What I think overall in 1 sentence: this isn’t a unique fragrance. But that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I’d wear this scent in the late afternoon or evening, during the late summer (July/Aug) into winter. The lavender really holds the stage for the fragrance, it sustains well throughout the middle and base notes. The vetiver pairs well with the dry down from cedarwood and sage to make a palatable masculine fragrance with a balance of softness and rawness. This is actually a scent I would be obsessed with. It fits right into the my collection of old favorites: Polo Red, Versace Eros, and CH Men Privé. “Ralph’s Club” maintains a sweetness by allowing the sage and lavender to wholly replace any fruits unlike my old favorites which had each had two or more. The dark Ralph’s club bottle design is great, featuring monochromatic detailing and sturdy hardware, the glass portion is tinted but transparent enough where the remaining fluid level is visible, unlike some past Ralph Lauren bottle designs. This bottle is reminiscent of Carolina Herrera’s “CH Men Privé” cologne. The carbon fiber packaging is a nice detail but doesn’t add much IMO. I do like the carton and I haven’t tossed it tossed it yet. It might look great on someone’s dresser or vanity, but the bottle itself is more eye catching worthy of display. “Ralphs Club” its flask inspired bottle would be an appreciated new classic added to any groomers’ collection. TLDR: A great commercial scent that is going to sell like many notable scents engineered in the past. “Ralph’s Club” is the newest fragrance that fits perfectly with the “Polo Red”, “Versace Eros”, “CH Men Privé” family. All 4 are great fragrances that share distinct qualities which makes them liked favorited world-wide.

The hints in this formula are as follows: * Top Notes: Lavandin and Clary Sage * Middle Notes: Virginia Cedarwood * Bottom Notes: Vetiver We found that the cedar wood was what was smelled the most, but all of these components create a perfect combination of a sexy masculine scent. Admittedly, the first sniff was a bit strong but after a few minutes it really creates the perfect and unique aroma. The woodsy/musky tones really balance it out and give just the sweetest masculine fragrance. Lastly, we have the ingredients. Ralph Lauren claims they are ethically sourced. This is a huge plus, knowing you are not giving money to unethical products! Just a dab on your neck and wrists will have you smelling fresh all day and night. Prepare for compliments from just about anybody, because this all-around perfect cologne will have every nose sniffing you out. All in all, from the packaging to the different notes, Ralph’s Club by Ralph Lauren is an amazing cologne and will definitely be a new staple for me.

I hope Ralph Lauren will make adjustments, because the lavender is an attention grabber. The aromatic aroma is so well done. Unfortunately like the Greek gift horse, it becomes unraveled. On a positive note this is a four season cologne, although more sprays will be needed in the winter. Projection is a foot for an hour, and then it becomes a minimalist skin scent. This is extremely disappointing. I love the scent, but I don’t feel like bringing the bottle with me everywhere. That is a major inconvenience. Please Ralph’s folks, if you read this, it’s my dream that you reformulate this. It’s an opinion, but this is your best cologne yet for what it smells like. Yet it won’t be sustainable if men, find it to be underwhelming after application. I love lavender, and woody notes add sophistication and allure to any cologne. There’s no sillage trail. You can’t expect to stand, unless that is delivered as you walk down club spots or a office hallway. The point of a cologne, is it’s a man’s way of showing their existence. To gain a woman’s attention, at least until we say something screwed up. In all seriousness I hope this one can be saved. You can tell that the people behind this fragrance delivered a high quality scent. Use that passion to make this one the king of swing. This is available everywhere, and the bottle is elegant with its black square shape. No complaints about the atomizer either. My advice is to hold and see what Ralph Lauren does, because this has the potential to be top tier, but it needs to have strength added to it first.

An Unforgettable Scent

This cologne promises the night of your life in a bottle and it surely doesn’t disappoint. A layered and complex smell, it certainly is intense but what might be even better is the refreshing and clean after-notes. The hints of cardamom and lavandin truly create a pleasing and altogether unforgettable fragrance. The packaging feels luxe with it’s sleek black box and silver monogram. The bottle itself is heavy and the way the top opens, staying connected to the bottle looks incredible and means it will never get lost. My husband has been looking for a new scent forever and this has instantly become a favorite. It smells clean when first applied and wears well, the scent lasting well into the night. This is definitely one to splurge on and stands apart on the shelf.

Here are my thoughts: 1) the fragrance is strong, but in a good way. One spray is all you need, but the smell isn't overpowering. It is a parfum, so it last quite a while, too. Just be sure to spray in moderation. 2) I smelled more of the base notes than the top notes. The literature claims Lavender is the top note with some fruit notes added. After the test strip, I proceeded to try this several times on skin. Overall, I was highly disappointed in this release. The fragrance wasnt much different on my skin as compared to the test strip. Also, it fades remarkably fast, becoming a skin scent after an hour of wear and almost completely gone after two hours. I was worried I was becoming anosmic to the fragrance, but it was undetectable by friends and family after that 23 hour mark. Based on its weak performance and silage, coupled with its rather boring and linear progression, I would not recommend this fragrance. If you are a fan of crowd pleasing designer fragrances, I would spend your 110 on something like Versace Dylan Blue, Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gio Profumo, Bleu De Chanel EDP, or Dior Sauvage EDT. All of those have vastly better performance and are all massive compliment getters of the designer world.
