This game has aged very well graphically speaking. Playing this at 60 FPS on PS5 (via online title update) has been absolutely transformative. Undead nightmare is one of my all time zombies in video game experiences. Awesome to get the full package on one disc. No codes to redeem. This is a great title to keep on hand.

A fantastic game in every respect - I was really surprised to see this in stock at Smyths and at a price lower than all other shops and even cheaper than i was able to find on online market places. For those who started with Red Dead Redemption II on the PS4 and were intrigued about the story that came before or for those wishing to relive the the experience from their PS3 days, this offers fun, nostalgia and great gameplay across the board. This version also comes with the Undead Nightmare expansion - something I recommend anyone who buys this game to fully explore and enjoy in all of its silliness and dark humour.

I love this game! I used to have this game on PS3 when it first came out in 2010. It’s still the best Wild West game out there. Now they have Red Dead Redemption on PS4 too and I plan on getting it! I’m a massive fan of any thing Wild West of America. In Fact, I wear cowboy hats, some jeans, and one pair of cowboy boots. I even have a blue poncho! I’m dedicated to being my own cowboy for real. Complete freedom of Wild West.

Spoiler Alert. After finally completing Red Dead Redemption I have these things to say. Other than a few glitches, there is absolutely nothing wrong with red dead redemption. For a game 10 years old the graphics, music and gameplay isn't even dated which I find amazing. We are just getting started. Red dead follows John Marston and his conquest to earn back his family from the US government, to do so he must hunt down his fellow gang members who betrayed him and left him for dead. The story starts when John is saved by Bonnie MacFarlane a local rancher, she helps John and soon John begins his epic conquest. The story starts when John is saved by Bonnie MacFarlane a local rancher, she helps John and soon John begins his epic conquest. In this amazing 10/10 story, John meets new people such as the Marshall, Seth, Irish, N.W Dickens and more, John continues to hunt down the gang members and eventually it leads him to Mexico. Mexico was a big part of the story and I was completely blown away by the music, story and gameplay there. Eventually John gets back to America and kills the last member of his gang. The ending half of Red Dead in my honest to god opinion, is the greatest video game ending half in video game history. John returns to his family and everything seems good, and spends quality time with his family, however the game makes the daring decision to kill Marston, yet somehow, they pull it off perfectly. Even for a game that is ten years old, online mode is still active and booming with fun. Hunting and shooting mechanics are flawless. The graphics for its age are again, amazing. The game excels at putting you in Johns shoes and making you feel like you are really there, in 1911. Even for a game that is ten years old, I found myself playing it more than every new game I have on my console. Rockstar games made a masterpiece, and I got it for ten dollars yet it beats games I've spent 100 dollars on. Strongly recommended for everyone. Warning you might cry.
First off, both the original game and the DLC Undead Nightmare are complete on cart, meaning no downloads required. This alone makes this copy worth it. On top of that, the port is excellent - gameplay, remastered graphics, cheat menu, etc. Playing in handheld mode and I’ve been thoroughly satisfied with the performance and visuals — crazy to be playing this huge game portably! Overall, this is absolutely worth buying and playing. Highly recommended!
One of the best games of all time, finally on a Nintendo platform! Even though this is a couple of generations old, the fact that a game that looks this good and is this large, playing on the Switch, is amazing! I've always wanted to play this on the go and now i can! The only thing bad about this, as others have pointed out, is the price. It probably should have been a $39.99 game. Or even $29.99, since this isn't really a remaster. But i was fine paying the full price since it's one of my favorite games of all time. But i can see how some people wouldn't want to pay they much for a barebones port without online play. So it's all up to you. If you've never bought it before, it's a no brainer.
This game graphics are not as sharp as the second edition, but I wanted to see what the first game was like after playing the second version and there is no comparison. However the story line kind of leads to what and why things happened in the latest game. I would recommend playing the first before playing the lastest edition of red dead.
Looks phenomenal on PS5 with 60FPS and anti-aliasing. Looks so much better than my Xbox 360 copy. Also a joy to play with a PS5 controller. It's an old game, but there's a reason it's considered such a classic. It doesn't need to be remade or remastered. For your money you get the best version of the game PLUS Undead Nightmare. Money well spent!
