Great Fit and feel. The cushion is sufficient so no complaints there. The material is soft and stretchy and the grips really do a good job of staying put. I only have about 100 miles of saddle time in these but so far they have survived 2 washes. I just treat them as delicate garments and gentle wash with hang dry only. You can often catch these on sale but $130 for a solid set of bibs is good value.

Just like all other reviews these bibs run small. Although I usually up-size my bibs from medium to large simply for comfort, I should have heeded the advice from others and chose an XLg bib. But, I did not and and chose size large and they fit me but snuggly. I'm sticking with them for when I need the extra compression. I find the fabric isn't as porous as I prefer but they should be fine during cooler weather rides. These will not be my preference during hot or humid weather conditions. Overall, they seem well constructed with comfortable seams, straps, and chamois pad.

My first Rapha shorts. Decided to give them a try because they were on sale and I heard good things about the pad and short. These bibs are very good for the money. I really like the pad. Foam in all the right places and like the soft fabric against the skin down there. Material of short is nice. Would prefer it a little lighter and less compressive. Wore them on a warmish day and they were a little warmer than I like. Fit is good. I bought a medium. Maybe I could have gone up to a Large but then they would have been too long. I am 5' 9" 175. Overall I recommend these.

So far I am pleased with these bibs with one caveat. Sizing, which is paramount in cycling bibs; I’m 5’8”, 30” inseam and a 31” waist, 170lbs. With my dimensions and thighs and a rear end of middle of the road proportions (not skinny and not big) these size mediums fit great. I’ve been cycling for 20 years and have owned bibs from 3 other big name brands in their mid-upper tiers and these bibs are on par with them. The legs on these bibs sit a couple inches above the knee, the straps are adequate in length (definitely not to short as others mentioned), the materials feel and look premium, plenty snug all the way around which lends them to staying in place. The chamois is a little thicker than what I have been used to but honestly can’t really tell a difference once ... MoreSo far I am pleased with these bibs with one caveat. The chamois is a little thicker than what I have been used to but honestly can’t really tell a difference once I’m wearing them. I only have about 150 miles on them as of yet but am completely satisfied and will definitely buy several more if the quality holds up. I’m guessing so because they do look and feel of a quality build. The only caveat: the chamois has a crease that runs from front to back down the centerline, unlike I’ve experienced before, it folds along that line and ever so slightly wedges between each cheek and now have abrasion/friction hot spot there instead of at the sit bones. Ugh, and does that spot ever hurt. I’ve really contemplated whether to size up or size down and keep coming to the conclusion that they fit great. Good luck, you’ll be happy with these. Price point is very good.
Not to dismiss fit problems folks had, ever body is different. But it occurred to me Rapha’s choice and placement of elasticity and cut of materials is specific to a cycling position. That is, I had a similar criticism of long hems and short straps - until I got into a cycling position. On the bike, the strap length is very comfortable, as my torso is surged an shorter than standing. Likewise, the hem length seems long standing in a dressing room, but in a cycling position is perfect. So, just something to consider, the dressing room fit might be uncomfortable, but riding fit could be fine for you! Try sitting on the bench (or chair at home) with your shoulders forward and elbows on your knees.
I’m 5’11”, 190lbs and wear a medium bib. These bibs have a comfortable chamois and shorts, but suspenders are a little short for my torso length and do not stretch enough for longer ride comfort. I also have a chest, so the suspenders prefer to slide to the outside and bunch up in my shoulder joint. It would be better if the strap was positioned further inboard so they don’t drift out. Borah Pro fit well and the suspender straps stretch more so I can ride in them for over 4 hours no problem.
The materials feel great against the skin and the fit is pretty good. However, my experience with the chamois is subpar. I rode 20 miles and began to develop tenderness in the saddle area. I've had better experience with The BlackBibs brand bib shorts chamois. Especially the ultimate style. I think this has to do with the two part nature of the chamois for the Rapha bibs. For those with narrower sit bones, this may not allow sufficient coverage with the chamois. Additionally, the general price is far too expensive for what you are getting. I would only purchase when good sales are going on and only if my sit bones were a bit wider. Return policy is good so you can size and order online without concern. Rapha changed their sizing and chamois and didn't seem to update anyone or their site. Very annoying. Last year I e-mailed them regarding what sizes I should be getting, I took their advice and the bibs (same line/model) in medium fit fantastic. They still do, they're my favorite pair of bibs. So this year I ordered the same thing in black and I ordered some winter bibs as well. Both ordered in the same size as last year. These are SIGNIFICANTLY smaller. I can just barely make them work.Additionally the chamois are a bit different. I'm not sure if this is good our bad due to the sizing difference of the bibs in general. Pro: I studied hard or bought and tried every set of bib shorts priced from 35 to $170 over the last year and I have determined that Rapha is the only, I mean only, brand in that price range that currently makes a chamois that actually reaches the sit bones and is dense enough for rides between 20 and 175 miles.Cons: My pair needs to be retired after 11 months; this product is not durable. I've had much cheaper shorts that have lasted thousands more miles.Every other time I look at REI, the price of this product has increased. They are tight in the front; there is too much padding or it is not quite in the right place. They also look very strange in the front, such that you will overhear people commenting when you are off the bike.
Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase of these cycling bib shorts. The design is stylish and eye-catching, and the quality seems to be decent. The chamois pad is comfortable, and the bib straps stay in place even during long rides. One thing to note is that these shorts run a bit tight. If you're between sizes, I recommend sizing up for a more comfortable fit. Despite the tightness, they do a great job of keeping you dry and cool during intense rides.
