This product, the Wolverine V2 Chroma, is what I use when I am sitting at my desk. And it is nice! For on-the-go or as a second controller I have the vanilla Xbox bluetooth controller (with a cheap phone clip), which at $60 is the best all around value.

I came from the standard xbox series controller to the elite V2 To the thrustmaster and now finally to the v2 wolverine chroma.My thurstmaster was good but started malfunctioning as it moving, aiming and shooting when I didn't press a button and it was all plastic whereby parts of the controller would simply fall out from time to time. I traded the thrustmaster and picked up the wolverine so comfortable to hold and so sturdy and it feels durable. I would say it is a major improvement on the elite v2 controller it feels like. The only downside is my kontrol freaks that I was using for my previous controllers don't fit on the chroma thumbsticks but tbh I find the thumbsticks are so good you don't even need a kontrol freak on it. Similar to the D pad is the A, B, X, and Y buttons. You still get the mechanical click but that's pointless if the stroke feels just as long as the standard xbox controller. It's just a longer (time) commitment to push these buttons now. The strokes were very short and quick on the wolverine ultimate.Apparently input lag is really good (low) on this but unless your controller is a potato I really don't think you'll notice it that much...or if your controller just has bad wireless software/hardware.I'm not sure what they were thinking on this, I'll probably return it soon because I expect better for the price to be honest.

I use the Razer Wolverine tournament edition controller and I bought this new V2 Chroma due to my old controller having drift and the thumbstick getting stuck. The problem with the V2 Chroma is that the D-pad, thumbsticks and buttons are just too far away from each other and as a result I'm reaching across the entire controller to press buttons. For some dumb reason the start and select buttons are situated in awkward spots too. The D-pad is just so massive it feels like it takes up 90% of the controller. Nothing to do with MightyApe (they provided a good deal), it has everything to do with the Razer design team whom I assume on the day they designed this controller may have been on mushrooms sitting there looking at their hands and thinking: "Woah dude, did you ever realise that fingers are like 10cm long?" Now, another main reason why I bought this was because of the paddles. Having a jump button, a rotate or whatever I want on the back means so much. This means my thumbs stay on the thumb sticks. I never have to stop aiming to reload or bounce around a corner or use boost. This is huge!!! I personally don’t mind that they’re upright paddles (this means they don’t go off to the side but they more face directly down) and they stand off the controller meaning I can rest my fingers on them easily, however. My hands are the size of a meteors so others may be put off by this.Now let’s talk about where it dropped the points.- Software, the PC software is… ok. Nothing amazing but not something that’s impossible to use. It’s easy to adjust and create profiles but what would be amazing would be if it had some sort of sharing profiles so that I can upload a profile to the world, or simply download one.- this one is small but it matters to me, the start and select button are in really weird places, offset at a diagonal angle meaning your thumbs have to learn a new location for something they’ve becomeUsed to over years, causing you to occasionally look down meaning you’re not in the game.- no carry case, this might not seem huge especially if you’re like me and don’t take your controllers out much. But it means I have no where proper to store the additional thumb sticks. Sure I can buy a case but that’s another £25.I haven’t used the headphone slot due to my headphones being plugged into a rig, but from what I can see it’s a solid 10/10, you can control chat volume compared to game volume and overall volume but pressing a couple of buttons. That’s huge and I would 100% use it if I had too.Overall I would 100% recommend this product giving it an easy 9/10. I’ve used the Xbox elite controller and these two controllers are very close but I much prefer this one purely due to the build quality and overall feel.

Razer has done a great job with the Wolverine V2 Chroma wired controller. The controller is lightweight, has a nice texturized rubber over the grips, excellent tactile feedback on all buttons, great trigger locks, interchangeable thumb-sticks, 6 extra programmable buttons, and a killer design that looks amazing thanks to the customizable RGB strips which run down each edge framing the body of the controller.At first the extra 4 programmable buttons on the rear seem awkwardly placed. But once grip is adjusted, all four buttons are reachable and actually quite usable. I would have liked for them to be rubberized, or have more texture - but, surprisingly my fingers don’t slip off of them. The controller is lightweight, has a nice texturized rubber over the grips, excellent tactile feedback on all buttons, great trigger locks, interchangeable thumb-sticks, 6 extra programmable buttons, and a killer design that looks amazing thanks to the customizable RGB strips which run down each edge framing the body of the controller.At first the extra 4 programmable buttons on the rear seem awkwardly placed. But once grip is adjusted, all four buttons are reachable and actually quite usable. I would have liked for them to be rubberized, or have more texture - but, surprisingly my fingers don’t slip off of them. Even with small hands, I am able to rest my fingertips nicely on the extra buttons. And, because they require actual pressure to actuate, they don’t get accidentally pressed (like the paddles on the Xbox Elite Controllers often do).Interestingly, the Wolverine has two extra bumper-style buttons (which they call M1 and M2). Because most users must modify their grip to reach the back 4 paddle buttons, left & right triggers must be pulled with the very middle of the pointer fingers - this makes M1 & M2 the only reachable option and therefore almost assuredly used a replacement for the Left & Right bumpers (which can no longer be comfortably reached with trigger fingers).****See attached pictures for examples of how the controller must be gripped in order to reach all of the extra buttons****The menu and view buttons have been moved to a higher position which looks good visually, but I find it incredibly difficult to use my left thumb to press the View button. In the new location the thumb has to stretch awkwardly up and over the thumb stick to press View. It is incredibly frustrating and greatly interrupts gameplay (which is otherwise improved by adding so many other customizable buttons within immediate reach - without requiring the player to let go of the thumb-sticks).The Wolverine V2 Chroma is a wired controller that requires the use of a USB-A to USB-C cable. The included cable has plenty of length, but does not have a breakaway section that would protect your Xbox or Computer if the cable is pulled or tripped on. For me this is a HUGE downside. Wired controllers should ALWAYS feature a breakaway cable.I am also disappointed that the Wolverine does not come with a case like both version 1 and version 2 of the Xbox Elite Controller. The Wolverine comes with two extra thumb-sticks that will certainly get lost because there is no case to store them in. This is an expensive controller. It would be nice to be able to protect it while being carried in a backpack.The Wolverine V2 Chroma is a great controller, but until the price drops by a decent margin, I just can’t recommend it over the Xbox Elite 2. For just an additional $30, the Elite V2has wireless Bluetooth functionality, better paddle & button layout, 6 thumbstick options, two d-pad options, a rechargeable battery, and a carrying case that holds all accessories and doubles as a battery charger.

It was the Wolverine v2 and I’m actually very surprised at how much I like this over my old Tournament Wolverine. For starters, compared to that controller, the ABXY button press requires more travel but it hasn’t affected gameplay for me. What I really like that was improved upon is the build quality. It feels so much more sturdy and the buttons don’t feel as brittle, although I’m sure that will change with time. Honestly, if you’re like me and play just about daily and are competitive in FPS, you probably won’t get much more than a year and some change out of even the newest generations of controllers - I’m pretty tough on the buttons to be honest. But I feel like, barring any accidents like dropping it or spilling something on it, that I will get another 1-2 years out of this controller. The upgraded design seems ugly and like it will be uncomfortable but my big hands are just as comfortable and I actually feel like I have more consistent control over my analog stick inputs. Really happy with the V2 - although it’s not for all folks I’m sure. In the end, if you came from the Wolverine Tournament/Ultimate (and even used the Wildcat from back in the day like me) you will enjoy this controller. My only gripe may be the D-pad being a bit out of place/requiring more reach to use, but is something I’m getting used to. I highly recommend this controller for its price and quality over the Elite 2. Also, invest in the Best Buy protection plan so you can just swap it out in a year or so and restart with a crispy controller without putting down another $130+. Another note, if you’re on PC like me, don’t download any razer software - it’s garbage and I’ve have multiple experiences of it messing with my computer. And actually it’s unnecessary for this controller, as button mapping and settings are accessed through the Microsoft store Razer controller app, which is much better.

It allows a lot of control over the Chroma lighting on the controller. The app allows customization of the extra triggers and buttons, allowing customization of the controls outside of a game's own button customization options. The dedicated Audio config button, below the SHARE button, allows on the fly mixing of the levels of both in game volume and chat volumes, individually. I like the feel of the controller, the thing that took the most to get use to was the position of the menu buttons to the left and right of the home button. I was initially skeptical that the magnetic thumbstick hats would be secure enough, but they have never accidentally came off. The ability to switch to a taller hat on one thumbstick is nice, that and being able to switch one thumbstick between concave and convex on a controller is nice. I keep the nice box the controller came in, partially to keep the not in use Hats in a safe place. The main X, Y, B, A button press feeling is different from standard xbox controllers, has a bit more resistance and a click, with a more solid feeling. The D-pad is more precise and clicky than a standard controller, also with a tiny bit more resistance, not as much as the difference in the X, Y, B, A buttons, but noticeable. The controller is of course corded only with no batteries or wireless ability. The cord is of a good length and is USB C on the controller and USB A on the other end. All in All, this is a very nice configureable controller with very nice lighting option to match up with the rest of your LED light setup on Xbox and PC. I would recommend whole heartedly.
