It's a good charger for raspberry pis and phones, but it's a terrible experience on the other end (the non-usb c side) of the charger.Who thought it was a good idea to put a circle along the base of the charger, so you can cause a literal fire by plugging it in next to other plugs? I've used this for around 2 years, and have always come across this issue. You can't plug it in with ANY other plugs, no matter how big or small. Let's take the standard double vertical power socket for example. Try putting it on the bottom with another plug at the top, nope, the prongs are showing, the top, prongs are still showing. Okay, so now a power board - because of this circle, you can't use this on any side of a plug. I'm sick of these designs, especially for low-power devices/plugs like this. It's not even like that extra plastic is used, it's only a mm high, so there aren't actually any wires in it or anything, it's just to annoy you I guess. Also, you can't just unplug the USB C part and use that, because they thought it was a good idea to connect it to the plug, so you can't salvage anything from the plug. The only pro is that it's a decently high-quality USB-C cable for the price.

This product is designed for Australia, New Zealand, and China. It plugs in upside-down, so the Raspberry Pi logo is upside-down and the USB-C cable exits from the top. Also, there is a thin circle of plastic moulded around the edge which prevents you plugging it in to a socket or power board if there is something in the adjacent socket.Very disappointed that a product designed these days should be so deficient.

I've used a lot of plug-in power supplies in my time and this one comes out pretty near the top. Solid build and a decent connector. The cable looks like it's properly rated and the strain reliefs at either end should do their job as long as you don't punish it too hard.I have tested this at its maximum rating and although it does get warm after running for a while it wasn't hot enough to cause me concern about leaving it on 24/7.Fits next to the other 13A plugs and adapters in my multiway outlet too.

Always buy the original PSU! I recently bought a PI4 and a "5amp Pi4 psu" from amazon. I was getting constant undervolt warnings (I was powering the pi4 + ssd via the new retroflag case), I paid £2 more for the offical PSU which arrived in a day from Pimoroni, all undervolt problems solved. Ill say it again - always buy the official PSU if you want a trouble free Pi time. Thanks Pimoroni!

Having tried several USB-C power supplies, the only one that didn't throw up any complaints from the Pi-4 was a 60W MacBook charger - which is akin to using a sledgehammer to crack a peanut. Finally bit the bullet and bought a couple of these official power supplies and it was money well spent. Aside from being considerably cheaper than an Apple charger (by a LONG way) these do the job perfectly well and for my current Pi-4 projects they are very much fit & forget as they don't seem to run particularly hot, even after several weeks of continuous use. Top tip and my new mantra - Don't buy a Pi without a supply... Sorted!

I won't go with cheap Chinese knockoffs, especially when the real deal is so reasonably priced.Rock solid performance and no worrying about it randomly bursting into flames.Delivered promptly and well packaged.I couldn't ask for more.

This is what you need to power your Pi 4, especially if you keep getting flashing LEDs and messages about your Pi being under-powered by cheapo 2A PSUs. It does the job and is cheaper than most other PSUs with enough power. To make it perfect though it could do with having a non-captive cable so I can use a short one for projects where I don't need all that cable length flapping around.

Works well enough, but there are small potential improvements to the cable I'd like to see. First, it is not removable; and second, it is not easy to coil up tidily due to its inflexibility. That being said, it powers the Pi without a problem; so I'm really just nit-picking.

These power supplies are perfect for the Pi 4. For my Pi 4B+ (4GB) I had been using a decent power supply, but kept getting brown-outs under even small loads, both on extension cords and main sockets. Got one of these supplies and my Pi and it worked perfectly (even on ext cord). And of course, you get the build quality and good looks of the official products! Highly recommended!

It is not a bad power supply. But I do wonder if, somehow, including a power switch embedded in the cable might have been a useful addition?I hate pulling out the plug or connector to do a full reset.Quality material, decent build. Fast delivery from Pimoroni, am happy, overall.
