Redragon K580 Vata RGB LED Backlit Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with

The keyboard I had before (my first mechanical keyboard) used blue switches that were way too loud. I decided to get the K580 because it was quieter (especially when playing games), while still having the feedback when typing. The RGB is vibrant, the media and macro keys feel nice (Though you can't change the color of them, which may clash if you want a specific color for the keys). The dial for volume/ rgb brightness is a bit stiffer than I would've expected but still works just fine. I've never used macro keys or editable rgb, but after reading the manual and a week of using it, that's practically second nature now. I wanted to get quieter keyboard switches for some of the keys (such as the WASD keys). This is where my problem with this keyboard starts. I cannot find any switches that are compatible with this keyboard.I've looked at various forums but haven't found anything. I sent a message to Redragon's support team, but they ignored my message. It came with a set of replacement switches. (Red, Black, Brown, and Blue; 2 of each) but this isn't enough to replace all the keys I wanted to. As far as I can tell, the switches used in the keyboard are exclusive to this board, and not sold anywhere else. I'm probably going to give up looking soon.I think I'll just replace the WASD keys with the Red and Black switches that came with it and never buy a keyboard with optical Outemus again.

BEST KEYBOARD I'VE EVER USED (AND I'VE HAD A LOT)

I go through keyboards like my underwear, at least one every 6 months, with work, video editing, gaming, everyday use, I go through these things like crazy. I have gotten the cheapest ones from 5Below, and some of the most expensive ones. I took a chance on this budget friendly keyboard as it had checked 95% of the check marks I was looking for in a keyboard (RGB, full size, blue switches, metal housing, media controls, macros keys). I have used this keyboard for about 6 months now, and this has by far, been the best keyboard I have ever used. Beating the higher end brands. The blue switches are amazing, nice, tactile feel. The only downfall I would say it that is doesn't have a wrist rest (have to purchase one separately) And the wrist rest isn't magnetic (like the past Redragon keyboard I have purchased before. That and a USB passthrough for items like your mouse, would be great. If those 2 items were on here, this would be a solid 10/10 for me. Amazing keyboard tho, at a great price.

Better than I expected

All that make it good :- Updated hardware : got 1 for my daughter 8 month ago. The new one is updated/even better build with metal top frame, programable button not red anymore but white, the color of the RGB reflect really what the software show/white are white ... not purple, better key feel...- The brown swith are really silent ! and the tactile feel is awesome ... Just perfect- the media control works perfect / volume control is really reactive !- the swap-able key works perfect ( tools included with some free replacement key )- the side RGB is customizable- perfect size for a 100% keyboard- the upper function of number key ( !"/$%?&*, etc ... ) are well lit and easy read- overall quality is really great !- Really good pricing - not over priced like ... MoreAll that make it good :- Updated hardware : got 1 for my daughter 8 month ago. Even with his little "flaws" , this keyboard is awesome.

Firmware problems

I have been using a Redragon Vata keyboard for a month with no problem.I bought it from a well-known webshop in Hungary.I also ordered a K585 Diti gaming keyboard from Redragon webshop.After installing Redragon K585RGB Keyboard software my K580 Vata keyboard stopped working properly.It seems the firmware update of K585 Diti keyboard has messed with the Vata keyboard's firmware.Only half of the keys are lighting up, strangely only those same keys, which are on the Diti keyboard.Is there a way to hard reset or reisntall the original firmware of the K580 Vata keyboard?

Good features, but some issues

I wanted: full mechanical w/removable switch, separate macro keys, numpad, properly backlit keys (logitech doesn't illuminate symbols for no reason), some dedicated media/volume. Nothing else has it, AFAIK! So all that is good. Unfortunately has these issues:1. No separate mute button! This was one of my requirements. But there is this workaround: using the software, it can be assigned to any button. I used Pause, which is also conveniently marked with an M on it. :D2. The backlight is sufficient but not extra bright - this is needed because you may be in a bright room. Other backlight issues: LEDs have flicker. One step in the brightness control firmware is buggy (a step is out of sequence). Lastly, no white color! This makes no sense to me - I had just assumed it would have white. Instead, a light pink is the closest thing and the brightest.3. Every key has metallic 'ping' sound, mainly if hitting keys harder. After about 9 months, the W (used in gaming) has become slightly intermittent - a few days ago it wouldn't always register with light press. So the switches may not be top quality!4. No wrist pad. All gaming keyboards need one that can be attached. I got the redragon one which is ok but you're always repositioning it since it moves around.So, If these issues were fixed, would be the best model on the market IMO, and all at a good price too.

K580 wireless

Could only get the k580 wireless with red switches. Replaced with blue switches which, for me, is much better. Installed white pudding keycaps for a fresher look and now it almost ticks all the boxes. Only think I'd rather see is to change between 2.4Ghz and bluetooth directly from the keyboard just like the k618. Proximity sensor to turn on backlight would be another great addition. But I really like the keyboard and the volume scroller. Can recommend!

Low expectations, hugely underestimated

I bought this keyboard as a replacement of an older Logitech keyboard. The main thing that got me was price as its half as much as a Logitech keyboard of the same specs.I have been using it for a few months now and its working perfectly. Its also a little bit quieter than my old one too. I will say that if you have never gotten a mechanical keyboard before, the noise is unusual at first. You eventually get used to it and is easy drowned out with music or streaming shows.

Nice keyboard with good functionalities

This keyboard is overall a good keyboard for productivity and gaming. I do a mix of both and find the features very helpful in both situations. The red keys are a nice touch, but do need some getting used to. It is a hefty, heavy, and rigid keyboard with cool backlight effects.There are many pros with this keyboard, if your computers support bluetooth, this makes multitasking a breeze. I have it set to be able to swap between my two computers and my phone. The top macro keys are a nice bonus for anyone who has mundane repetitive keystrokes. For me, it's copy, cut and paste. Surprisingly, I never thought I would need it, but once I had it set up, I didn't have to worry about finger dexerity. So I can copy, cut, or paste much quicker. As a brand new keyboard, I had to, right off the bat pull out the key and inspect it. I ended up replacing the switch with the scroll lock one since I never use it.Another con I realized is, although there is 3 connection mode, to switch from bluetooth to using the 2.4ghz mode requires you to flip the keyboard around and toggle a switch. It is pointless to have a "2.4g" key on the keyboard if it won't do anything, and is SUPER misleading. Why is it there? Also note, if your computer uses bit locker, your keyboard will not connect via bluetooth at the bitlocker unlock screen. Not the keyboard's fault, but just incase you think it would be all rainbows and unicorns with bluetooth.If you're coming from a brown or blue switch keyboard, I HIGHLY suggest you get ready for a world of change. I'm open to change, but red switches are very different, and I am not a fan. Try to find a store to try out a mechanical keyboard with red switches before you buy this keyboard. Otherwise, this keyboard is good for both gaming and multitasking, if your computer does not use bitlocker on wake and you can ignore that there's a key to switch to 2.4ghz that doesn't work. It's worth the buy if you like red switches.

Quality PC accessories

After owning PC accessories like Razer and Steel series. Redragon VATA K580 PRO feels and plays a ton better. The switches are just loud enough to be music to my ears, and quiet enough to be satisfying to click! The perfect switch~The keyboard is heavy, which is a great indicator for quality and build of the keyboard. My package also came with spare keys! (Never seen this before) And also a tool to remove keys and switches!I will be purchasing more redragon products in the future (looking for a new mice ;) )

This keyboard rocks!

This is a 5 star keyboard for sure. It heavy enough to not slide easily, the RGB is easy to figure out (once you read the manual), and it comes with 8 replacement switches (I got 8 brown switches and I got the brown switches on the keyboard). Sounds nice, albeit rather loud, even the brown switches. It's plug and play, and you do not need to install the software to have the full functionality of the keyboard in my opinion. The metal faceplate rings when you type on it, but I don't mind it too much, since it makes the keyboard heavier and incredibly difficult to bend. Bought this off Amazon and definitely do not regret it. If you want an inexpensive full size mechanical keyboard, go for the Redragon K580 VATA!
