Good Dictionary

It is easy to use and does the job. You can look up either the Japanese word or the English word to get the respective translation.

Great value for a foreign dictionary

It is good that this particular dictionary has Japanese-English and English-Japanese. It is very useful for me. Very satisfied with this product.

Has romaji as well as kanji. Doesn't skimp on content. Highly recommend.

I bought this dictionary as a replacement dictionary for a friend. I wanted to find a dictionary that had, not only romaji (the Japanese text transliterated into English characters) but kana (ordinary written Japanese) as well. Strangely enough, most only have romaji. Additionally, many portable dictionaries this size omit important words that are used in everyday speech; this does not. Overall it is a high-quality book and contains the kana/kanji in addition to readings in romaji. Highly recommend.

Strongly recommend for beginners

This dictionary makes life very easy for beginners. The Japanese to English translations are in Romanji alphabetical order so very quick to look up when you're not totally familiar with the usual hiragana order. The text is not microscopic as tends to be a problem with dictionaries that try to jam in the pronunciation furigana (hiragana of kanji in tiny font above the kanji). Doesn't have individual word hiragana pronunciation or writings (only kanji where thus exists), but this isn't a big issue as everything has the Romanji spelling/pronunciations. So in summary, a fair bit of clear and readable English and Romanji, with the minimum Kana & Kanji, but great to keep on hand for translating unknown words.
