A leap forward in Full Face Masks

When I saw the F40 I just had to try it, I’ve used the ResMed AirFit/AirTouch F20 and AirFit F30 before. Both the F20 and F30 are good overall, but kinda annoying when side sleeping because of the hard plastic on the mask. The F40 with its all silicone construction is a lot more comfortable in all sleeping positions. The F40 is a definite evolution in ResMed’s full face mask line. The F40’s cushion is smaller than the F30’s making it even more unobtrusive. The slim hose extension is actually nice, it reduces the pull the CPAP hose exerts on the mask. Overall, it’s my favorite mask right now.

By far the most comfortable mask I have ever used!

In the last 15 months, I have purchased 6 different types of CPAP mask (each with different size cushions) in my struggle to find a comfortable CPAP mask which doesn’t leak noisily at night. This is by far the most comfortable and is so soft on my face that I don’t need to use a mask liner. I have used it for the last 30 nights and have not needed to rotate use with other masks for comfort. Despite sleeping on my side (and having a deviated septum) I get a good seal (and any leaks are easy to correct). The headset is much more comfortable than any other I have used (most, even small size are too big for me), does not pull my hair and (unlike ALL my other headsets) stays well clear of my ears so I never wake up with painful ears in the night. Just started CPAP therapy in February. I bought this mask because my sinuses get congested from spring time allergies making it difficult to breathe through my nose when sleeping. I was using both the Airfit P10 nose pillows and N30 nose cushion and neither works when I get really congested. I still want to be able to use the CPAP when I’m congested so I bought the F40 hybrid full face mask to try. I bought the medium. I do like it as I can breathe through my mouth now. The only issue I have is that the medium size is a bit too tight around my nose. Presses the outside of my nostrils towards each other. I would’ve rated it a 5 star if not that for that. I just bought the SW size and it should be arriving today to try out.

Great Machine! I shouldn't have waited so long to upgrade
14 April 2024

I've had the same machine for over 12 years. My original machine was a champ and worked great the whole time. I didn't realize how much quieter the new machines are as compared to the older ones. The AirSense 11 is super user-friendly and I love checking my score every day on my phone! I purchased the heated hose and humidifier block off since I haven't used a humidifier in many years. When I first used it as a test I wasn't sure it was even on since the ramp up of the pressure was so light and I couldn't even hear the unit.My AHI is .67 on average from the first 9 nights. When I did my test 12+ years ago, my AHI was 77.

Great upgrade great service
12 August 2024

I switched to this mask from another nasal cradle model (the F30). I’m completely new to cpap and while the F30 is fine I needed the mouth covering feature of a hybrid style. It was a significantly positive change for my cpap effectiveness. When cleaning it, the small front mounted hose came apart - I think I just got a bad one. Lofta sent me a replacement without any problems ata ok which made a new customer for them (me).Only reason for not being 5 stars is the connection for that hose at the mask is prone to someAir leakage. Resmed needsmtonout a little“O ring” or something to seal it better while allowing movement.

Hate to say it, but I feel it's a bit better than the 11.

The card-to-cloud machine is best for me because I'm not interested in springing for technology just to permit automatic data-transmission to a doctor that doesn't want it anyway. I use an app that reads the SD-card with my card-reader, and records my cpap therapy, presenting daily graphs of all the data (the same stuff the experts review.) With a little homework, I educate myself on what's going on. It's not rocket-science. I can then tweak the settings to optimize my therapy... and it's working great! I have only changed one setting since the doctor made the initial settings on my first machine (a resmed S7, followed by an S9) 20 years ago. A lot of cpap patients keep tabs on their own therapy this way.Furthermore, The AutoSet 10 is LESS noisy than the 11 (which ... MoreThe card-to-cloud machine is best for me because I'm not interested in springing for technology just to permit automatic data-transmission to a doctor that doesn't want it anyway. I don't use the humidifier function. Instead, I use a Vornado Evap40 room humidifier that only needs water every three days or so, therefore I don't have to mess with filling the cpap machine every night, and I wake up without dried out breathing passages. In fact, nothing in the whole room gets dried out either. I recommend this humidifier arrangement to all cpap users.

Just What the Doctor Ordered--and at a very good price
18 May 2024

This was part of our first purchase at Sleeplay and until the order arrived I was a little on edge, wondering if it was "too good to be true." I received exactly what was advertised, quickly and at a very good price.**We decided to go with the Airsense 10 because of the value and reliability we know it represents--we've had one for many years, and because the 11 hasn't had universally good reviews. The heated tubing is really nice--wish we'd started getting that 10 years ago.I am extremely grateful to Sleeplay for the Medical/Military/First responder discount.Good on ya, Sleeplay!**I forgot--one of the extra tubes we ordered for a different Airsense 10 was the incorrect model. One quick call and a new one was shipped the next day.Sleeplay will be my first ... MoreThis was part of our first purchase at Sleeplay and until the order arrived I was a little on edge, wondering if it was "too good to be true." Mixed feelings - love and hate
8 May 2024

On the love side: I enjoy seeing my face in the morning without the brutal signs of typical straps marks … no more like coming out of a brutal fight. On the hate side, and as I am a side sleeper, and as rested has not found a better solution to those two nose holes, the breathing feels obstructed several times during the night disturbing my sleep. The separation between the nose holes tend to block one of the nostrils. Same issue with F30 and f30i that I used intensively before. For me, the f20 is a better option for this particular issue of nostril blocking but of course the f20 cause puffed and dried eyes and tends to have leak problems.I gave it 4 stars because I really like the reduced pressure impact on my face but I advise Resmed to kindly invest more time ... MoreOn the love side: I enjoy seeing my face in the morning without the brutal signs of typical straps marks … no more like coming out of a brutal fight. On the hate side, and as I am a side sleeper, and as rested has not found a better solution to those two nose holes, the breathing feels obstructed several times during the night disturbing my sleep. ResMed is the Best
12 July 2024

I swore by the Philips Respironics DreamStation 1 and 2 that I owned prior. They my told me it was time to upgrade my device so I requested another Philips. I had a ton of Philips supplies and the machines were always good. They instead sent a ResMed AirSense 11. I complained a bit before being told they no longer carried Philips machines. I grudgingly tried the AirSense 11 and immediately fell in love with it. It was much more quiet, much better for breathing with EPR, less leaks, more user control on the machine, better mobile app, and the ResMed mask selection was far superior. The only area that ResMed was inferior was the humidifier chamber. Most important to me was the EPR settings which adjust pressure on exhale vs inhale. This impressed me enough that I had my doctor write a prescription for a BiPAP and I bought the AirCurve 11 out of pocket. Wow! Being able to set ePAP and iPAP and put a bigger gap on exhale vs inhale is incredible. Breathing is so much better now and my sleep is very deep. Couple that with the ResMed AirTouch memory foam masks which allow me to relax the tightness on the headgear and I get the best sleep ever. I'm finally entering REM state and experiencing dreams again!

These are supposed to get better right?
29 May 2024

As technology evolves most things get smaller and lighter . This 11 isn’t that much smaller than my ResMed S9. The new water chamber, your lucky if you get one night out of it if you like humidification and not wearing a mask that has the humid x system . Also the brown hose that comes with it is heavy and more rigid than the white clear hoses of past and in the mask adapters . When you are sleeping you feel the weight of the hose pulling on your face. That’s not comfortable. Just don’t understand who gave the green light on that decision . One thing I will say is it’s quiet . Not so much that it outweighs the others cons . Not thrilled with this . I might just go back to my ResMed S9 and use this as back up .
