where the Operator will be prompted to use their unique ability, among everything else. Outside of primary objective, three optional objectives are in each mission, such as finishing a Situation with 50% health or getting a certain amount of head shots, just to name a few. Of course, achieving these in a harder difficulty will result in additional Renown points. The game in my opinion is solid if you payed attention to what the developers said it was going to be, an online coop/competitive, tactical driven game.To my rating, I gave this game 4 stars because I was disappointed that their was no campaign or solo mission story. Otherwise, this game is a solid, modern, tactical, communication-oriented, multiplayer focused shooter game with free content coming out for the next year. This game does not deserve low ratings or perfect ratings. It has its quirks but is overall a fun game. It is difficult, but once you get the hang of it, it's fun. So make some friends in game and hunt some terrorists!

Great fun for those that like a tactical shooter
26 September 2016

I would recommend the season pass for this game also as it unlocks all of the post-launch operators. The game is great fun for cooperative terrorist hunts which have you both assaulting and defending in various scenarios. The adversarial multiplayer works pretty much the same way, just substituting a human team as your opposition instead of AI. The game lets you use real world breaching tactics, drone recon, deployable barricades and shields, etc. and the gameplay is very tactical vs. just run and gun like most modern shooters. When you lose health you do not recover it and the amount of damage you can take is dependent upon the armor rating of the character. Each operator brings something unique to the game and its fun to experiment with different combinations on a team to see what can be accomplished. My only complaint about the game is that Rainbow Six has traditionally had a single player campaign, and while this installment served as a complete overhaul to the game, the lack of a single player campaign was noticeable to long time fans of the series like myself. It's not a deal breaker by any means, the game excels at what it offers, however it would be nice to see a full scale campaign on future titles in this vein.

Honestly the bestgame of this current generation of consoles. I shared the same opinion with some of the reviews here; portraying their difficulties with the tuning of vehicles and lack of understanding control of their vehicles. Put this game down and revisited it maybe ~1 year later and enjoyed the game so much to the point where this is the game I play most of the time. the visuals in this game are OUT OF THIS world for a game made in 2015. Most exciting competitive multiplayer shooter since Counter-Strike

Rainbow Six Siege is ALL ABOUT COMPETITIVE MULTIPLAYER and it facilitates some of the most exciting and strategically deep PvP gunfights in recent games. NPCs only exist in the Terrorist Hunt mode which matches you with other players against bigger groups of hostiles. The absence of local coop (split screen) for this mode is another step away from the series' legacy. There is also no 3rd person view and no cover system here. All gameplay features aim to optimize fair and engaging multiplayer matches. The game VISUALS ARE GREAT without compromising the framerate. Siege has the best, most accurate weapon models I have seen. The character designs are fantastic, though they look a lot better in the menus than in actual gameplay. You rarely get a chance to examine other players up-close, but still it can be a little disappointing. SOUNDS IS A BIG PART OF THE GAME. You would want a headset for this one. All footsteps, gunfire, equipment items, breakable objects and voices are so specific and recognizable that listening is often more important than observing. The sounds are excellent and the music is good and unobtrusive, borrowing elements from Blacklists score. All DLC IS FREE. Its a very good move on Ubis side that all additional content is available to all players at no extra cost. Typically there are 2 new characters and a new map added with each of the 4 planned DLCs. Season pass holders do get one week early access to them, and spend no ingame currency to unlock the new operators, but in no way is a season pass required for any part of the experience purchasing one is more of support gesture to the game. Game ECONOMY IS SURPRISINGLY FLAT. All operators and weapon attachments are easily unlocked early on by new players. Customization is all thats left to earn and spend for. Weapon skin, slightly different head gear, weapon charms not very rewarding stuff, but at least it is something to keep you playing and getting Renown points. This unimportant currency also affects the value of daily challenges. In its first months the game did suffer some matchmaking and server ISSUES. Now that they are mostly overcome its worst and inevitable problem is impatient gameplay. In recent weeks the matches are filled players that would rush into a direct gunfight to getfrags or die trying, which then causes them to leave rather than wait for the next round. Run and gun players have a very negative impact as they negate the most valuable elements of the game - strategy and suspense. Uneven teams playing (sometimes 1v5) for the rest of the match is an often sight. RAINBOW SIX SIEGE VERY ENJOYABLE if you have the right expectation. It is not a game packed with content nor ticking all the boxes. Its focused on a specific experience. Siege gives you the opportunity to play from your couch and feel like you are in a PvP 5v5 FPS tournament outsmarting the opposition is that important, and winning feels that much better.

Should have done more research before purchasing

It's by far the most advanced first-person shooter I've ever played, but that being said, I haven't really even played another first-person shooter on current-generation console, so I'm not really qualified to compare, because XBOX 360 and PS3 were the last consoles I bought a game of this genre for. I actually came across this videogame by accident somehow, and I thought it was cool that you could shoot THROUGH certain surfaces and break out barriers. The trouble, though, is that I am apparently so old that I didn't realize that games occasionally don't come with a single-player story mode anymore. This game has no story mode. All it has is "situations" which are basically just like an active training/orientation. What I *can* say, though, is that if I had known about the lack of story mode, I would not have spent this kind of money on a game.
