The ResMed AirCurve 10 VAuto is an auto-adjusting bilevel device that uses the comfort of both the AutoSet algorithm and Easy-Breathe waveform to treat obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in patients who can benefit from greater pressure support. The device is an adaptive servo-ventilator specifically designed to treat patients exhibiting central sleep apnea (CSA), mixed sleep apnea and periodic breathing, with or without obstructive sleep apnea. Featuring the most clinically-studied ASV algorithm, AirCurve 10 CS PaceWave is the only adaptive servo-ventilator that targets the patient’s own recent minute ventilation.

The power cord failed after operating a few minutes. I called Apria for a replacement power cord and was told they don't stock parts and to purchase the cord from the internet or call Resmed. I called Resmed and was referred back to ApriaDirect. Placed several calls to Apria Direct and was told I would receive an email message with instruction to return the AirCurve 10, I informed ApriaDirect that I was using the machine with an old cord from an AirCurve 10 that had failed and that I refuse to return it, but would return the bad power cord. I never received the email message with return authorization. i haven't received the replacement cord to date and this is the last time I will use ApriaDirect.James Sanders

This model of adaptive servo ventilation is truly the best machine I could find for mixed apnea with mainly central apnea. I tried CPAP which just felt like it was blowing air at me when I tried to exhale. I also did a second sleep clinic trial with BIPAP and was very discouraged. The third night trial they tried a Respironics adaptive which was almost tolerable. Then I decided to buy the best machine on the market, an AirCurve 10 ASV. I really love it. The first night I slept well. It is completely silent. I had been having 68 episodes of apnea per hour. Now two weeks in and I'm down to about 5 to 15 AHI's. This is truly an amazing servo which I can hardly feel at all. No nasty air going into my stomach and no feeling of having my lungs overinflated. I am a true fan.

A few yrs ago I got sick w/ meningitis admitted into ICU. Doctors kept asking my wife what my cpap info was? I recovered and 4 sleep studies I diagnosed with central sleep apnea - and not proud but have second highest episodes in my state according to my doctor of 156 per hour. I didnt know - I've just lived with it all my life - felt hung over every morning with out drinking - headaches, and tired of course. This machine has changed my life literally - my energy is so much better. I'm not moody from being tired. I'm down to 10-30 episodes sometimes 5-10 which is incredible. Sleep impacts so many things we tend to not consider. I didn't have much of a transition to using it personally. Now I cant live without it. I had a few power outages where I didnt have it - and went right back to headaches, etc. I've since purchased separate power source for this now going forward. I gave it all 5 stars because what is the price of your health worth? Central apnea sucks - there just aren't alot of options because the equipment is specialized. To any considering trying - do it. do it now.

I've had the previous version of this ASV which eventually developed a valve leak, becoming more noisy. This replacement is outstandingly quiet, and effectively provides balanced airflow to control my complex sleep apnea. Very happy with the product.
I have idiopathic central apnea, and spent a year trying to address it with a cpap machine. I think it helped some, but had inconsistent results and compliance was miserable. After a second study, and my physician wrangling with the insurance company, I got a ResMed AirCurve 10 ASV in place. I haven't missed a night for 2 months; my events per hour often are 0.0! This is a big improvement from 18 or so with the cpap. LIFE CHANGING. I have named my machine and would like to hug it every morning.
I went through 4 sleep tests trying every machine made. My AHI was 85. They finally tried the Aircurve. I was diagnosed with Central apnea where my brain isn't sending the signal to breath until my 02 drops below 70. The Aircurve begins to ramp up and has helped bring my score down to 5. Its taken a little bit to get used to. Finally found a nasal cushion and chin strap that doesn't annoy me. Its been a slow process for me but I am finally feeling some results.
Today is 1/10/17. I received mine May 2015 and have used it every night since. This machine has been nothing short of a technological miracle. It is SILENT even when it ramps way up to keep me breathing through central apnea events. I quickly grew to love this machine and appreciate what it does for me. I don't even take naps without it. It is allow me (a commercial Pilot) to be able to fly again.
I have severe breathing issues due to PTSD and other military traumatic events. I learned of this therapy from a VA Counselor in my local community, not from the VA Administration. The evaluation and device were secured through Medicare. My sleep changed from 28 episodes per hour to less than one after three months of use. The two month followup with the sleep Doctor resulted in the need for annual check ups which is the minimum, I am told. Life is much different, I am o longer having nightmares every time I go to sleep. I am mostly rested, much less irritable, my eyes do not burn all my waking hours. This is a God send.
Small and lightweight for travel. Small water reservoir needs to be filled regularly in dry weather. The hose is so long it gets caught in my headboard sometimes. The cord can come unplugged easily from the back. It is fairly easy to understand the readings on the screen.
This machine, the aircurve 10 ASV, reduced my AHI from about 40 to under 3 events per hour. My old CPAP reduced obstructive apnea completely, but then central sleep apnea still had me at 20-40 events per hour. So, sleeping like a normal person with this machine. This is a good price for this system. The doctors office ordered this same system and was charged about 3 times this amount. Just the insurance deductible was almost the same price as the machine costs here. The machine is quiet, has a built in humidifier. The machine was set to a high pressure to begin, and was unusable until the doctor reduced the pressure quite a bit. Great once the pressure was down. My previous non-central-sleep-apnea machine had a front panel display where you could look up your AHI ... MoreThis machine, the aircurve 10 ASV, reduced my AHI from about 40 to under 3 events per hour. This machine does not -- you have to either use an online program to look up your number or else download a (free) third party program called sleepyhead to read the SIMM card from the machine.
