I’m not excited about the results. I really like the volume but there’s a caveat. Before using this shampoo I used the Oliplex 3 hair bond formula since I had been doing a lot of flat ironing the past 2 weeks. After using the olaplex my hair showed a lot more body but at the same time very dry. Where as I had considered my hair medium texture it seemed to have suddenly changed to require a lot more moisture. Long story short I thought this shampoo would help me do a smoother blowout- and I have not been getting that. Absolutely not for me

To be fair, I don't recall what possessed me to buy this product. I do not need additional volume in my life at all. I normally use Purology Strength Cure, so I was looking for something a little cheaper...but I don't know how I arrived here. Anyway, this was a poor choice for my hair and hair type. I have very thick, coarse hair that is about 40% gray, so I have it professionally color treated. It tends to grow in an outward fashion, providing me with a sexy pyramid sort of look that I have to have aggressively thinned. Volume is not a problem for me. It also leaves a waxy film on my hair, especially at the crown of my head. While my hair was damp, it clumped together and felt very stringy. Once dry, it was very flat and shiny in a bad sort of way. But it smells like roses and ivy, which is nice. I can't image how this product would be good for fine hair types, but maybe my hair is just too porous for it. I'm going to give it to my mom, who does have very fine hair, and see if she likes it.

Excellent Volumizing and Thickening Conditioner

I am a male whose hair is beginning to thin. This conditioner does an excellent job of volumizing and thickening hair when used in conjunction with the Volume Injection shampoo and any styling products. Only a small amount of conditioner is needed, and it rinses clean. In fact, the conditioner does not over-condition hair (no silicones beyond the Filloxane ingredient). The fragrance is not overwhelming nor is it too feminine in my opinion. I have read some reviews about the shampoo drying out hair; this conditioner should follow shampooing. Also, some reviewers have commented that the former High Rise products in the light blue bottles performed better. This shampoo is an excellent foundation for cleaning fine/thin/thinning hair. I am a male with thinning hair and find this shampoo effective at removing all styling products, dirt, and oils from my scalp and hair. I have used many drugstore and salon volume shampoos, and this is the overall best I have used. This shampoo creates a rich lather with only a small amount of product and rinses clean. When followed with the conditioner in this line, my hair is clean, soft, and full. While fragrance is always a matter of opinion, the shampoo's floral fragrance is neither too feminine nor cloying (I am sensitive to scents). I am unsure whether these reviewers condition after shampooing. Also, this shampoo contains filloxane, which works by penetrating hair fibers and filling in the fibers' spaces. This is how the volume injection line plumps the hair fiber, adding volume and thickness. The effect texturizes hair and may give the impression of dry hair when filloxane has actually plumped and texturized hair fibers. Finally, some reviewers have lamented that the previous High Rise Volume line was better. Upon closer inspection, these reviewers would discover that the shampoo ingredients in High Rise and this shampoo are exactly the same and listed in the same order.

GRAVITY DEFYING HAIR BUT SMELLS LIKE GMA’S PURSE

This conditioner is phenomenal as well as the shampoo. Immediately when applying the conditioner I can feel the moisture being added and my strands are smooth and manageable right out of the shower. I have very fine hair and haven’t found a product that actually gives it some body without feeling like a bunch of grit has been added. I’m defying gravity these days! The ONLY drawback is the smell which is a musky rose. Reminiscent of an established woman in her 60s. I am more of a happy-bright-flowery/fruity scent seeker. This product is a miracle worker as well as the ‘White Diamonds’ of shampoo/conditioners. If you enjoy or can deal with the stank- you won’t be disappointed.

After shampooing my hair I use a regular amount of conditioner (about the size of a half dollar coin) and massage it into my hair. I let the conditioner sit in my hair for up to about 4-5 minutes while I continue on with the rest of my shower. After rinsing out the conditioner it honestly feels like I never used conditioner in the first place. After the first few showers of using this conditioner normally, I started conditioning a second time right after rinsing out the first coat of conditioner and this helps immensely. My hair will feel nice and silky. But is it worth it that I'm using more product just to achieve the effect of what a conditioner should do? No volume on thin natural hair

I bought previous version of this shampoo and I loved it very much. It was perfect for me. New formula is not the same, unfortunately. I have thin natural hair which gets dirty every day, so I wash it every morning. With previous formula of this shampoo I could wash my hair once per two days and it really gave me a little volume. But now I don't get any kind of volume, my hair is flat. I use this shampoo with Redken Volume conditioner and my hair don't feel any volume at all. Also my hair gets greasy by the end of a day. This product is very concentrated, lathers great, smells amazing. But doesn't work for my hair type. If you have normal or dry hair, probably, you will like the results.

I have fine, long hair that is fairly healthy but definitely needs some volume. I bought this off a recommendation from a hairdresser. I have used it for two weeks now, in combination with the shampoo, and this has made my hair awful. It is so drying, it doesn't condition at all. I now see that isopropyl alcohol is one of the ingredients, so imagine pouring rubbing alcohol all over your hair, because that's how it feels. It also makes my hair incredibly stiff and hard to work with. It makes it feel as though there's a thick layer of hairspray all over my hair so brushing it and styling it is very difficult. This was very disappointing to me as I thought I got a quality recommendation and the reviews are so positive. Very drying

I had used Redken High Rise Volume shampoo for years and loved it. Since they quit selling High Rise I decided to try this instead. It really is awful! I've been noticing my hair seems very dry plus my hair is so flat the day I wash it. I typically have very healthy hair that holds a style nicely. I went to my hairdresser a few weeks ago for my usual cut and highlights. She's been doing my hair for 4 or 5 years and she asked if I was doing something different to my hair. The only thing that has changed is my shampoo. She said I never have split ends but I had so many this visit. It had only been 7 weeks since my last cut and she had to cut 3" off to get my hair back to a healthy state.
