Apparently I didn’t know how bad my previous solar controller was until I installed yours. Amazing. Took 5 minutes to install, batteries never dipped out whole 4 day camping trip even with my kids being the energy monsters they alway are. Besides that, your customer service was awesome. Thank you, I have told everyone who will listen about your product and service.

The product is working very well. It was difficult to select the battery type because the print on the screen is so small. Also, the directions were not clear regarding setting the load parameters. It took some trial and error to get it right.

This has been running on my camper for over a month with a 230W solar panel. Keeps battery charged without overcharging. When I killed the battery overnight (<6V in the morning) it brought the battery back to life the next day, no issues. I specifically got this model since I plan on switching to Lithium batteries eventually and this controller will handle that transition with a few button pushes. Installation and setup was easy.

It’s been 4 almost 5 months since Iv installed the unit on my truck. It’s been doing great charging 116ah of LTO. I bought the unit with the Bluetooth module but the Bluetooth has died on me. Iv unplugged it a few times. Power cycled the unit. It never came back. The charger it’s self is fantastic. I use it at shows to keep the alternator from melting down trying to support 27,000 watts. I can just shut down the truck and we’re all good. Keeps charging. Currently planning on getting 3-4 units for the camp to Keep all the vehicles out there topped off
Good quality, good value. The charge controller was easy to mount, provides data capture and seems to control within the limits set. I have not yet used it close to capacity as I am searching for larger batteries. One improvement could be made in production, and that is the wire clamps in the unit. They are serviceable, but they do not fully capture the wire. I would like to see a box style as opposed to the clamp style. Real time data is available on the built in display. Beware that there is no direct Linux support from Renogy for their products! It would be better if they provided a Linux app to display data. Instead, add another $40 USD for a Bluetooth interface...somewhat disappointing...
Why o why does the location has to be on my phone to connect to the bt-1 . What on can be a benifit to me or renogy know the location of where I an! It a invasion of my private live. And is my legal right to keep that private. Not be obligation just to read the charge power of my solar panel. Really needs to update the app so this is the case. I am sure most others people feel the same way!
I purchased the 20AMP Renogy version with the bluetooth module. My ONLY problem with the module or in this case really its design is that the signal strength does not penetrate walls well.. so to be any real use (the 25-meter distance supported).. really is not lived up to. My window to outside mounted BT-1 might be 25feet max away, but it still has problems syncing up .. and normally I have to move to a room that has a window that is 10feet from the BT-1 .. rather exasperating . OTHERWISE the 'older' app connects and work pretty well .. thought still a bit archaic as apps go. I will give them great credit as I am using a tablet .. versus a cellphone .. and my tablet is NOT supported by the newest app.. so.. I guess I get what i deserve.. :-)
I bought this from the Renogy website while it was on sale for roughly $100. The Renogy website is easy to use and the experience with Renogy so far has been very good. I have called technical support about this product and they have been very helpful. The charge controller arrived via UPS and looks like it is a quality product. I may update my review after I install the controller and see how it operates with my solar system.
10/25/2018 review update. I just tested my solar system and I had a couple of concerns with the controller and the solar panel. The concern with the charge controller is that when I installed the tray cables and battery cables to the charge controller I discovered the wires were being smashed into the plastic charge controller cover. I believe the holes are misaligned on the plastic cover and this caused the wires to be severely bent and pushing on the charge controller plastic cover when tightened. I will call technical support to see if I may have got a defective unit. If this is the way it is designed then I would not recommend this controller and will see if I can get a refund due to being completely dissatisfied with the design of the unit.
This controller is working very well charging 4 deep cycle 12 Volt marine batteries at an off grid cabin. Charging to best level, better than at home plug in charger even. Using two 100 watt solar panels in series for best voltage. Limited full sun light, in October, with trees on two sides only getting full sun about 4 hours, partial before and after. Charging even in partial light. Have been impressed how well everything is working so far.
