Resident Evil Revelations 2

The beginning of the Resident Evil Revelations 2 tale sees fan favourite Claire Redfield make a dramatic return. Survivor of the Raccoon City incident depicted in previous Resident Evil games, Claire now works for the anti-bioterrorism organisation Terra Save. Moira Burton, is attending her welcome party for Terra Save when unknown armed forces storm the office. Claire and Moira are knocked unconscious and awaken later to find themselves in a dark and abandoned detention facility. Working together, they must find out who took them and to what sinister end. With the terrifying Afflicted enemies waiting around every dark corner, players will need to use their ammo and weapon supply wisely, in classic survival horror style. Will Claire and Moira make it out alive and discover what's led to them being taken to this remote island? Who else will they come across? A story of twists and turns will have players guessing the next step at every turn.

This is quite possibly one of the best entries to come out in the series in a very long time. It combines the best aspects of modern action oriented Resident Evil with classic survival horror Resident Evil. The story is cheesy, but keeps you entertained throughout, and although the graphics are just okay, the gameplay is solid. You can tell they learned a lot from Resident Evil Revelations. However, the absolute STAR of the show is Raid Mode. Incredibly addicting, fun, and absolutely a blast to play through with a friend. It has an immensely deep RPG mechanic to it and features tons and tons of levels to try out all your new guns and abilities. Highly recommended if you enjoyed mercenary mode in previous entries.

Revelations 2 is a sequel, of sorts, but doesn’t continue the previous story. Instead, the game centers on Claire Redfield and Moira Burton who are kidnapped at a TerraSave.Takes place between Resident Evil 5 & 6.A huge improvement compared to the first revelations. Visuals, the game’s a little uneven. Character models, both human and creature, look gorgeous and hideously grotesque respectively. The same goes for the pacing, plot points, and even music. Revelations 2 goes for quantity over quality with tons of extras to unlock, a lengthy campaign, and bonus modes.

Liked the first one on ps3 so I had to try this one, especially being a fan of the series. Its fun and unique in that you control 2 players throughout the game, like in certain parts of RE0. Some people don't like it and are turned off by it but I thought it worked well together with the game. SPOILER ALERT : This game plays out like a season of a television show with completed "episodes" being played for you every time you turn the game back on, there's about 8 or 9 of these episodes in total. Revelations 1 was the same way. I think it really sucks that both players cant be armed, but I got over that pretty fast. Also being a fan of the series, I think they did my favorite character a disservice in this one, hes kinda goofy i think but those are minor complaints ... MoreLiked the first one on ps3 so I had to try this one, especially being a fan of the series. Resident Evil Revelations 2 is a fan service for those that love the classic Resident Evil. It brings the survival horror back to its core with a strong story that will keep you wanting for more by the end of the each "episode". The only downside is that I wish the game was much much longer. The game takes place between Resident Evil 5 and 6. Also, I will strongly recommend that you had played the Resident Evil 5 DLC (with Jill & Chris) before jumping into this game. The "journals" from there are key elements in this game.

Fun game. The ability to control two characters and switching them on the fly to do combos is very neat. The flashlight blind and psychic mechanics are also very unique. I didn't really like the raid mode as it felt a bit too easy and repetitive for me but perhaps others would like it if they enjoy the grind. Graphics hold well given when it was released. There are quite a few puzzles, especially in the 3rd episode, which I enjoyed.

RE Revelations 2 is one of those rare under-appreciated gems that fly under everyone's radar so often. Not only does it have a well written single player narrative (YES! In a Resident Evil), but the side game Raid Mode provides endless hours of fun. Both the campaign and Raid Mode have local co-op, which is really nice in these days of online only multiplayer. Real life friends not included ;-)

This game has been a delightful surprise. As a long time fan of the Resident Evil franchise I snatched it up immediately but didn't have any idea what to expect from it. What I got is an extremely fun story mode that features a neat tag team system where you work together with an NPC to solve problems, and an engrossing story full of classic Resident Evil elements and a clever chapter system with tantalizing cliffhangers and non linear storytelling that kept me wanting to know what would happen next. The game's combat is satisfying, with much of combat requiring careful choice of the right weapon and opportunities to customize weapons to suit how you want to use them. Even without Raid Mode I would be satisfied with this game, but Raid Mode is like a whole other game in itself and has kept me playing well after finishing the main campaign. There are plenty of creepy moments to be had here and I found myself really involved with the characters and the story line, plus the extra value of Raid Mode, which all adds up to an extremely satisfying purchase.

The storyline of Resident Evil Revelations 2 fits between Resident Evil 5 and 6. It plays like a traditional RE game with item boxes and extensive weapon caches although the auto save features leave a lot to be desired. You play as 2 separate teams of characters being able to control 4 characters with specialized skill sets. The game is fun to play and puzzles are moderately difficult. Graphics are great compared to the drab of RE5. Highly recommended title if you enjoy RE games.

RE6 is still my fave, but this was a great return to RE's survival horror roots. Although it's not considered canonized, it's more like Resident Evil than RE7. I love that there are very few puzzles, and that the story took you to different areas instead of trapping you in one place and having you revisit it frequently to solve a puzzle in order to make progress in the game.I really enjoyed seeing some of the original characters back in the game (literally). I missed Claire, and I never played a game that included Barry. Raid Mode is fun because you get to play with some familiar faces, like Leon, Chris, HUNK, and the bastard everybody loves to hate, Wesker. I hope Capcom returns to these types of RE titles.
