Better than the Basilisk V2, for me

I got this mouse right after owning a Basilisk V2 for 4 days, and then promptly returning the Basilisk. I must say, this is much better. The build quality is solid, even if it does feel a little "hollow". No flex at all. The coating is very grippy and the rubber side grips are alright, although I might eventually want to use grip tape on M1/M2. The clicks are light, snappy, relatively quiet, and have minimal pre and post travel, although they're not as good as the Basilisk because of the unibody shell. The scroll wheel is very smooth with a light tactility and is very quiet. The scroll click is a little heavier than I'd like though. The cable is also fairly flexible, but seemingly slightly stiffer than the Basilisk's (although I have it in a bungee now, so I don't notice). Sensor works fine, I have no complaints. The big win for the Deathadder in my books is the shape. It fills out my palm (19.5x10.5cm) slightly better than the Basilisk, and the way my thumb, ring, and pink finger fit in are amazing. Would have preferred slightly more ergo tilt, but it's still good. The grooves on M1 and M2 are very comfortable too. It also doesn't hurt that it's slightly lighter than the Basilisk. All in all, this is a fantastic mouse, and for the $69.99 sale price it's quite nice! Heaven for palm gripper!

I have not even started to explore all its features but if your ready to move up to a good starting gaming mouse this is a good choice. The quality of the cord is very good too, braided cloth and long. As I prefer a corded as my computer is close anyway and no batteries to worry about. I did not want a mouse with a number pad or to many extras so the Deathadder was a good choice Now lets see how long it lasts. Oh I bought the Deathadder V2 mini and is was a nice comfortable fit and really is about the same size as my old standard Logitech mouse that was worn out.

Great mouse... longevity=meh.
23 April 2022

I've had over 6 Razer DeathAdder mice over the past 15 years or so. Great mouse, feels good in the hand, responsive and performs as one would expect. The downside is they typically need to be replaced every 2 years if you're an avid gamer. The feet wear down to nothing and the scroll wheel usually will start to get a bit flaky. The side mouse thumb buttons have a tendency to break as well. You can do some repairs yourself but in typical anti fix fashion the phillips screws are under the glued footpads, so you have to pull them off. (why do companies do things like this?) Anyway, overall a good mouse that will treat you well for about 2-3 years.

Legendary mouse that's plagued with QC issues
19 April 2022

Intro - I am a mouse/peripheral enthusiast and have tested many mice from different brands. I purchased this DeathAdder V2 because I have always enjoyed the shape from previous versions and wanted to see how the newest wired version stacks up. I ended up having to return this mouse 3 times! I will go over the various categories first and lastly I will talk about the QC. Shape/Weight - I use relax claw and have 18.5x9 hands now despite this being a larger mouse I was actually able to get a comfortable grip for claw and especially palm. This is definitely a mouse suited for those who prefer palm grip though, so I'd look elsewhere if you claw grip. Weight is 82g and while not being one of the lightest on the market its still a good weight that most should be happy ... MoreIntro - I am a mouse/peripheral enthusiast and have tested many mice from different brands. Weight is 82g and while not being one of the lightest on the market its still a good weight that most should be happy with. 7.5/10 Sensor - This uses a Razer Focus+ sensor (PMW 3399) and its one of the best sensors on the market. It performs like a champ with absolutely no issues at all. Calibration can be a little weird with mousepads if you decide to get into that, I'd advise just leaving it on stock. 9/10 Buttons - I am not a fan of the main M1/M2 buttons. The Razer Optical Switches that are used feel mushy almost like I'm not pressing anything at times. The rest of the buttons are really good though especially the side buttons which feel very tactile and easy to find. Scroll wheel is great too with nicely defined steps and the sound is consistent. 6/10 Cable - It's an average paracord-like cable. Flexible and much better than any rubber cable you will find. You can put this in a bungee and basically forget about it. 8/10 Feet - The feet are great and glide smoothly with no inconsistency. They come very close to 3rd party offerings. 8.5/10 QC - Here is why I can't recommend this mouse. All 3 of my copies had bad QC which had to do with the main mouse buttons. First copy had creaking on the left mouse button, the second copy had it on the right, and while the third copy was better the buttons still felt inconsistent which was a issue on all copies. Software - Razer Synapse is alright. Has its issues which is to be expected, but it doesn't ruin the mouse. You can control the DPI and lightning with it. Value - Often on sale it's a good pickup if it didn't have so many QC issues.

My overall favorite mouse of all time
1 July 2021

I have bought this mouse probably five or seven times over the last 10 or 12 years. This isn't because it has broken on me that many times. It's because I would buy one for home...then for work...then I had a dedicated gaming machine...then a couple of laptops... The mouse is simply that good - it works well for me, it is very comfortable, and it is just a great overall performer. That is what keeps me coming back. For what it is worth, the DeathAdder has changed several times in the last 12 years. I have upgraded a couple of times when the performance seems like it will be better, but usually it's because I just don't like other mice as much. As an example, I was using a SteelSeries mouse (since I like to match my mouse with my keyboard). But I finally got tired of ... MoreI have bought this mouse probably five or seven times over the last 10 or 12 years. This isn't because it has broken on me that many times. I imagine I'll keep buying DeathAdders until Razer discontinues it, at which point I will buy old stock until that is out, then maybe find them online, etc. My overall favorite mouse.

My review on the Razer DeathAdder V2
27 January 2023

So, my first impressions on this gaming mouse. It's pretty good, but I realized this mouse is designed for claw and fingertip grip styles. So, kind of a bummer for me because I personally mainly use a palm grip. Other than that it's great! Lots of options for the RGB, the sensor is really good. However the Optical-Mechanical switches feel very mushy. So, I think it's a good mouse, but a few things that I don't like. The plastic does feel kind of rough too. But, it's really meant to be a mouse to be really competitive with it.

Not worth it at all
19 November 2022

Deathadder V2, mouse quality seems very poor. Plastics feel cheaper than my last $20 mouse. Doesnt work in bios. It can't save lighting settings to mouse even though it has memory so synapse required running in background, that is razer way of forcing you to install Synapse and agree to their EULA terms which gives them access to everything you do on your pc, yes everything just to use a mouse. So to sum it all up, cheap quality, doesnt work in bios, cant save RGB settings, Synapse required. Going back to steel series, never had any of these problems with a cheaper mouse.

The Razer DeathAdder V2 is an absolute game-changer! As soon as I plugged it in, I could feel the difference in my gameplay. The optical sensor is incredibly precise and responsive, making it easy to hit those difficult shots in first-person shooters. The scroll wheel has a satisfyingly smooth feel and the buttons have a satisfying click when pressed. But it's not just the performance that impressed me - the design is top-notch as well. The ergonomic shape fits perfectly in my hand and the matte finish on the sides provides a secure grip. The Chroma lighting adds an extra touch of style and can be customized to match the rest of my setup. Overall, the Razer DeathAdder V2 is an excellent choice for any gamer. Razer Perfection - 14 years in the making.
21 June 2021

The Razer DeathAdder has been around since 2006, and I remember adopting this mouse as my main driver for desktop computing and usage. I have had about 4 versions of this mouse and this one is by far the most refined and best feeling to use. It is lighter than any previous version and it just feels like quality. This combination makes it weird to use for those used to heavier mice due to the fact that it feels durable and so light. It is snappy and the software does a decent job and customizing it. The grips on the side definitely feel firm and don't feel like they're going to come lose or fall off. I also welcome the matte finish on the mouse as opposed to a glossy texture. With all those positives, the only negative I can think of is the fact that it is still a wired mouse. I know there is a wireless option for this mouse, but it's double the price. While I love quality, I'm also cheap, so I'll keep using the wired version. I've used this mouse for the past 13-14 years and I have always, and still love it. Get it already!
