Whilst these masks are at the upper end cost wise and, therefore, a bit pricey (generally) they quite simply are the best mask on the market at present for most CPAP and Bi Level users. I am, quite honestly, a really bad sleeper. I kill pillows and masks at an astounding rate and find these masks really good quality. It took over 12 months to kill my first F30i, and I was more than happy to shell out for another. The main benefits I have gained from using this mask is, no pressure on the bridge of my nose, no congestion and, most importantly, no puffy eyes which was a real issue with the full face mask I previously used.I do highly recommend this mask.

Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of things to like about the F30i. It's the mask that I sleep best with (your mileage may vary, of course). Its design is great - hose connect out of the way on the top of the head, low profile on the face. Some may have issues with the nose holes aligning. The thing that bugs me is the build quality - or for the more cynical, planned obsolescence built into this product, which is by no means cheap. You see, the frame clicks into the pillow part via two clear plastic parts, and if you examine it, you'll notice that the mechanism is only secured by a plastic tab, one on each point of connection.Because of the plastic material used, and the fact that the tab flexes everytime you remove or reinstall the mask on the frame, the tabs ... MoreDon't get me wrong, there are plenty of things to like about the F30i. The connection gets looser and looser. Eventually, the tabs fail altogether, and if you insist on continuing to use the mask, your only choice is to glue the frame to the pillow. While CPAP masks are meant to be consumables, the fact is, those plastic tabs are more likely to break before the silicone degrades sufficiently to render the seal useless.

Resmed spare parts are very expensive for what you get - eg the mask webbing at $65 is really overboard. A more reasonable price would be around $AU20, given that they last only a short time. When new, the quality is good, but again, the mask cushions have a short life span. And replacement costs are very high. While the mask itself is OK, to get a proper airtight fit, you have to pull the bottom strap fairly tight. This means that the width of the strap becomes narrow. This means that the webbing becomes overstretched, permanently. The velcro pad is then wider than the strap it is supposed to grip so the attachment is not as secure as its supposed to be. Also, the webbing strap has a fairly short life span before the velcro pad no longer grip onto the webbing. I’ve finally made it one full week and thought I should share my opinions on this mask. As others have noted, trying to attach the tube is difficult without getting your hair stuck in it. My solution was after I fit the mask I slide the port towards my forehead to get it out of my hair before plugging in and then readjusting. As far as the fit goes I kind of got lucky with just eyeballing my nose size based off of the fit diagram. As far as leaking I think many people are having issues with it from fighting their straps too much. The directions state to fit it under the nose without creasing the silicone. I adjusted mine by putting my cpap in mask fit and tightened and adjusted the fit just enough to seal. It did take a little playing with to make sure the holes sit ... MoreI’ve finally made it one full week and thought I should share my opinions on this mask. I adjusted mine by putting my cpap in mask fit and tightened and adjusted the fit just enough to seal. It did take a little playing with to make sure the holes sit just below your nostrils but that couldn’t be any different than nasal pillows.(but I wouldn’t know) my only real con if you could call it that is the anti-asphyxia holes on the front of the mask. There’s a steady stream of air that comes out that my disturb your parter, mine doesn’t complain. My main reason for purchasing mas the fact that I breath out of both my nose and mouth, and also toss and turn from stomach to side and back. With my traditional mask I would wrap the hose around my neck in my sleep or break the seal laying on my side and bleed air into my eyes causing my to rip it off.
This hybrid mask is very comfortable and works great for those who switch between side and back sleeping positions. Love that the tubing attaches atop the head instead of directly in front of the face… allows for much more comfortable sleeping. This model was recommended to me by a Lofta representative and I’m so grateful she did! I imagine this is the closest thing to natural sleeping that a full-mask CPAP user can get. Note: if you want to use a ResMed Air Mini TRAVEL CPAP, this mask is not compatible. You can overcome this with a ZephAir adapter, but you won’t be able to use the waterless humidifier function. To me, still VASTLY worth it. Honestly, my regular CPAP is so small and light, I just travel with it instead of purchasing a travel unit!
I bought the mask hoping for an improvement on my prior mask. Full Face is not accurate as it merely covers the mouth and nose.... and there's the problem. Despite wearing the widest mask, and having the straps as tight as guitar strings, nighttime was constant issues with air leaks... not at first but as I fell asleep, movement of my head on the pillow precipitated leaks. My Bpap presents a sleep report after each night and my scores varied between 49 and 73/100. Entirely because of air leaks..I'm going back to my uncomfortable prior maskmask.... this one was a disappointment
There appears to be a flaw in the design of this mask. Despite it being the correct size for my anthropometry, and despite me checking and verifying a good mask seal through the feature on my ResMed AirSense 11, the mask seal breaks several times throughout the night whenever I take a large breath through my mouth or nose. Specifically, the silicone around the nares loses contact with my skin. People in my family have seen this happen when I am wearing the mask. Whenever I use this mask, I do not receive my prescribed air pressures and, as a result, wake up feeling exhausted and with low Sp02 -- it completely negates my CPAP therapy. I caution everyone against buying this mask.
Had the F20 with the memory foam and it got a great seal with my beard. Didn’t mind the hose coming out of the front at all. I DID mind the bulky area near my eyes over the bridge of my nose. This hybrid mask is very comfortable and I love that I can give my nose a quick scratch as needed, since it’s exposed. I hate the vent holes! When on my side it’s blowing right in my arm or into my wife’s face at times. The air tubes on the sides of my face are loud but the biggest issue is that any slight movement causes leaks. This mask isn’t for me. I will try the hybrid with the hose on the front next. Not sure that this will make the leaks any better but it seems like it’s the hoses on the “i” model that cause some of the issues with leaks on my side. Things might be worse ... MoreHad the F20 with the memory foam and it got a great seal with my beard. Didn’t mind the hose coming out of the front at all. I started using this mask after I jumped ship from Respironics. Philips' nearly identical mask used to rub the bottom of my nose raw every night. This mask fits perfectly. My gripe with this mask is the tabs where the tubes connect to the mask are very thin and they break easily. I don't ever get the lifespan out of this mask because it breaks on me after a month or so. Even when it breaks, the masks luckily still work but are difficult to put on. To avoid this from happening to you, undo both magnets every time you take off the mask.
Very, very good system with excellent comfort and strong tendency to stay put through the night even on this side-sleeper who turns to the other side without awareness. I get great therapy results with this, without the annoyance of a mask over the bridge of my nose or a hose in front of me to tangle with. Comfort on the face is outstanding, hose stays out of the way. Combines the superior comfort of a "nasal pillow" with the dependable pressure delivery of a "full face" mask.Downsides:Some tendency toward irritation where the straps graze the skin closest to my neck—if the straps are tight enough to get a good seal under the relatively high ~14-17 inHg pressure I usually need, they are tight enough to irritate by morning in the back. The front-facing vent holes can be annoying now and then, for example by blowing on my spouse or bouncing off my phone or book back into my eyes while doing some reading before falling asleep. The top-of-head part that makes this headgear so great for side sleepers leaves its impression in one's hair, and this seems worst for short hair. If your hair is long enough to be swept back by the headgear, or you have a buzz cut, you should be fine, but you may need extra grooming effort in the morning if in-between.
