These are my second pair of easy escape redbacks. My first pair didnt have the scuff cap, but this one does, and lasted me 5 years in the fire service before the sole started cracking and letting in water. These are built to last, Im confident itll last me another 4-5 years. Fitting is perfect. I wear a size 10.5-11 (US Size) normally, but these fit perfectly for me in a size 9UK. So you may want to consider going down a size or half a size of your normal shoe. Everyone is different though.

I’m a diesel mechanic and work 15+ hours a day on concrete on my feet, up and down, I also must add I have a fused ankle and never have found a boot that supports or don’t hurt my feet. With all that being said once they are broken in they are the most comfortable best wearing boot I’ve ever owned. All the other top brand boots usually only last me 3-5 months and kill my feet, knees and back. The last pair of these lasted me 4 years through the heat, oil, grease, and all other chemicals that’s in a shop. I highly recommend these boots if you are on your feet.

Very good boots! They're sturdy, steel toe, and comfortable so what more do you need. There was a mix up with the sizing because Redback is an Australian company so they sell in Australian sizes which are one size too big so that can be confusing. Galls was able to quickly correct the mix up and send me the right size.

The boot is, I'm sure, super comfortable, well built and will last a long time, depending on use. But even if you're hard on boots, it takes a lot to wear them out.The reason I say "I'm sure" is because Galls shipped me the wrong size. And they're out of my size until June. And no one answers the phone at the local store. And it took several tries and a long time explaining being put on hold just to get the answer that they are out of stock. That deserves one star. But, Galls said they would make it right, that's TBD.But I can speak with knowledge, because I own three other versions of this boot. The Puma Brown Aquapel, the Outback, and the Bobcat Claret Oil Kip (this is the exact same boot as the black one reviewed here, just a different color. The Puma Brown Aquapel, the Outback, and the Bobcat Claret Oil Kip (this is the exact same boot as the black one reviewed here, just a different color. I've had that pair 5 years- still going strong, water still beads off).Check out "Blundstone Killer" boot review online by Rose Anvil. He literally saws this boot in half so you can see how it's made. He has access to wear all kinds of boots, and he rated this one as most comfortable of all.Standing for 10 to 12 hours on indoor floors, concrete or asphalt? No problem. I've stood even longer than that with no foot fatigue and no burning feeling at the ball of your foot.Walking 8 to 10 miles a day, at times carrying a load? No issues & feet feel springy at the end of the day.Standing outside in hot sun on pavement over 100 degrees? No problem, these soles are rated to 300 degrees F.Inclement weather? No problem. Especially if you treat these before wearing with Obenauf's leather protection, the water beads right off. The Vulcan sole will never let water between where the shoe leather meets the midsole. I re-reat them whenever sun, dirt, etc. breaks it down and it stops beading water. Never had wet socks. Just don't go into water deeper than the side stretch panels-those are not water proof. So while Redback can't claim these as "waterproof " because there is no liner, I'm telling you, with treatment, they are. I know some guys that don't treat the boots and they still don't get wet feet. TIP: I wouldn't use any petroleum based, mink oil, snow seal or animal-based leather treatment because that will deteriorate the leather where it meets the Vulcan sole. Also because you don't have a liner, they breathe better and are far more comfortable in warmer temps. My feet don't get hot ! In summer, I wear Danner Hot Weather TFX Drymax black crew socks. For colder temps, I wear wool socks.Caveat: I wear Hapad Comforthotic (Athletic, green color) insoles vs. the insoles that come with the boots. The stock insole is pretty chintzy, without a lot of support. Redback knows this and offers a better insole. I tried it, but it's not as good as the Hapads.Hapads are inexpensive; have great arch & heel support/cushion; have a slight more padding just in front of your metatarsals (ball of foot). This subtle "metatarsal lift" takes the brunt of the G force with every step you take - relieving your metatarsal from the full impact of each step. Your feet will impress on the Hapad insole, making it your custom-like orthotic. These help with plantar fasciitis, too.For sure, even without better insoles, this boot is still far more comfortable than any work boot I've ever worn.I asked, and these have a no slip rating and a safety rating. You can call the USA Redback distributor to get a copy. I needed a shoe with a safety rating for a job and these were accepted. www.redbackboots.com is the distributor.Yes, I'd recommend you try them.
I finally decided to give these a try since most people at work use them. I work long 12hrs shifts and need comfy boots my 5.11 are three years old and needed a replacement. I was happy to try these they look great seems to have a good quality finish, the sole is very comfy but the edges of the boot are too stiff and they bother me around my calf. I hope they get better with time.
Feels snug and comfy on my feet and looks like quality leather. Very happy with the excellent customer service Galls provided. Looking forward to your future services. Thank you!
These boots are extremely comfortable, easy to take on and off and look sharp. The only issue is the sizing- at least for me. I normally wear a size 12, sometimes an 11.5 in rare cases. So I initially ordered an 11.5. They seemed a little too short and my toes made contact with a portion of the steel toes area causing some discomfort. I exchanged these for size 12- and these now seem way too big. In the 11.5 I could use a thinner insole to make them work. Maybe in the size 12 I can use a more thick insole to make them fit better. All to say- I'm struggling with the fit on these boots. So I might try going back to the 11.5. I really like these boots and want to try to make them just right for me. Galls does a nice job only advertising the US sizing in this boot (not the AUS sizing). This saves a lot of trouble and takes the worry out of buying them.
The boots that I ordered are a known quantity as I have previously owned the same boots. We did however order the incorrect size. Workwearhub were super efficient in exchanges the the boots. My experience with Workwearhub was first class; friendly, fast and great value merchandise.
Great Low Price on a Beautiful Made Boot. Made in Australia which is a Good Thing I Like about these Boots. The Leather is In Perfect Condition. The Removable Insole is of the Highest Quality. You can tell that there is Many Layers of Cushioning used in Making these Boots. The High Quality Sole has Many Griping Grooves. I think the Sole will not wear fast. Once you get your foot into the Boot and Start Standing and Walking you can tell that these Boots are Very All Day Comfortable. I wear them every day for 6 hours and my feet never hert. Easy break-in Boot. The Elastic Sides Hold your Foot Secure in the Boot. It also makes getting in and out of the Boot Very Easy. No Laces to Tie or Replace. Strong Elastic Material. Inside Lined Boot.
Got these for my EMS job. They are more expensive than others you can find, but these were the only boots of this style that made my size (women's 7). So far they are very comfortable for walking and standing for long hours. They do take a bit of time to break in as the part around the ankles was very stiff for a while, but otherwise, I am very pleased with them. A few of my coworkers have had these same boots for 5+ years and they are still in great shape.
