Good: Looks good. Keys are well spaced out. Lighting is excellently customisable. Razer's Synapse software despite a bad reputation seems easy and intuitive to use, at least for me anyway. Volume scroll wheel is convenient. Wrist rest is actually surprisingly ergonomic when I had initially dismissed it as a bit of tat (although some sort of attachments on it would still have been most ideal). Good length braided cable. Having paid £110 for a keyboard you would expect good features anyway! Neutral: At this price point there are some things that would have been nice such as USB pass through, or a detachable cable. However I won't deduct stars for missing features because they weren't advertised anyway, so this can't really be called a negative. Not so good: This ... MoreGood: Looks good. Not so good: This keyboard is very loud which is an issue for me sharing a home with others, a short time after buying I ended up getting a second quieter keyboard which I basically always use in the evening or if there's someone in the same room as me, or even in the next room sometimes. This isn't a serious issue or a defect but still annoying. I didn't know until after I got this that there was a quieter option (although it doesn't seem to be in stock anywhere). Sometimes while typing key presses will not be registered. Space bar seems to be the most common. Maybe an issue with Razer's green switches? This is quite a serious issue and the reason I have deducted two stars. Did not expect something like this with a £110 keyboard and now beginning to feel like I paid a premium price for brand over quality...

I have had a cheap mechanical keyboard for a while. I use my computer for programming, office work and gaming in roughly equal amounts and I had noticed that I had constant typos caused by my old keyboard not registering keystrokes or double registering keystrokes. This keyboard has not had any trouble performing in any of the roles I perform. It has a great clicky tactile feel, excellent responsiveness and awesome RGB features. It is quite loud, which may bother some people but is not a drawback in my situation. It's great to have confidence that the only typos I'll have to correct now are the ones cause by my less than awesome typing skills.

I am very pleased with this keyboard after two weeks of use for coding, data analysis, and document preparation associated with scientific research. It replaces my LogiTech G512 Carbon with 'linear' keys that was driving me a bit nutty for all the typos I was generating. The Black Widow with 'green' keys is much better suited to my typing style and hand geometry. The only reason I don't give 5 stars for the Black Widow is I don't care for the font or character layout. The Black Widow has numeric/symbol characters side-by-side (I prefer traditional over-under) and font is a bit sculpted (I prefer proper block lettering). In both regards, I prefer the G512...just not to the extent of tolerating all the extra typos :-) Also, the wrist-rest comes standard with the Black ... MoreI am very pleased with this keyboard after two weeks of use for coding, data analysis, and document preparation associated with scientific research. Awesome keyboard, but loud and heavy
24 April 2018

With so many PC's coming with mini keyboards now days, this is a nice and refreshing change to use a full size keyboard, so much more comfortable. You get your keys where they should be instead of looking for mystery hidden functions. The back lit keys make it easier to type if you don't like keeping all your bright lights on, which as a gamer, you know you can't have bright lights on since it messes with the screen, so a back lit keyboard is perfect for gaming purposes. The individual keys are full size keys, like older keyboards used to have, no flat laptop style keys here. Typing is precise and accurate, no sticky keys here either. The individual keys are full size keys, like older keyboards used to have, no flat laptop style keys here. Typing is precise and accurate, no sticky keys here either. I do, however, have a few concerns: When I ordered this keyboard, I had the impression that I would be able to change the color of the back lit keys to another color, but after installing the program it tells you to download, the app that changes colors doesn't respond and clicking on it gives no response at all, like a dead link. The noise you get from typing on this keyboard sounds something like a machine gun of sorts. So you can be sure that the whole house will hear your typing all night, which might disturb some light sleepers. It's actually even louder than the old style keyboards. If you live by yourself and your typing won't disturb anyone and you like the green color of the back lit keys, then this might work for you. It is a very heavy keyboard. Even older keyboards that weigh more than modern ones aren't quite as heavy as this one. So I wouldn't use it to connect with a gaming system where you have to keep the keyboard on your lap for long periods of time. It's good if you have a desk to place it on. I hope I've given useful information for people to help decide if this product is right for them.

Great Mechanical Keyboard
27 December 2022

It is a very clicky keyboard and each keypress is smooth. It has great media control features, such as a volume setter and a play/pause button. The ergonomic wrist rest is also a great feature and is very important considering the thickness of the keyboard. If you need to take up less desk space, the wrist rest isn't attached directly to the keyboard, so can remove it. Overall, a great mechanical keyboard.

Keyboard for Arthritis
14 March 2023

I got this keyboard being a Logitech fanboy. I was having really bad arthritis in my fingers from possibly brown switches. I have never had this before until I used that type of switch. Couldn’t game more then two hours. Now I can do a full day with this keyboard. I do love this keyboard the only negative I have is I had to Velcro the wrist rest to the keyboard (which still looks neat). But the two don’t lock and I normally move the keyboard a fair amount. Once I did that the keyboard is basically perfect.

Minimalistic, feels nice to type on & not as loud as other mech. keyboards
27 June 2021

I'm very happy with this keyboard. I've been using it for 2-3 months now. Before that, I've only ever used cheap chiclet keyboards or laptop keyboards. I found this keyboard through doing a lot of Research & YouTube videos. I was looking for a quiet, reliable, numpad-less, mechanical keyboard with unintrusive design. +Minimalistic simple design (no unnecessary bezels & doesn't scream Gaming, no NumPad) +Durable (feels sturdy & strong, does not feel cheap) +Typing experience +Sound (It's quieter than many other mechanical keyboards, especially when you put on the O-rings) +Media functions on F1-F12 +LED Brightness controllable directly on keyboard (No need for software) +LEDs can get very bright +/-Only Warm-White LEDs, No RGB

Not worth it for the price
6 April 2022

I've owned this keyboard for 1 year and it's horrible. There is way too much stem wobble, and it is overpriced. The gmmk 2 is cheaper (not avalable at jbhifi but avalable at other retailers) and it's way better. Fully modable (hotswap and support for screw in stabilizers, comes with a decent linear switch (but you should replace it with a better switch if you can. Sometimes when I press some keys it thinks that I'm holding it down, when it's fully up, so questionable quality control.

Solid, well built
20 March 2022

I picked this one to replace another keyboard that was a total flop and had the cheapest build quality. I haven't used a razer product for a while after having some cheap built ones in the past, but this one is SOLID. Its put razer back in a good light for me, its well build, keycaps feel good and importantly based on my last board, dont fall off. its reactive and each key press functions as you would expect with minimal latency. I really cant fault this keyboard, if you are on the edge this is a very decent choice. Personally the only faults i have with it is the lack of audio controls, it does have a play/pause button though, just no ffwd/rewind and also the numblock/capslock etc lights are un labelled which can be confusing.
