The condenser capsule delivers crisp and clear audio, capturing every nuance of my voice without any lag or crackling. Whether I'm talking to friends in game chat, or using it for work on a virtual meeting, the Seiren V3 ensures that my voice comes through loud and clear. I did a personal comparison between my gaming headset built-in microphone, the built-in laptop mic and the Serien, and all my teammates and co-works raved at just how much better I sounded when using the Serien V3 versus my headset or my laptop mic. My personal favorite feature of this microphone is the touch sensitive mute button on the top of the mic. When you press the mute button it changes the RGB color of the mic to all red, indicating that your mic is indeed muted. This is huge for me when I’m on a work video call and I need to mute my mic and I can visually see that it is muted and have that peace of mind that I won't accidentally say something. You can also Control the mic volume with the dial button on the front and it will change colors from green to red, with green being the highest percentage and red being the lowest volume.I also appreciate the convenience of the Seiren V3. Setting it up was a breeze thanks to its plug-and-play USB connectivity and it immediately works once you select it in the windows settings and in apps like Discord, Zoom or Teams when you are wanting to use the microphone. It’s nice to visually be able to see that your mic is muted.It is a super cardioid condenser microphone which basically means it is designed to record what is right in front of it and block out a lot of the background noise that is behind it or off to the side. For recording I use Adobe Audition. I found the microphone to do a good job of blocking out a lot of background sounds. It wont completely cut them out, but it will drastically reduce them. As far as the recording sound quality. I found it to be pretty good. I have a very deep and bassy voice and I found that this picked it up pretty well. I had to do a little EQ to bring out some of the low end, but overall, it sounded really good. If you are looking to use this for gaming, or recording podcasts and things like that, it will work out very well for you.One thing I wish this had was a windscreen, because I did notice lots of pops if I wasn’t speaking into the mic at the right angle. I do realize that would kind of defeat the whole color thing because that would be covered up, but at the end of the day it’s a microphone and should be able to record the best sound possible with the light show being an afterthought.Overall, for general use this microphone will work great for most people. In a professional setting, not so much. Definitely check it out though if you are looking for a good basic microphone for your computer.

Yes, it looks very cool, but about functionality and how does it perform?The microphone is plug-and-play, so just connecting to any PC’s USB-A port will make it work. It also serves as an RGB mode selector and gain-limiter signal (for peeking). There is a 3.5mm jack in the back for a headphone monitor and the volume is controlled via the knob in the front by default but can be switched to gain by long pressing the mute button.But where the functionality and performance increases are with Razer’s Synapse software, which I would highly recommend installing. While I would admit that the software is not as intuitive as I would like, it does provide a robust amount of customization. There, you can tweak gain, tone, stream volume, bit rates, and of course Chroma RGB modes.For the suggested retail price, I am quite impressed. The mic is well built, the RGB is nicely implemented, and it can be quite portable by removing the bottom, making it a very versatile microphone.

The front of the microphone (directly above the multi-function adjustment knob) is where users should speak for best sound quality since that is the spot where the condenser element is located.Of note: if you have a noisy keyboard or type strongly, the mic will pick up those sounds as you type; move it about to minimize that since the sound pick-up pattern is approximately 16-20 inches from the front vertical barrel of the mic itself.The desk stand has a grippy bottom, so it stays put. The cable is replaceable with a shorter one if you wish as long as it has USB-A to USB-C connectors on each end.Of note: the threaded mic stand fitting will allow removing the mic to attach it to a boom with a ⅝” male to ⅜” female thread screw adapter (not included) which is specified in the included instruction sheet.I used it as is on my desk since I don't have a mic boom (yet).I appreciated the instant tap once feature to mute as well as the ability to change the RGB colors by turning the front knob, tapping 2 times on top also starts a RGB color change option.In use, the test calls, internet voice sessions and other tests all produced reports that the sound was detailed, deep and of high quality and easily was much better than laptop microphones and those in Bluetooth speakers with built in speakerphone functions.The rear of the mic is where the cable is plugged in with the USB C end and where a ⅜” analog headphone port is available to plug in headphones for monitoring while in use.Note: in Windows, select this mic as the audio output if you are intending to use the mic’s rear port for headphones.RAZOR makes available a free full featured utility program called Razor Synapse which adds many functions to both audio control as well as adjusting the RGB color functions on this microphone as well as all other RAZOR RGB products.A section called Chroma Studio has a multitude of adjustment settings for the lighting; another section has many options for the audio quality and levels.The V3 has built in digital gain limiting and built-in shock absorbing to eliminate overly loud distorted audio and loud noises heard by listeners on the other end. The control knob on the front allows adjusting the mic gain for achieving a good broadcast sound while in use.Highly recommended !

This is possibly my favorite feature of the unicorn rainbow vomit capable 'Chroma' features the Seiren V3 has. My second is the audio monitor that makes it glow from green/yellow/red as your speaking into it indicating peaks and helping you keep your pitch/tone/volume in check so the recording stays clear for those listening.That Mute toggle on top can also be set to do a few other things. A long press will change the function of the knob on front between adjusting the mic volume, or adjusting the headphone out volume for those that use a pair of headphones to monitor your mic. Double and triple tapping the button both can be set to different toggles. Changing the chroma pattern, turning on advanced gain controls, toggling chroma effects on and off entirely etc.I'm extremely happy with the quality of the mic overall, it's build is a soft touch plastic keeping it pretty light with most of the weight in the included base. The lighting effects are bright and colorful, and if desired can be synced up with the rest of your Chroma enabled accessories. If you're using the quick effects in the settings, you can also toggle a setting to prevent other apps and games from controlling the lighting of the mic which is nice when you have it set to light up in response to sound.As a bonus, I tested the Mic out plugged into my iPad, and while obviously you lose the customizations in Synapse, it just works without any problems. So that's a nifty bonus.

You can have it change color as a visual cue that your audio levels are peaking.The yoke has both a 5/8 and 3/8 thread so you can mount it to a boom arm. I mention that because you’ll probably want to budget for a boom to get the mic up off your desk to reduce unwanted noise transfer from keyboard and mouse clicks and noises like that.I like the way I sound on this mic, I have my headphones connected to the 3.5mm port on the back of the mic. There’s plenty of adjustments through Synapse to get the levels where I want them so it’s not clipping and I sound natural. It does integrate with OBS and my other video editing software, I did have to download Synapse twice to get it to work though. The first time, my mic wasn’t automatically recognized and I was getting an error message on startup. I went to the manufacturer’s website and downloaded it again, ran the installer, and it came right up. If you can’t hear audio in the headphones make sure the cables are fully inserted, my jack was snug and it needed a little extra pressure to fully insert. In windows, make sure you have the Seiren selected as the audio out source also. It wasn’t intuitive that I needed to select a mic as a speaker but that’s what makes the headphones work when they’re plugged into the mic. “Should” switch automatically for you when you plug in though. This has been a solid upgrade to my setup and I would recommend it.

The design is slick and minimalistic with only one knob for volume, a USB-C connector and a 3.5mm jack. Note that the latter will not allow you to use the Chroma RGB function. A nice feature is the top-mounted "touch button" which can mute or un-mute the sound by a simple tap. It also offers 2 or 3 taps for other functions (2 taps is cycling the Chroma RGB settings and 3 taps to adjust the digital gain limiter). While using the USB-C to USB-A cable (included in the box), you'll be able to use the gorgeous RGB function which lights up the mesh like radioactive corn (which is very cool).The hardware and software setup is a breeze. Razer has a great and solid companion app suite (Synapse, Cortex and Axon) which allows you to configure your device with ease. Note that while it remains rather simple on the surface, you can delve deeper into the settings to tune the microphone to your personal liking. The Seiren is loaded with excellent tech such as a super-cardioid condenser capsule, a maximum sample rate of 96kHz at a 24bit depth, It also has a built-in high-pass filter to manage excess noise and a compressor function which tunes out lower volume noise. On a side note, there might be a firmware update right after installation. I would suggest you update it as soon as possible to take full advantage of your new tool.In terms of sound quality, I was very pleasantly surprised with a clear and clean sound, the built-in noise dampening works very well and allows for minimal work when adding it in to a video track. Gaming is roughly the same, all my team mates could hear and understand me better than with the mic on my headset.The Chroma RGB function can - just like all other Razer devices using this technology - be adjusted to make using this mic fun and visually appealing. It can be synced to other Razer devices as usual.To be honest, it's hard not to love the Seiren. It's solid, slick and functional. It has a good amount of functions which can be adjusted to your likings and comes with a handful of useful technologies. The only thing that might hurt is the price which might look a bit high, but it is justified by the great results it provides and the overall quality of the microphone. Excellent work, Razer!
