For many years, the Volkswagen Beetle was the car that started it all. Countless young people learned to drive with it, countless people drove it as the first car in their lives. Over the years, improvements were made to the vehicle again and again to keep the Beetle competitive. Even in 1968, the Beetle had a standard that kept it competitive against the competition of the time. In the meantime, the former 1131 cc engine had become a power unit with 1500 cc displacement and 44 hp output. Disc brakes at the front and a new semi-trailing arm rear axle kept this temperament in check. The headlights were now vertical and you could refuel the tank through a side flap.

This plastic kit of a Volkswagen "Beetle" first appeared by Revell in the 1960s and the condition of the sprues indicate as much, with lots of excess plastic. It is way poorer than products from other parts of the world. As a challenge for a kit builder, yes but for a newcomer to the hobby, no. Given the number of kit moulds that Revell has in store I would have thought they could have found something in far better condition.

Looks like the '68 version of the bug. I have not built this yet but for a Revell kit it appears well made and pretty straightforward. It should make a very acceptable model.
Very well made model, not assembled yet but looking forward to doing it.
Not what I expected at all , no detail at all , one step up from a snap together . It would be good for learning to apply decals , because any detail it has is in the decals
A good model kit but needs work
This has nothing againts you guy's but this was the worst project decals are impossible to put on since they are too small and instructions are of no help...To avoid.
this was my first car when i was growing up so i love it
because it is so amazing to look at and great to build and the shell could be used for a make your own Scalextric car (slot car)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
